אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ [2] Munach Munach Zaqef
 
מֵאֵ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, [3]
2 ק֥וּם וְיָרַדְתָּ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֖מָּה [2] Tip'cha
אַשְׁמִיעֲךָ֥ אֶת־דְּבָרָֽי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear my words.” ¶ [2]
3 וָאֵרֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
*והנהו **וְהִנֵּה־ה֛וּא [3] Tevir
עֹשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַל־הָאׇבְנָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he was making something on the wheels. [2]
4 וְנִשְׁחַ֣ת הַכְּלִ֗י [3] Munach Revi'a
אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֛ה [3] Qadma Merkha Tevir
בַּחֹ֖מֶר [2] Tip'cha
בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֗ב [3] Revi'a
וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ [3] Pashta
כְּלִ֣י אַחֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָשַׁ֛ר [3] Merkha Tevir
בְּעֵינֵ֥י הַיּוֹצֵ֖ר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 3 2 3 3 2 3 4 When the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. ¶ [3]
5 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֽוֹר׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
2 5 Then the LORD’s word came to me, saying, [2]
6 הֲכַיּוֹצֵ֨ר הַזֶּ֜ה [4] Qadma Geresh
לֹא־אוּכַ֨ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם [3] Qadma Merkha Tevir
בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
הִנֵּ֤ה כַחֹ֙מֶר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כֵּן־אַתֶּ֥ם בְּיָדִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 4 2 3 2 6 “House of Israel, can’t I do with you as this potter?” says the LORD. “Behold, as the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, house of Israel. [4]
7 רֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
עַל־גּ֖וֹי [2] Tip'cha
וְעַל־מַמְלָכָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
לִנְת֥וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֖וֹץ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּֽלְהַאֲבִֽיד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 7 At the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy it; [2]
8 וְשָׁב֙ [3] Pashta
הַגּ֣וֹי הַה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
 
מֵרָ֣עָת֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עָלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖בְתִּי [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לֽוֹ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 2 3 2 8 if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them. [3]
9 וְרֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
עַל־גּ֖וֹי [2] Tip'cha
וְעַל־מַמְלָכָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
לִבְנ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
וְלִנְטֽוֹעַ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 9 At the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; [2]
10 וְעָשָׂ֤ה *הרעה **הָרַע֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בְּעֵינַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
לְבִלְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שְׁמֹ֣עַ בְּקוֹלִ֑י [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הַטּוֹבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֖רְתִּי [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְהֵיטִ֥יב אוֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 3 2 10 if they do that which is evil in my sight, that they not obey my voice, then I will repent of the good with which I said I would benefit them. ¶ [3]

אֱמׇר־נָ֣א אֶל־אִישׁ־יְהוּדָה֩ וְעַל־יוֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם [4] Munach TelishaQ Qadma Geresh

רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְחֹשֵׁ֥ב עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מַחֲשָׁבָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
שׁ֣וּבוּ נָ֗א [3] Munach Revi'a
אִ֚ישׁ [3] Yetiv
מִדַּרְכּ֣וֹ הָרָעָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהֵיטִ֥יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 3 2 3 4 2 2 3 3 2 11 “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘The LORD says: “Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a plan against you. Everyone return from his evil way now, and amend your ways and your doings.” ’ [4]

כִּֽי־אַחֲרֵ֤י מַחְשְׁבוֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
נֵלֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
שְׁרִר֥וּת לִבּֽוֹ־הָרָ֖ע [2] Merkha Tip'cha
נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 2 3 2 3 12 But they say, ‘It is in vain; for we will walk after our own plans, and we will each follow the stubbornness of his evil heart.’ ” ¶ [2]

שַֽׁאֲלוּ־נָא֙ [3] Pashta
בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
מִ֥י שָׁמַ֖ע [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כָּאֵ֑לֶּה [1] Etnachta
 
שַֽׁעֲרֻרִת֙ [3] Pashta
עָשְׂתָ֣ה מְאֹ֔ד [2] Munach Zaqef
 
בְּתוּלַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 2 3 2 13 Therefore the LORD says: “Ask now among the nations, ‘Who has heard such things?’ The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing. [3]
14 הֲיַעֲזֹ֥ב מִצּ֛וּר [3] Merkha Tevir
שָׂדַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שֶׁ֣לֶג לְבָנ֑וֹן [1] Munach Etnachta
 
