	¹וַיִּקְבְּצ֧וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֛ים [3] Darga Tevir אֶת־כׇּל־מַחֲנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אֲפֵ֑קָה [1] Etnachta וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל חֹנִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef בַּעַ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek; and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel. [3]
	²וְסַרְנֵ֤י פְלִשְׁתִּים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta עֹֽבְרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef לְמֵא֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha וְלַאֲלָפִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וְדָוִ֣ד וַאֲנָשָׁ֗יו [3] Munach Revi'a עֹ֥בְרִ֛ים [3] Merkha Tevir בָּאַחֲרֹנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha עִם־אָכִֽישׁ׃ [1] Silluq		²The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish. ¶ [3]
	³וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta שָׂרֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef מָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha הָעִבְרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה [1] Munach Etnachta וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אָכִ֜ישׁ [4] Qadma Geresh אֶל־שָׂרֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים [3] Munach Revi'a הֲלוֹא־זֶ֨ה דָוִ֜ד [4] Qadma Geresh עֶ֣בֶד ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh שָׁא֣וּל מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל [3] Munach Revi'a אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֤ה אִתִּי֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta זֶ֤ה יָמִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אוֹ־זֶ֣ה שָׁנִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef וְלֹֽא־מָצָ֤אתִי בוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta מְא֔וּמָה [2] Zaqef מִיּ֥וֹם נׇפְל֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha עַד־הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq פ		³Then the princes of the Philistines said, “What about these Hebrews?” ¶Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Isn’t this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I have found no fault in him since he fell away until today.” ¶ [3]

For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men? [4]
	⁵הֲלוֹא־זֶ֣ה דָוִ֔ד [2] Munach Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֧ר יַעֲנוּ־ל֛וֹ [3] Darga Tevir בַּמְּחֹל֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta הִכָּ֤ה שָׁאוּל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta בַּאֲלָפָ֔יו [2] Zaqef וְדָוִ֖ד [2] Tip'cha בְּרִבְבֹתָֽו׃ [1] Silluq ס		⁵Isn’t this David, of whom people sang to one another in dances, saying, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?’ ” ¶ [2]
	⁶וַיִּקְרָ֨א אָכִ֜ישׁ [4] Qadma Geresh אֶל־דָּוִ֗ד [3] Revi'a וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵ֠לָ֠יו [4] Munach TelishaG חַי־יְהֹוָ֞ה [4] Gershayim כִּֽי־יָשָׁ֣ר אַתָּ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a וְט֣וֹב בְּ֠עֵינַ֠י [4] Munach TelishaG צֵאתְךָ֨ וּבֹאֲךָ֤ אִתִּי֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef כִּ֠י [4] TelishaG לֹֽא־מָצָ֤אתִֽי בְךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מִיּ֛וֹם [3] Tevir בֹּאֲךָ֥ אֵלַ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha עַד־הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta וּבְעֵינֵ֥י הַסְּרָנִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha לֹא־ט֥וֹב אָֽתָּה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		⁶Then Achish called David, and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you. [4]
	⁷וְעַתָּ֥ה שׁ֖וּב [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְלֵ֣ךְ בְּשָׁל֑וֹם [1] Munach Etnachta וְלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂ֣ה רָ֔ע [2] Munach Zaqef בְּעֵינֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha סַרְנֵ֥י פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq ס		⁷Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines.” ¶ [2]
	⁸וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד [4] Qadma Geresh אֶל־אָכִ֗ישׁ [3] Revi'a כִּ֣י מֶ֤ה עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta וּמַה־מָּצָ֣אתָ בְעַבְדְּךָ֔ [2] Munach Zaqef מִיּוֹם֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיִ֣יתִי לְפָנֶ֔יךָ [2] Munach Munach Zaqef עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta כִּ֣י לֹ֤א אָבוֹא֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta וְנִלְחַ֔מְתִּי [2] Zaqef בְּאֹיְבֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		⁸David said to Achish, “But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?” ¶ [4]
	⁹וַיַּ֣עַן אָכִישׁ֮ [3] Munach Zarqa וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־דָּוִד֒ [2] Munach Segol יָדַ֕עְתִּי [2] ZaqefG כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב אַתָּ֛ה [3] Munach Merkha Tevir בְּעֵינַ֖י [2] Tip'cha כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ אֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Munach Etnachta אַ֣ךְ שָׂרֵ֤י פְלִשְׁתִּים֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta אָֽמְר֔וּ [2] Zaqef לֹא־יַעֲלֶ֥ה עִמָּ֖נוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		⁹Achish answered David, “I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’ [3]
	¹⁰וְעַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta הַשְׁכֵּ֣ם בַּבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Munach Zaqef וְעַבְדֵ֥י אֲדֹנֶ֖יךָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ אִתָּ֑ךְ [1] Munach Etnachta וְהִשְׁכַּמְתֶּ֣ם בַּבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Munach Zaqef וְא֥וֹר לָכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha וָלֵֽכוּ׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁰Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning, and have light, depart.” ¶ [3]
	¹¹וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם דָּוִ֜ד [4] Qadma Geresh ה֤וּא וַאֲנָשָׁיו֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לָלֶ֣כֶת בַּבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Munach Zaqef לָשׁ֖וּב [2] Tip'cha אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים [1] Munach Etnachta וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha עָל֥וּ יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq ס		¹¹So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines went up to Jezreel. ¶ [4]
