1 וְאַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
שָׂ֣א קִינָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֶל־נְשִׂיאֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 “Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, [3]
2 וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ [3] Revi'a
מָ֤ה אִמְּךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְבִיָּ֔א [2] Zaqef
 
בֵּ֥ין אֲרָי֖וֹת [2] Merkha Tip'cha
רָבָ֑צָה [1] Etnachta
 
בְּת֥וֹךְ כְּפִרִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
רִבְּתָ֥ה גוּרֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 and say, ‘What was your mother? A lioness. She couched among lions, in the middle of the young lions she nourished her cubs. [3]
3 וַתַּ֛עַל [3] Tevir
אֶחָ֥ד מִגֻּרֶ֖יהָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּלְמַ֥ד לִטְרׇף־טֶ֖רֶף [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 She brought up one of her cubs. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men. [3]
4 וַיִּשְׁמְע֥וּ אֵלָ֛יו [3] Merkha Tevir
גּוֹיִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּשַׁחְתָּ֣ם נִתְפָּ֑שׂ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיְבִאֻ֥הוּ בַחַחִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 4 The nations also heard of him. He was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt. [3]
5 וַתֵּ֙רֶא֙ [3] Pashta
כִּ֣י נֽוֹחֲלָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אָבְדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
תִּקְוָתָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַתִּקַּ֛ח [3] Tevir
אֶחָ֥ד מִגֻּרֶ֖יהָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כְּפִ֥יר שָׂמָֽתְהוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 5 “ ‘Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion. [3]
6 וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּתוֹךְ־אֲרָי֖וֹת [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּלְמַ֥ד לִטְרׇף־טֶ֖רֶף [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 6 He went up and down among the lions. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men. [2]
7 וַיֵּ֙דַע֙ [3] Pashta
אַלְמְנוֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְעָרֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הֶחֱרִ֑יב [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֤שַׁם אֶ֙רֶץ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וּמְלֹאָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
מִקּ֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha
שַׁאֲגָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 7 He knew their palaces, and laid waste their cities. The land was desolate, with its fullness, because of the noise of his roaring. [3]
8 וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ עָלָ֥יו גּוֹיִ֛ם [3] Qadma Merkha Tevir
סָבִ֖יב [2] Tip'cha
מִמְּדִינ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיִּפְרְשׂ֥וּ עָלָ֛יו [3] Merkha Tevir
רִשְׁתָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּשַׁחְתָּ֥ם נִתְפָּֽשׂ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 8 Then the nations attacked him on every side from the provinces. They spread their net over him. He was taken in their pit. [3]
9 וַֽיִּתְּנֻ֤הוּ בַסּ֙וּגַר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בַּחַחִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְבִאֻ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta
 
יְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ [3] Pashta
בַּמְּצֹד֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
לְמַ֗עַן [3] Revi'a
לֹא־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹל֛וֹ [3] Merkha Tevir
ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 3 2 3 3 9 They put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon. They brought him into strongholds, so that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel. [3]
10 אִמְּךָ֥ כַגֶּ֛פֶן [3] Merkha Tevir
בְּדָמְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־מַ֣יִם שְׁתוּלָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
פֹּֽרִיָּה֙ [3] Pashta
וַעֲנֵפָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
הָיְתָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מִמַּ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 10 “ ‘Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. [3]
11 וַיִּֽהְיוּ־לָ֞הּ [4] Gershayim
מַטּ֣וֹת עֹ֗ז [3] Munach Revi'a
 
אֶל־שִׁבְטֵי֙ [3] Pashta
מֹֽשְׁלִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַתִּגְבַּ֥הּ קוֹמָת֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַל־בֵּ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֑ים [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיֵּרָ֣א בְגׇבְה֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
בְּרֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
דָּלִיֹּתָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 2 11 It had strong branches for the scepters of those who ruled. Their stature was exalted among the thick boughs. They were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches. [4]
12 וַתֻּתַּ֤שׁ בְּחֵמָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לָאָ֣רֶץ הֻשְׁלָ֔כָה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְר֥וּחַ הַקָּדִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
הוֹבִ֣ישׁ פִּרְיָ֑הּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
הִתְפָּרְק֧וּ וְיָבֵ֛שׁוּ [3] Darga Tevir
מַטֵּ֥ה עֻזָּ֖הּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵ֥שׁ אֲכָלָֽתְהוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 12 But it was plucked up in fury. It was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit. Its strong branches were broken off and withered. The fire consumed them. [3]
13 וְעַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שְׁתוּלָ֣ה בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בְּאֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
צִיָּ֥ה וְצָמָֽא׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 13 Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land. [2]
14 וַתֵּצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ [4] Qadma Geresh
מִמַּטֵּ֤ה בַדֶּ֙יהָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
פִּרְיָ֣הּ אָכָ֔לָה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה בָ֛הּ [3] Merkha Tevir
מַטֵּה־עֹ֖ז [2] Tip'cha
שֵׁ֣בֶט לִמְשׁ֑וֹל [1] Munach Etnachta
 
קִ֥ינָה הִ֖יא [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַתְּהִ֥י לְקִינָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 4 2 3 2 14 Fire has gone out of its branches. It has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong branch to be a scepter to rule.’ This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.” ¶ [4]
