1 In the beginning [2] God created; [1] and the earth. [1] |

| 2 וְהָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i הָיְתָ֥ה תֹ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta וָבֹ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef עַל־פְּנֵ֣י תְה֑וֹם [1] Etnachta מְרַחֶ֖פֶת [2] Tip'cha עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַמָּֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And the earth, [3] it was formless [3 3] and empty, [2] was on the surface of the deep; [1] was hovering [2] over the surface of the waters. [1] |

3 And God said, [2] “Let there be light,” [1] |

| 4 וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir אֶת־הָא֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha כִּי־ט֑וֹב [1] Etnachta בֵּ֥ין הָא֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha וּבֵ֥ין הַחֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And God saw [3] the light, [2] that it was good; [1] the light [2] from the darkness. [1] |

| 5 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ לָאוֹר֙ [3] Pashta י֔וֹם [2] Zaqef קָ֣רָא לָ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta י֥וֹם אֶחָֽד׃ [1] Silluq פ |
5 And God called the light [3] “day”, [2] he called “night”; [1] the first day. [1] ¶ |

| 6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef יְהִ֥י רָקִ֖יעַ [2] Tip'cha בְּת֣וֹךְ הַמָּ֑יִם [1] Etnachta בֵּ֥ין מַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha לָמָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And God said, [2] “Let there be an expanse [2] in the middle of the waters; [1] waters [2] from waters.” [1] |

| 7 וַיַּ֣עַשׂ אֱלֹהִים֮ [3] Zarqa אֶת־הָרָקִ֒יעַ֒ [2 2] Segol בֵּ֤ין הַמַּ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta אֲשֶׁר֙ [3] Pashta מִתַּ֣חַת לָרָקִ֔יעַ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha מֵעַ֣ל לָרָקִ֑יעַ [1] Etnachta |
7 And God made [3] the expanse, [2 2] the waters [3 3] which were [3] under the expanse [2] which were [2] above the expanse; [1] |

| 8 וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir לָֽרָקִ֖יעַ [2] Tip'cha שָׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta י֥וֹם שֵׁנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq פ |
8 And God called [3] the expanse [2] “sky”; [1] a second day. [1] ¶ |

| 9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i מִתַּ֤חַת הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta אֶל־מָק֣וֹם אֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef הַיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta |
9 And God said, [3] under the sky [3 3] to one place, [2] the dry land.” [1] |

| 10 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ לַיַּבָּשָׁה֙ [3] Pashta אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef קָרָ֣א יַמִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And God called the dry land [3] “earth”, [2] he called “seas”; [1] that it was good. [1] |

| 11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i תַּֽדְשֵׁ֤א הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ [3 3] Pashta דֶּ֗שֶׁא [3] Revi'i עֵ֚שֶׂב [3] Yetiv מַזְרִ֣יעַ זֶ֔רַע [2] Zaqef עֹ֤שֶׂה פְּרִי֙ [3] Pashta לְמִינ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta |
11 And God said, [3] “Let the earth yield [3 3] grass, [3] herbs [3] yielding seed, [2] bearing fruit [3] after its kind [2] on the earth.” [1] |

| 12 וַתּוֹצֵ֨א הָאָ֜רֶץ [4] Geresh דֶּ֠שֶׁא [4] TelishaG עֵ֣שֶׂב מַזְרִ֤יעַ זֶ֙רַע֙ [3 3] Pashta לְמִינֵ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר זַרְעוֹ־ב֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha לְמִינֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And the earth yielded [4] grass, [4] herbs yielding seed [3 3] after its kind, [2] which has its seed in it [2] after its kind; [1] that it was good. [1] |

13 And there was evening and there was morning, [2] a third day. [1] ¶ |

| 14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i יְהִ֤י מְאֹרֹת֙ [3] Pashta בִּרְקִ֣יעַ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef בֵּ֥ין הַיּ֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha וּבֵ֣ין הַלָּ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta וּלְמ֣וֹעֲדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef וְשָׁנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And God said, [3] “Let there be lights [3] in the expanse of the sky, [2] the day [2] from the night; [1] and for appointed times, [2] and years, [1] |

| 15 וְהָי֤וּ לִמְאוֹרֹת֙ [3] Pashta בִּרְקִ֣יעַ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta |
15 and let them be for lights [3] in the expanse of the sky [2] on the earth.” [1] |

| 16 וַיַּ֣עַשׂ אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־שְׁנֵ֥י הַמְּאֹרֹ֖ת [2] Tip'cha הַגְּדֹלִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לְמֶמְשֶׁ֣לֶת הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef לְמֶמְשֶׁ֣לֶת הַלַּ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef הַכּוֹכָבִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And God made [2] the two lights [2] which are great; [1] to rule the day, [2] to rule the night, [2] the stars. [1] |

| 17 וַיִּתֵּ֥ן אֹתָ֛ם [3] Tevir אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha בִּרְקִ֣יעַ הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And he set them, [3] God, [2] in the expanse of the sky; [1] on the earth, [1] |

| 18 וְלִמְשֹׁל֙ [3] Pashta בַּיּ֣וֹם וּבַלַּ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef בֵּ֥ין הָא֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha וּבֵ֣ין הַחֹ֑שֶׁךְ [1] Etnachta כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
18 and to rule [3] over the day and over the night, [2] the light [2] from the darkness; [1] that it was good. [1] |

