כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָרַ֛ג [3] Tevir
אֶת־כׇּל־הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 1 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. [3]
2 וַתִּשְׁלַ֤ח אִיזֶ֙בֶל֙ [3 3] Pashta

אֶל־אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
כֹּֽה־יַעֲשׂ֤וּן אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְכֹ֣ה יֽוֹסִפ֔וּן [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־כָעֵ֤ת מָחָר֙ [3] Pashta
אָשִׂ֣ים אֶֽת־נַפְשְׁךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
 
כְּנֶ֖פֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
אַחַ֥ד מֵהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 3 2 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!” ¶ [3 3]

אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִיהוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּנַּ֥ח אֶֽת־נַעֲר֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 3 When he saw that, he arose, and ran for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. [3]
4 וְהֽוּא־הָלַ֤ךְ בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ [3] Pashta

וַיָּבֹ֕א [2] ZaqefG

עַתָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
קַ֣ח נַפְשִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־לֹא־ט֥וֹב אָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֲבֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 2 3 2 3 4 3 2 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree. Then he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough. Now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.” ¶ [3]

נֹגֵ֣עַ בּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
ק֥וּם אֱכֽוֹל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 5 He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat!” ¶ [3]
6 וַיַּבֵּ֕ט [2] ZaqefG
 
וְהִנֵּ֧ה מְרַאֲשֹׁתָ֛יו [3] Tevir
עֻגַ֥ת רְצָפִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְצַפַּ֣חַת מָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּ [2] Zaqef
וַיָּ֖שׇׁב [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 6 He looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again. [2]
 
7 וַיָּ֩שׇׁב֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ יְהֹוָ֤ה ׀ שֵׁנִית֙ [3] Pashta
וַיִּגַּע־בּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
ק֣וּם אֱכֹ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
רַ֥ב מִמְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
הַדָּֽרֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 7 The LORD’s angel came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.” ¶ [3]
8 וַיָּ֖קׇם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֜לֶךְ [4] Geresh
בְּכֹ֣חַ ׀ [4] Legarmeh
הָאֲכִילָ֣ה הַהִ֗יא [3] Revi'i
 
אַרְבָּעִ֥ים יוֹם֙ [3] Pashta
וְאַרְבָּעִ֣ים לַ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֛ד [3] Tevir
הַ֥ר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
חֹרֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 4 3 2 3 8 He arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, God’s Mountain. [2]
9 וַיָּבֹא־שָׁ֥ם אֶל־הַמְּעָרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וַיָּ֣לֶן שָׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֤ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
מַה־לְּךָ֥ פֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 9 He came to a cave there, and camped there; and behold, the LORD’s word came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” ¶ [2]
10 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ קַנֹּ֨א קִנֵּ֜אתִי [4] Geresh
לַיהֹוָ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
אֱלֹהֵ֣י צְבָא֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
 
כִּֽי־עָזְב֤וּ בְרִֽיתְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
אֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתֶ֣יךָ הָרָ֔סוּ [2] Zaqef
וְאֶת־נְבִיאֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
הָרְג֣וּ בֶחָ֑רֶב [1] Etnachta
 
וָאִוָּתֵ֤ר אֲנִי֙ [3] Pashta
לְבַדִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְבַקְשׁ֥וּ אֶת־נַפְשִׁ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְקַחְתָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 3 2 2 2 3 2 10 He said, “I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.” ¶ [4]

צֵ֣א וְעָמַדְתָּ֣ בָהָר֮ [3] Zarqa
לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָה֒ [2] Segol
 
וְהִנֵּ֧ה יְהֹוָ֣ה עֹבֵ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
וְר֣וּחַ גְּדוֹלָ֡ה [4] Pazer
וְחָזָ֞ק [4] Gershayim
מְפָרֵק֩ הָרִ֨ים וּמְשַׁבֵּ֤ר סְלָעִים֙ [3] Pashta
לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א בָר֖וּחַ [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַחַ֤ר הָר֙וּחַ֙ [3 3] Pashta
רַ֔עַשׁ [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א בָרַ֖עַשׁ [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

