8 And_gathered all the_people as_man one to the_square which to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the _gate the_waters and_they _said to_ˊEzərāʼ the_scribe to_bring DOM the _scroll of _the _law of _Mosheh which he _had _commanded Yahweh DOM Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel).
2 And_brought ˊEzərāʼ the_priest/officer DOM the_law to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the_assembly from_man and_unto woman and_all/each/any/every [one _who]_understood to_hear in/on_day one of _the_month the_seventh.
3 And_he/it _called in_him/it to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the_square which to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the _gate the_waters from the_light until the _middle the_day before the_men and_the_women and_the_understand and_ears of _all the_people [were]_to the _scroll the_law.
4 And_stood ˊEzərāʼ the_scribe on a _high _platform of _wood which people _had _made to_the _word/thing/matter and_stood beside_him Mattithiah and_Shema and_Anaiah and_ʼUriy^yāh and_Hilkiah and_Maaseiah on right_his and_on_left_his Pedaiah and_Mīshā^ʼēl and_Malchijah and_Hashum and_Hashbaddanah Zəkarə^yāh Meshullam.
5 and_opened ˊEzərāʼ the_book in_sight of _all the_people DOM from_under all the_people he _was and_when_opened_he they _stood _up all the_people.
6 And_he/it _blessed ˊEzərāʼ DOM Yahweh the_ʼₑlhīmv the_great and_answered all the_people amen amen in/on/at/with_lifting _up hands_their and_bowed _down and_worshiped to/for_YHWH face ground_to.
7 And_Jeshua and_Bani and_Sherebiah[fn][fn] Jamin Akkub Shabbethai Hodiah Maaseiah Kelita Azariah Jozabad Hanan Pelaiah and_the_Levites [were]_causing _to _understand DOM the_people from _the_law and_the_people [were]_at places_their.

9 and_he/it _said Nəḩemə^yāh he the_governor and_ˊEzərāʼ the_priest/officer the_scribe and_the_Levites the_taught DOM the_people to/from_all/each/any/every the_people the_day [is]_holy it to/for_YHWH god_your _all’s do _not mourn and_not weep DOM [were]_weeping all the_people when_heard_they DOM the _words the_law.
10 And_he/it _said to/for_them go eat fat _foods and_drink sweet _things and_send portions to_nothing a _[thing]_prepared to_him/it DOM [is]_holy the_day to_master_our and_not be _grieved DOM the _joy of _Yahweh it strength_your _all’s.
11 And_the_Levites [were]_making _quiet to/from_all/each/any/every the_people to_say hush DOM the_day [is]_holy and_not be _grieved.
12 And_went all the_people to_eat and_to_drink and_to_send portions and_to_make joy great DOM they _had _understood in/on/at/with_words which they _had _made _known to/for_them.