19 And there was evening and there was morning, [2] a fourth day. [1] ¶ |

| 20 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef יִשְׁרְצ֣וּ הַמַּ֔יִם [2] Zaqef שֶׁ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֑ה [1] Etnachta יְעוֹפֵ֣ף עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef רְקִ֥יעַ הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And God said, [2] “Let the waters abound [2] with moving [2] living creatures; [1] let them fly above the earth, [2] the expanse of the sky.” [1] |

| 21 וַיִּבְרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־הַתַּנִּינִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha הַגְּדֹלִ֑ים [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁר֩ שָׁרְצ֨וּ הַמַּ֜יִם [4] Geresh לְמִֽינֵהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i לְמִינֵ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
21 And God created [2] the sea creatures, [2] the great ones; [1] with which the waters swarmed, [4] after their kind, [3] after its kind, [2] that it was good. [1] |

| 22 וַיְבָ֧רֶךְ אֹתָ֛ם [3] Tevir אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta וּמִלְא֤וּ אֶת־הַמַּ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta בַּיַּמִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef יִ֥רֶב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And He blessed them, [3] God, [2] saying; [1] and fill the waters [3 3] in the seas, [2] let them multiply on the earth.” [1] |

| 23 וַֽיְהִי־עֶ֥רֶב וַֽיְהִי־בֹ֖קֶר [2] Tip'cha י֥וֹם חֲמִישִֽׁי׃ [1] Silluq פ |
23 And there was evening and there was morning, [2] a fifth day. [1] ¶ |

| 24 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i נֶ֤פֶשׁ חַיָּה֙ [3] Pashta לְמִינָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef וְחַֽיְתוֹ־אֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha לְמִינָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta |
24 And God said, [3] living creatures [3] after their kind, [2] and animals of the earth, [2] after their kind.” [1] |

| 25 וַיַּ֣עַשׂ אֱלֹהִים֩ אֶת־חַיַּ֨ת הָאָ֜רֶץ [4] Geresh לְמִינָ֗הּ [3] Revi'i לְמִינָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef כׇּל־רֶ֥מֶשׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְמִינֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta כִּי־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
25 And God made the animals of the earth [4] after their kind, [3] after their kind, [2] everything that creeps on the ground [2] after its kind; [1] that it was good. [1] |

| 26 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בְּצַלְמֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha כִּדְמוּתֵ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta וּבְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם [3] Revi'i וּבְכׇל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef הָֽרֹמֵ֥שׂ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And God said, [2] in our image, [2] after our likeness; [1] and over the birds of the sky, [3] and over all the earth, [2] which creeps on the earth.” [1] |

| 27 וַיִּבְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ אֶת־הָֽאָדָם֙ [3] Pashta בְּצַלְמ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef בָּרָ֣א אֹת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta בָּרָ֥א אֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
27 And God created man [3] in his own image, [2] he created him; [1] he created them. [1] |

| 28 וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֹתָם֮ [3] Zarqa אֱלֹהִים֒ [2] Segol אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i וּמִלְא֥וּ אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha בִּדְגַ֤ת הַיָּם֙ [3] Pashta וּבְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef הָֽרֹמֶ֥שֶׂת עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
28 And he blessed them, [3] God, [2] God, [3] fill the earth, [2] over the fish of the sea, [3] and over the birds of the sky, [2] which moves on the earth.” [1] |

| 29 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i אֶת־כׇּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב ׀ [4] Legarmeh זֹרֵ֣עַ זֶ֗רַע [3] Revi'i עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כׇל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁר־בּ֥וֹ פְרִי־עֵ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha זֹרֵ֣עַ זָ֑רַע [1] Etnachta לְאׇכְלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
29 And God said, [3] every herb [4] yielding seed [3] on the surface of all the earth, [2] in which there is fruit of a tree [2] yielding seed; [1] for food. [1] |

| 30 וּֽלְכׇל־חַיַּ֣ת הָ֠אָ֠רֶץ [4 4] TelishaG וּלְכׇל־ע֨וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם [4] Geresh וּלְכֹ֣ל ׀ [4] Legarmeh רוֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְאׇכְלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta |
30 And to every animal of the earth, [4 4] and to every bird of the sky, [4] and to everything [4] that creeps on the earth [3] life, [2] for food.” [1] |