“Go out and stand on the mountain [3]
before the LORD.” [2]
 
And behold the LORD passed by, [3]
 
and a great wind [4]
and strong [4]
tore the mountains and broke the rocks [3]
before the LORD. [2]
 
Not in the wind [2]
was the LORD. [1]
 
And after the wind [3 3]
was an earthquake. [2]
 
Not in the earthquake [2]
was the LORD. [1]
12 וְאַחַ֤ר הָרַ֙עַשׁ֙ [3 3] Pashta

וְאַחַ֣ר הָאֵ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef

דְּמָמָ֥ה דַקָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

was a fire. [2]
 
Not in the fire [2]
was the LORD. [1]
 
And after the fire, [2]
a sound [2]
of a soft whisper. [1]
13 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ [4] Legarmeh
כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ אֵלִיָּ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i
 
וַיָּ֤לֶט פָּנָיו֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאַדַּרְתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּצֵ֕א [2] ZaqefG
וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
פֶּ֣תַח הַמְּעָרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
ק֔וֹל [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
מַה־לְּךָ֥ פֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵֽלִיָּֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq

when Elijah heard it, [3]
 
he wrapped his face [3]
in his cloak, [2]
 
and he went out [2]
and he stood [2]
(at) the entrance of the cave; [1]

“What are you doing here, [2]
Elijah?” [1]

וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֧ אֶת־חֲזָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
לְמֶ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אֲרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 3 15 The LORD said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. [3]

יֵה֣וּא בֶן־נִמְשִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
תִּמְשַׁ֥ח לְמֶ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־אֱלִישָׁ֤ע בֶּן־שָׁפָט֙ [3] Pashta
מֵאָבֵ֣ל מְחוֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
תִּמְשַׁ֥ח לְנָבִ֖יא [2] Tip'cha
תַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 16 Anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place. [3]

מֵחֶ֥רֶב חֲזָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
יָמִ֣ית יֵה֑וּא [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַנִּמְלָ֛ט [3] Tevir
מֵחֶ֥רֶב יֵה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
יָמִ֥ית אֱלִישָֽׁע׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 17 He who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. [3]
18 וְהִשְׁאַרְתִּ֥י בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
שִׁבְעַ֣ת אֲלָפִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
כׇּל־הַבִּרְכַּ֗יִם [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹא־כָֽרְעוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לַבַּ֔עַל [2] Zaqef
 
וְכׇ֨ל־הַפֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־נָשַׁ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 2 18 Yet I reserved seven thousand in Israel, all the knees of which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.” ¶ [2]

אֶת־אֱלִישָׁ֤ע בֶּן־שָׁפָט֙ [3] Pashta
וְה֣וּא חֹרֵ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef
 
שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֤ר צְמָדִים֙ [3] Pashta
לְפָנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
בִּשְׁנֵ֣ים הֶעָשָׂ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְ אַדַּרְתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֵלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 2 3 2 2 3 2 19 So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. Elijah went over to him, and put his mantle on him. [4 4]
20 וַיַּעֲזֹ֣ב אֶת־הַבָּקָ֗ר [3] Revi'i
וַיָּ֙רׇץ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַחֲרֵ֣י אֵלִיָּ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
אֶשְּׁקָה־נָּא֙ [3] Pashta
לְאָבִ֣י וּלְאִמִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵלְכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אַחֲרֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
לֵ֣ךְ שׁ֔וּב [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י מֶה־עָשִׂ֖יתִי [2] Tip'cha
לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 20 Elisha left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, “Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” ¶He said to him, “Go back again; for what have I done to you?” ¶ [3]

וַיִּקַּ֣ח אֶת־צֶ֧מֶד הַבָּקָ֣ר וַיִּזְבָּחֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i
 
וּבִכְלִ֤י הַבָּקָר֙ [3] Pashta
בִּשְּׁלָ֣ם הַבָּשָׂ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּתֵּ֥ן לָעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֗קׇם [3] Revi'i
וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ [3] Tevir
אַחֲרֵ֥י אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
וַֽיְשָׁרְתֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
