לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יָרׇבְעָ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְ אֲבִיָּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַל־יְהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 1 In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam, Abijah began to reign over Judah. [3]

מִן־גִּבְעָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וּמִלְחָמָ֥ה הָֽיְתָ֛ה [3] Merkha Tevir
בֵּ֥ין אֲבִיָּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּבֵ֥ין יָרׇבְעָֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 3 2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam. [3]

1 2 3 3 2 2 2 4 Abijah stood up on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel: [3]

יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh

נָתַ֨ן מַמְלָכָ֧ה לְדָוִ֛יד [3] Qadma Darga Tevir
עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
 
לְעוֹלָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
ל֥וֹ וּלְבָנָ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּרִ֥ית מֶֽלַח׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בֶן־דָּוִ֑יד [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּמְרֹ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אֲדֹנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord. [3]
7 וַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּ עָלָ֗יו [3] Munach Revi'a

בְּנֵ֣י בְלִיַּ֔עַל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיִּֽתְאַמְּצ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־רְחַבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וּרְחַבְעָ֗ם [3] Revi'a
הָ֤יָֽה נַ֙עַר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְרַךְ־לֵבָ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א הִתְחַזַּ֖ק [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 3 2 7 Worthless men were gathered to him, wicked fellows who strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender hearted, and could not withstand them. ¶ [3]

כׇּל־הַבָּ֗א [3] Revi'a
 
לְמַלֵּ֨א יָד֜וֹ [4] Qadma Geresh
בְּפַ֤ר בֶּן־בָּקָר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְאֵילִ֣ם שִׁבְעָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהָיָ֥ה כֹהֵ֖ן [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְלֹ֥א אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of those who are no gods. ¶ [3]

וְלֹ֣א עֲזַבְנֻ֑הוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְכֹ֨הֲנִ֜ים [4] Qadma Geresh
מְשָׁרְתִ֤ים לַֽיהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֔ן [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בַּמְלָֽאכֶת׃ [1] Silluq

עֹל֣וֹת בַּבֹּֽקֶר־בַּבֹּ֣קֶר וּבָעֶֽרֶב־בָּעֶ֣רֶב וּקְטֹֽרֶת־סַמִּים֩ וּמַעֲרֶ֨כֶת לֶ֜חֶם [4] Munach Munach Munach TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
עַל־הַשֻּׁלְחָ֣ן הַטָּה֗וֹר [3] Munach Revi'a
 
וּמְנוֹרַ֨ת הַזָּהָ֤ב וְנֵרֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
לְבָעֵר֙ [3] Pashta
בָּעֶ֣רֶב בָּעֶ֔רֶב [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־שֹׁמְרִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְאַתֶּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עֲזַבְתֶּ֥ם אֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 3 3 2 2 2 11 and they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. They also set the show bread in order on the pure table; and the lamp stand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening; for we keep the instruction of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken him. [4]
12 וְהִנֵּה֩ עִמָּ֨נוּ בָרֹ֜אשׁ [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
הָאֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ וְכֹהֲנָ֛יו [3] Darga Tevir
וַחֲצֹצְר֥וֹת הַתְּרוּעָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְהָרִ֣יעַ עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל [3] Munach Revi'a
אַל־תִּלָּ֥חֲמ֛וּ [3] Merkha Tevir
עִם־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽי־אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כִּי־לֹ֥א תַצְלִֽיחוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 3 3 12 Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the shofars of alarm to sound an alarm against you. Children of Israel, don’t fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers; for you will not prosper.” ¶ [4]

הֵסֵב֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הַמַּאְרָ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
לָב֖וֹא [2] Tip'cha
מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהַמַּאְרָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 13 But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them. [3]
14 וַיִּפְנ֣וּ יְהוּדָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
וְהִנֵּ֨ה לָהֶ֤ם הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
פָּנִ֣ים וְאָח֔וֹר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַֽיִּצְעֲק֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לַיהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
*מחצצרים **מַחְצְרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֲצֹצְרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 14 When Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to the LORD, and the priests sounded with the shofars. [3]
15 וַיָּרִ֖יעוּ [2] Tip'cha
אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֗י [3] Revi'a
בְּהָרִ֙יעַ֙ [3] Pashta
אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהָאֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'a
נָגַ֤ף אֶת־יָרׇבְעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
לִפְנֵ֥י אֲבִיָּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וִיהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 3 3 2 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout. As the men of Judah shouted, God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. [2]
16 וַיָּנ֥וּסוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּתְּנֵ֥ם אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּיָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 16 The children of Israel fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hand. [2]
17 וַיַּכּ֥וּ בָהֶ֛ם [3] Merkha Tevir
אֲבִיָּ֥ה וְעַמּ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מַכָּ֣ה רַבָּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּפְּל֤וּ חֲלָלִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
חֲמֵשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֖לֶף [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אִ֥ישׁ בָּחֽוּר׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 17 Abijah and his people killed them with a great slaughter, so five hundred thousand chosen men of Israel fell down slain. [3]
18 וַיִּכָּנְע֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֑יא [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיֶּֽאֶמְצוּ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י נִשְׁעֲנ֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef
עַל־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 18 Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers. [2]
19 וַיִּרְדֹּ֣ף אֲבִיָּה֮ [3] Munach Zarqa
אַחֲרֵ֣י יָרׇבְעָם֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
וַיִּלְכֹּ֤ד מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
עָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אֶת־בֵּֽית־אֵל֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־בְּנוֹתֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־יְשָׁנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־בְּנוֹתֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־*עפרון **עֶפְרַ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha
וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 2 19 Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages, and Ephron with its villages. ¶ [3]
20 וְלֹֽא־עָצַ֧ר כֹּֽחַ־יָרׇבְעָ֛ם [3] Darga Tevir

בִּימֵ֣י אֲבִיָּ֑הוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּגְּפֵ֥הוּ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיָּמֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 2 20 Jeroboam didn’t recover strength again in the days of Abijah. The LORD struck him, and he died. [3]
21 וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֣ק אֲבִיָּ֔הוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
וַיִּ֨שָּׂא־ל֔וֹ [2] Qadma Zaqef
נָשִׁ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אַרְבַּ֣ע עֶשְׂרֵ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיּ֗וֹלֶד [3] Revi'a
עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בָּנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְשֵׁ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בָּנֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 3 3 2 21 But Abijah grew mighty, and took for himself fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons, and sixteen daughters. [2]

וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ [3] Tevir
אָסָ֥א בְנ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תַּחְתָּ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
בְּיָמָ֛יו [3] Tevir
שָׁקְטָ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