אִם־יִנָּֽתְשׁ֗וּ [3] Revi'a
מַ֛יִם [3] Tevir
זָרִ֥ים קָרִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
נוֹזְלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 14 Will the snow of Lebanon fail from the rock of the field? Will the cold waters that flow down from afar be dried up? [3]
15 כִּֽי־שְׁכֵחֻ֥נִי עַמִּ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַשָּׁ֣וְא יְקַטֵּ֑רוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיַּכְשִׁל֤וּם בְּדַרְכֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
שְׁבִילֵ֣י עוֹלָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לָלֶ֣כֶת נְתִיב֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef
דֶּ֖רֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א סְלוּלָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 15 For my people have forgotten me. They have burned incense to false gods. They have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in byways, in a way not built up, [2]
16 לָשׂ֥וּם אַרְצָ֛ם [3] Merkha Tevir
לְשַׁמָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
*שרוקת **שְׁרִיקֹ֣ת עוֹלָ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כֹּ֚ל [3] Yetiv
עוֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
יִשֹּׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְיָנִ֥יד בְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 16 to make their land an astonishment, and a perpetual hissing. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and shake his head. [3]
17 כְּרוּחַ־קָדִ֥ים אֲפִיצֵ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֣י אוֹיֵ֑ב [1] Munach Etnachta
 
עֹ֧רֶף וְלֹֽא־פָנִ֛ים [3] Darga Tevir
אֶרְאֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּי֥וֹם אֵידָֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 2 3 17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy. I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity. ¶ [2]

לְכ֨וּ וְנַחְשְׁבָ֥ה עַֽל־יִרְמְיָ֘הוּ֮ [3] Qadma Merkha Zarqa
מַֽחֲשָׁבוֹת֒ [2] Segol
 
כִּי֩ לֹא־תֹאבַ֨ד תּוֹרָ֜ה [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
מִכֹּהֵ֗ן [3] Revi'a
 
וְעֵצָה֙ [3] Pashta
מֵחָכָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְדָבָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
מִנָּבִ֑יא [1] Etnachta
 
לְכוּ֙ [3] Pashta
וְנַכֵּ֣הוּ בַלָּשׁ֔וֹן [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְאַל־נַקְשִׁ֖יבָה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־כׇּל־דְּבָרָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 2 18 Then they said, “Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.” [3]

1 2 2 19 Give heed to me, LORD, and listen to the voice of those who contend with me. [2]
20 הַיְשֻׁלַּ֤ם תַּֽחַת־טוֹבָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּי־כָר֥וּ שׁוּחָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְנַפְשִׁ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
זְכֹ֣ר ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh
עׇמְדִ֣י לְפָנֶ֗יךָ [3] Munach Revi'a
 
לְדַבֵּ֤ר עֲלֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
טוֹבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־חֲמָתְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מֵהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 20 Should evil be recompensed for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them. [3]

עַל־יְדֵי־חֶ֒רֶב֒ [2] Segol
 
וְתִהְיֶ֨נָה נְשֵׁיהֶ֤ם שַׁכֻּלוֹת֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
וְאַלְמָנ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַ֨נְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם [2] Qadma Zaqef
יִהְי֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
הֲרֻ֣גֵי מָ֑וֶת [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בַּח֣וּרֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
מֻכֵּי־חֶ֖רֶב [2] Tip'cha
בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 2 2 2 21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widows. Let their men be killed and their young men struck by the sword in battle. [4]

טָמְנ֥וּ לְרַגְלָֽי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 22 Let a cry be heard from their houses when you bring a troop suddenly on them; for they have dug a pit to take me and hidden snares for my feet. [3]

אַל־תְּכַפֵּר֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־עֲוֺנָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְחַטָּאתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מִלְּפָנֶ֣יךָ אַל־תֶּ֑מְחִי [1] Munach Etnachta
 
*והיו **וְיִהְי֤וּ מֻכְשָׁלִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְפָנֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּעֵ֥ת אַפְּךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עֲשֵׂ֥ה בָהֶֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 4 4 2 3 2 2 3 2 23 Yet, LORD, you know all their counsel against me to kill me. Don’t forgive their iniquity. Don’t blot out their sin from your sight, Let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger. ¶ [4]
