קהלת 2 | Ecclesiastes 2 | |||
1 I, I said [3] in my heart, [2] I will test you with pleasure [2] to see what is good;” [1] was meaningless. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
2 Of laughter [2] I said, “It is foolishness;” [1] “What does this accomplish?” [1] |
3 I searched in my heart [2] how to cheer with wine [2] my flesh; [1] guiding with wisdom [3] of how to take hold of folly, [2] for the sons of men [3] under the heavens, [2] days of their lives. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 I made great [2] my works; [1] houses, [2] vineyards. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 I made for myself [2] gardens [2] and parks; [1] all kinds of fruit trees. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 I made for myself [2] pools of water; [1] a forest [2] of sprouting trees. [1] |
7 I bought [3 3] male servants and female servants, [2] were my servants; [1] I had, [2] who were before me [2] in Jerusalem. [1] |
[2] Tip'cha |
8 I gathered for myself [3] also silver and gold, [2] and provinces; [1] male singers and female singers, [3] of the sons of men, [2] |
9 So I became great and I increased, [2] who were before me [2] in Jerusalem; [1] it stayed with me. [1] |
10 And anything [3] that my eyes desired, [2] from them; [1] from any pleasure [3] from all my labor, [2] from all my labor. [1] |
11 Yet when I, I looked [3] on all my works [3] that my hands had done, [2] that I had labored to do; [1] and a chasing after wind, [2] under the sun. [1] |
12 Then I, I turned [3] to consider wisdom, [2] and folly; [1] what is the man [3] after the king? [2] it has been done. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 Then I, I saw, [2] to wisdom [2] above folly; [1] above darkness. [1] |
14 The wise, [3] his eyes are in his head, [2] walks in darkness; [1] that one fate, [2] it will happen to them all. [1] |
15 So I, I said [4] in my heart, [3] I too, it will happen to me - [2] I [2] then so much?” [1] that this too [2] is futility. [1] |
16 For there is no remembrance of the wise, [3] along with the fool, [2] forever; [1] in the days to come, [3] all is forgotten. [2] will the wise die? [2] With the fool. [1] |
17 So I hated [3 3] life, [2] was the work [2] under the sun; [1] and a chasing after wind. [1] |
18 And I, I hated [3] all my labor [2] under the sun; [1] to the man [2] who comes after me. [1] |
19 And who knows, [3] wise will he be [3] or a fool, [2] over all of my labor, [2] under the sun. [1] is futility. [1] |
20 So I, I turned [2] to give my heart over to despair; [1] all the labor [2] under the sun. [1] |
21 For sometimes a man [3] who has labored [3] with wisdom and with knowledge, [2] and with skill; [1] who has not labored for it, [3] he must hand it over as an inheritance. [2] and a great evil. [1] |
22 For [4] what does a man get [3] for all his labor [2] of his heart; [1] under the sun? [1] |
23 For all his days are sorrows, [3] and grief [3 3] is his task, [2] his heart takes no rest. [1] is futility. [1] |
24 There is nothing better for a man [3] than to eat and drink, [2] satisfaction [2] in his labor; [1] I, I have seen, [2] from the hand of God [2] it is. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
25 For who can eat [3] or who can have enjoyment, [2] more than I? [1] |
26 For to the man [3] who is pleasing before him [2] wisdom and knowledge [2] and joy; [1] of gathering and collecting, [3] to one who is pleasing [3] before God. [2] and a chasing after wind. [1] |
