This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
9:30 The Jews’ failure to believe
30 So then, what should we say? That non-Jews who weren’t godly, reached out by faith to achieve righteousness, 31 but Jews who chased after righteousness by obeying The Law, didn’t achieve it? 32 How come? Because they tried to reach it by works and not by faith. They tripped over the stumbling stone, 33 [ref]as it’s written:
‘Look, I’m laying down a stumbling stone in Zion,
won’t be disgraced.’
10 Brothers and sisters, my heart would be very pleased indeed if Israelis would get saved, and that’s what I request from God. 2 I keep telling them that they’re very zealous for God, yet they lack know-how. 3 Because they don’t know what God’s righteousness is and they try to establish their own system, they weren’t covered by his righteousness. 4 The fulfilment of The Law is Messiah, leading to righteousness for everyone who believes.
