1 וַ֭יַּעַן [3] Dechi
אֱלִיפַ֥ז הַֽתֵּימָנִ֗י [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, [3]
2 הֲנִסָּ֬ה דָבָ֣ר אֵלֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
תִּלְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וַעְצֹ֥ר בְּ֝מִלִּ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יוּכָֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking? [3]
3 הִ֭נֵּה [3] Dechi
יִסַּ֣רְתָּ רַבִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְיָדַ֖יִם רָפ֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
תְּחַזֵּֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands. [3]
4 כּ֭וֹשֵׁל [3] Dechi
יְקִימ֣וּן מִלֶּ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וּבִרְכַּ֖יִם כֹּרְע֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
תְּאַמֵּֽץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Your words have supported him who was falling, You have made the feeble knees firm. [3]
5 כִּ֤י עַתָּ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
תָּב֣וֹא אֵלֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
וַתֵּ֑לֶא [2] Etnachta
 
תִּגַּ֥ע עָ֝דֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַתִּבָּהֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 5 But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled. [4]
6 הֲלֹ֣א יִ֭רְאָתְךָ [3] Dechi
כִּסְלָתֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
תִּ֝קְוָתְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְתֹ֣ם דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope? [3]
7 זְכָר־נָ֗א [3] Revi'i
מִ֤י ה֣וּא נָקִ֣י [3] VDechi
אָבָ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֵיפֹ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְשָׁרִ֥ים נִכְחָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 7 “Remember, now, whoever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off? [3]
8 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר רָ֭אִיתִי [3] Dechi
חֹ֣רְשֵׁי אָ֑וֶן [2] Etnachta
 
וְזֹרְעֵ֖י עָמָ֣ל [2] VRevMug
יִקְצְרֻֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and sow trouble, reap the same. [3]
9 מִנִּשְׁמַ֣ת אֱל֣וֹהַ [3] VDechi
יֹאבֵ֑דוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֵר֖וּחַ אַפּ֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
יִכְלֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed. [3]
10 שַׁאֲגַ֣ת אַ֭רְיֵה [3] Dechi
וְק֣וֹל שָׁ֑חַל [2] Etnachta
 
וְשִׁנֵּ֖י כְפִירִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
נִתָּֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions, are broken. [3]
11 לַ֭יִשׁ [3] Dechi
אֹבֵ֣ד מִבְּלִי־טָ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְנֵ֥י לָ֝בִ֗יא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְפָּרָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad. [3]
12 וְ֭אֵלַי [3] Dechi
דָּבָ֣ר יְגֻנָּ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וַתִּקַּ֥ח אָ֝זְנִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שֵׁ֣מֶץ מֶֽנְהֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 “Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it. [3]
13 בִּ֭שְׂעִפִּים [3] Dechi
מֵחֶזְיֹנ֣וֹת לָ֑יְלָה [2] Etnachta
 
בִּנְפֹ֥ל תַּ֝רְדֵּמָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־אֲנָשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, [3]
14 פַּ֣חַד קְ֭רָאַנִי [3] Dechi
וּרְעָדָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְרֹ֖ב עַצְמוֹתַ֣י [2] VRevMug
הִפְחִֽיד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake. [3]
15 וְ֭רוּחַ [3] Dechi
עַל־פָּנַ֣י יַחֲלֹ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
תְּ֝סַמֵּ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַֽׂעֲרַ֥ת בְּשָׂרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up. [3]
16 יַעֲמֹ֤ד ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
וְֽלֹא־אַכִּ֬יר מַרְאֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i
 
תְּ֭מוּנָה [3] Dechi
לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
דְּמָמָ֖ה וָק֣וֹל [2] VRevMug
אֶשְׁמָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 16 It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying, [4]
17 הַֽ֭אֱנוֹשׁ [3] Dechi
מֵאֱל֣וֹהַ יִצְדָּ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
אִ֥ם מֵ֝עֹשֵׂ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִטְהַר־גָּֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 ‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker? [3]
18 הֵ֣ן בַּ֭עֲבָדָיו [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בְמַלְאָכָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָשִׂ֥ים תָּהֳלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error. [3]
19 אַ֤ף ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
שֹׁכְנֵ֬י בָֽתֵּי־חֹ֗מֶר [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁר־בֶּעָפָ֥ר יְסוֹדָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝דַכְּא֗וּם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִפְנֵי־עָֽשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 19 How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth! [4]
20 מִבֹּ֣קֶר לָעֶ֣רֶב [3] VDechi
יֻכַּ֑תּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
מִבְּלִ֥י מֵ֝שִׂ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָנֶ֥צַח יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it. [3]
21 הֲלֹא־נִסַּ֣ע יִתְרָ֣ם [3] VDechi
בָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝מ֗וּתוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א בְחָכְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’ ¶ [3]
