| 1 בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְחָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta יוֹתָ֣ם בְּמׇלְכ֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef מָלַ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם [1] Etnachta יְרוּשָׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha בַּת־צָדֽוֹק׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok. [3] |

| 2 וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַיָּשָׁ֜ר [4] Qadma Geresh בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a עֻזִּיָּ֣הוּ אָבִ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef לֹא־בָ֖א [2] Tip'cha אֶל־הֵיכַ֣ל יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta מַשְׁחִיתִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
2 He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that his father Uzziah had done. However he didn’t enter into the LORD’s temple. The people still acted corruptly. [4] |

3 He built the upper gate of the LORD’s house, and he built much on the wall of Ophel. [3] |

| 4 וְעָרִ֥ים בָּנָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha בְּהַר־יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta בִּירָנִיּ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha וּמִגְדָּלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers. [2] |

| 5 וְ֠ה֠וּא [4] TelishaG נִלְחַ֞ם [4] Gershayim עִם־מֶ֣לֶךְ בְּנֵֽי־עַמּוֹן֮ [3] Munach Zarqa וַיֶּחֱזַ֣ק עֲלֵיהֶם֒ [2] Munach Segol בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַהִ֗יא [3] Munach Revi'a כִּכַּר־כֶּ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef חִטִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת אֲלָפִ֑ים [1] Munach Etnachta הֵשִׁ֤יבוּ לוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן [2] Munach Zaqef וְהַשְּׁלִשִֽׁית׃ [1] Silluq |
5 He also fought with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. The children of Ammon also gave that much to him in the second year, and in the third. [4] |

6 So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God. [2] |

7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. [3] |
