1 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
2 1 The LORD’s word came to me again, saying, [2]
2 מַה־לָּכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'a
אַתֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
מֹֽשְׁלִים֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הַמָּשָׁ֣ל הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
עַל־אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
אָבוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
יֹ֣אכְלוּ בֹ֔סֶר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְשִׁנֵּ֥י הַבָּנִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִקְהֶֽינָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 3 2 2 3 2 2 “What do you mean, that you use this proverb concerning Eretz-Israel, saying, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? ¶ [3]

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 4 3 3 “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “you shall not use this proverb any more in Israel. [2]

כְּנֶ֧פֶשׁ הָאָ֛ב [3] Darga Tevir
וּכְנֶ֥פֶשׁ הַבֵּ֖ן [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לִי־הֵ֑נָּה [1] Etnachta
 
הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַחֹטֵ֖את [2] Merkha Tip'cha
הִ֥יא תָמֽוּת׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine. The soul who sins, he shall die. [3]

1 2 2 5 “But if a man is just, and does that which is lawful and right, [2]

וְעֵינָיו֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א נָשָׂ֔א [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֶל־גִּלּוּלֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־אֵ֤שֶׁת רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לֹ֣א טִמֵּ֔א [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְאֶל־אִשָּׁ֥ה נִדָּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יִקְרָֽב׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 3 2 6 and has not eaten on the mountains, hasn’t lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hasn’t defiled his neighbor’s wife, hasn’t come near a woman in her impurity, [3]

לַחְמוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
לְרָעֵ֣ב יִתֵּ֔ן [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְעֵירֹ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְכַסֶּה־בָּֽגֶד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 3 2 7 and has not wronged any, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has taken nothing by robbery, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment; [3]
8 בַּנֶּ֣שֶׁךְ לֹֽא־יִתֵּ֗ן [3] Munach Revi'a
וְתַרְבִּית֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א יִקָּ֔ח [2] Munach Zaqef
 
מֵעָ֖וֶל [2] Tip'cha
יָשִׁ֣יב יָד֑וֹ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
מִשְׁפַּ֤ט אֱמֶת֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
יַעֲשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
בֵּ֥ין אִ֖ישׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְאִֽישׁ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 8 he who hasn’t lent to them with interest, hasn’t taken any increase from them, who has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man, [3]

וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֥י שָׁמַ֖ר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת אֱמֶ֑ת [1] Munach Etnachta

חָיֹ֣ה יִֽחְיֶ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
נְאֻ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 9 has walked in my statutes, and has kept my ordinances, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live,” says the Lord GOD. ¶ [3]

וְעָ֣שָׂה אָ֔ח [2] Munach Zaqef
מֵאַחַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֵֽלֶּה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 10 “If he fathers a son who is a robber who sheds blood, and who does any one of these things, [2]

כִּ֣י גַ֤ם אֶל־הֶהָרִים֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta

וְאֶת־אֵ֥שֶׁת רֵעֵ֖הוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
טִמֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 11 or who does not do any of those things, but even has eaten at the mountain shrines, and defiled his neighbor’s wife, [2]
12 עָנִ֤י וְאֶבְיוֹן֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta

גְּזֵל֣וֹת גָּזָ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef

וְאֶל־הַגִּלּוּלִים֙ [3] Pashta
נָשָׂ֣א עֵינָ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef
 
תּוֹעֵבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עָשָֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 3 2 12 has wronged the poor and needy, has taken by robbery, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination, [3]
13 בַּנֶּ֧שֶׁךְ נָתַ֛ן [3] Darga Tevir
וְתַרְבִּ֥ית לָקַ֖ח [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וָחָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
לֹ֣א יִֽחְיֶ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
אֵ֣ת כׇּל־הַתּוֹעֵב֤וֹת הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta
עָשָׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מ֣וֹת יוּמָ֔ת [2] Munach Zaqef
דָּמָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
בּ֥וֹ יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 13 has lent with interest, and has taken increase from the poor; shall he then live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations. He shall surely die. His blood will be on him. ¶ [3]

1 2 3 2 2 22 None of his transgressions that he has committed will be remembered against him. In his righteousness that he has done, he shall live. [3]

כׇּל־צִדְקֹתָ֤ו אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לֹ֣א תִזָּכַ֔רְנָה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
בְּמַעֲל֧וֹ אֲשֶׁר־מָעַ֛ל [3] Darga Tevir
וּבְחַטָּאת֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־חָטָ֖א [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בָּ֥ם יָמֽוּת׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

None of his righteous deeds that he has done will be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die. ¶ [3]

לֹ֥א יִתָּכֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 3 2 25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not equal.’ Hear now, house of Israel: Is my way not equal? Aren’t your ways unequal? [2]
26 בְּשׁוּב־צַדִּ֧יק מִצִּדְקָת֛וֹ [3] Darga Tevir
וְעָ֥שָׂה עָ֖וֶל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּמֵ֣ת עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בְּעַוְל֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יָמֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 2 26 When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies therein; in his iniquity that he has done he shall die. [3]
27 וּבְשׁ֣וּב רָשָׁ֗ע [3] Munach Revi'a
מֵֽרִשְׁעָתוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּצְדָקָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־נַפְשׁ֥וֹ יְחַיֶּֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he will save his soul alive. [3]
28 וַיִּרְאֶ֣ה *וישוב **וַיָּ֔שׇׁב [2] Munach Zaqef
מִכׇּל־פְּשָׁעָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
חָי֥וֹ יִֽחְיֶ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יָמֽוּת׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 28 Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live. He shall not die. [2]

לֹ֥א יִתָּכֵ֖ן [2] Merkha Tip'cha
דֶּ֣רֶךְ אֲדֹנָ֑י [1] Munach Etnachta
 
הַדְּרָכַ֞י [4] Gershayim
לֹ֤א יִתָּֽכְנוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
הֲלֹ֥א דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יִתָּכֵֽן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 2 29 Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ House of Israel, aren’t my ways fair? Aren’t your ways unfair? ¶ [3]

וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֛ם [3] Merkha Tevir
לְמִכְשׁ֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha
עָוֺֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 2 3 2 3 30 “Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD. “Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity will not be your ruin. [4]

אֲשֶׁ֣ר פְּשַׁעְתֶּ֣ם בָּ֔ם [2] Munach Munach Zaqef
