אֶת־יוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 3 2 1 After this Job opened his mouth, and cursed the day of his birth. [3]
2 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 Job answered: [3/2]
3 יֹ֣אבַד י֭וֹם [3] Dechi
אִוָּ֣לֶד בּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְהַלַּ֥יְלָה אָ֝מַ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הֹ֣רָה גָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 “Let the day perish in which I was born, the night which said, ‘There is a boy conceived.’ [3]
4 הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
יְֽהִ֫י חֹ֥שֶׁךְ [2] Ole Veyored
 
אַֽל־יִדְרְשֵׁ֣הוּ אֱל֣וֹהַּ [3] VDechi
מִמָּ֑עַל [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תּוֹפַ֖ע עָלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
נְהָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 4 Let that day be darkness. Don’t let God from above seek for it, neither let the light shine on it. [3]
5 יִגְאָלֻ֡הוּ [4] Pazer
חֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְ֭צַלְמָוֶת [3] Dechi
תִּשְׁכָּן־עָלָ֣יו עֲנָנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝בַעֲתֻ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּֽמְרִ֥ירֵי יֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 5 Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own. Let a cloud dwell on it. Let all that makes the day black terrify it. [4]
6 הַלַּ֥יְלָה הַהוּא֮ [3] Sinnor
יִקָּחֵ֪ה֫וּ אֹ֥פֶל [2] Ole Veyored
 
אַל־יִ֭חַדְּ [3] Dechi
בִּימֵ֣י שָׁנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר יְ֝רָחִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַל־יָבֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 6 As for that night, let thick darkness seize on it. Let it not rejoice among the days of the year. Let it not come into the number of the months. [3]
7 הִנֵּ֤ה הַלַּ֣יְלָה הַ֭הוּא [3] Dechi
יְהִ֣י גַלְמ֑וּד [2] Etnachta
 
אַל־תָּבֹ֖א רְנָנָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
בֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Behold, let that night be barren. Let no joyful voice come therein. [3]
8 יִקְּבֻ֥הוּ אֹרְרֵי־י֑וֹם [2] Etnachta
 
הָ֝עֲתִידִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֹרֵ֥ר לִוְיָתָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 8 Let them curse it who curse the day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan. [2]
 
9 יֶחְשְׁכוּ֮ [3] Sinnor
כּוֹכְבֵ֪י נִ֫שְׁפּ֥וֹ [2] Ole Veyored
 
יְקַו־לְא֥וֹר וָאַ֑יִן [2] Etnachta
וְאַל־יִ֝רְאֶ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּעַפְעַפֵּי־שָֽׁחַר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 9 Let the stars of its twilight be dark. Let it look for light, but have none, neither let it see the eyelids of the morning, [3]
10 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א סָ֭גַר [3] Dechi
דַּלְתֵ֣י בִטְנִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וַיַּסְתֵּ֥ר עָ֝מָ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵעֵינָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 because it didn’t shut up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor did it hide trouble from my eyes. [3]
11 לָ֤מָּה לֹּ֣א מֵרֶ֣חֶם [3] VDechi
אָמ֑וּת [2] Etnachta
 
מִבֶּ֖טֶן יָצָ֣אתִי [2] VRevMug
וְאֶגְוָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 “Why didn’t I die from the womb? Why didn’t I give up the spirit when my mother bore me? [3]
12 מַ֭דּוּעַ [3] Dechi
קִדְּמ֣וּנִי בִרְכָּ֑יִם [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַה־שָּׁ֝דַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י אִינָֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Why did the knees receive me? Or why the breast, that I should nurse? [3]
13 כִּֽי־עַ֭תָּה [3] Dechi
שָׁכַ֣בְתִּי וְאֶשְׁק֑וֹט [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝שַׁ֗נְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָ֤ז ׀ [4/2] Mahpakh Legarmeh
יָנ֬וּחַֽ לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 13 For now I should have lain down and been quiet. I should have slept, then I would have been at rest, [3]
14 עִם־מְ֭לָכִים [3] Dechi
וְיֹ֣עֲצֵי אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
הַבֹּנִ֖ים חֳרָב֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 with kings and counselors of the earth, who built up waste places for themselves, [3]
15 א֣וֹ עִם־שָׂ֭רִים [3] Dechi
זָהָ֣ב לָהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
הַֽמְמַלְאִ֖ים בָּתֵּיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
כָּֽסֶף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 or with princes who had gold, who filled their houses with silver: [3]
16 א֤וֹ כְנֵ֣פֶל טָ֭מוּן [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א אֶהְיֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
כְּ֝עֹלְלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־רָ֥אוּ אֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been, as infants who never saw light. [3]
17 שָׁ֣ם רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
חָ֣דְלוּ רֹ֑גֶז [2] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֥ם יָ֝נ֗וּחוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְגִ֣יעֵי כֹֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 There the wicked cease from troubling. There the weary are at rest. [3]
18 יַ֭חַד [3] Dechi
אֲסִירִ֣ים שַׁאֲנָ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta
 
לֹ֥א שָׁ֝מְע֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ק֣וֹל נֹגֵֽשׂ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 There the prisoners are at ease together. They don’t hear the voice of the taskmaster. [3]
19 קָטֹ֣ן וְ֭גָדוֹל [3] Dechi
שָׁ֣ם ה֑וּא [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עֶ֗בֶד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חָפְשִׁ֥י מֵאֲדֹנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 The small and the great are there. The servant is free from his master. [3]
20 לָ֤מָּה יִתֵּ֣ן לְעָמֵ֣ל [3] VDechi
א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝חַיִּ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְמָ֣רֵי נָֽפֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 “Why is light given to him who is in misery, life to the bitter in soul, [3]
21 הַֽמְחַכִּ֣ים לַמָּ֣וֶת [3] VDechi
וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וַֽ֝יַּחְפְּרֻ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִמַּטְמוֹנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Who long for death, but it doesn’t come; and dig for it more than for hidden treasures, [3]
22 הַשְּׂמֵחִ֥ים אֱלֵי־גִ֑יל [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝שִׂ֗ישׂוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י יִמְצְאוּ־קָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 22 who rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave? [2]
 
23 לְ֭גֶבֶר [3] Dechi
אֲשֶׁר־דַּרְכּ֣וֹ נִסְתָּ֑רָה [2] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֖סֶךְ אֱל֣וֹהַּ [2] VRevMug
בַּעֲדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in? [3]
24 כִּֽי־לִפְנֵ֣י לַ֭חְמִי [3] Dechi
אַנְחָתִ֣י תָבֹ֑א [2] Etnachta
 
וַֽיִּתְּכ֥וּ כַ֝מַּ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַׁאֲגֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 For my sighing comes before I eat. My groanings are poured out like water. [3]
25 כִּ֤י פַ֣חַד פָּ֭חַדְתִּי [3] Dechi
וַיֶּאֱתָיֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָ֝גֹ֗רְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָ֣בֹא לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 For the thing which I fear comes on me, That which I am afraid of comes to me. [3]
26 לֹ֤א שָׁלַ֨וְתִּי ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
וְלֹ֖א שָׁקַ֥טְתִּי וְֽלֹא־נָ֗חְתִּי [3/2] Revi'i
וַיָּ֥בֹא רֹֽגֶז׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 26 I am not at ease, neither am I quiet, neither do I have rest; but trouble comes.” ¶ [4]
