1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 Then Job answered, [3/2]
2 אָ֭מְנָם [3] Dechi
יָדַ֣עְתִּי כִי־כֵ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַה־יִּצְדַּ֖ק אֱנ֣וֹשׁ [2] VRevMug
עִם־אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God? [3]
3 אִם־יַ֭חְפֹּץ [3] Dechi
לָרִ֣יב עִמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
לֹֽא־יַ֝עֲנֶ֗נּוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַחַ֥ת מִנִּי־אָֽלֶף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 If he is pleased to contend with him, he can’t answer him one time in a thousand. [3]
4 חֲכַ֣ם לֵ֭בָב [3] Dechi
וְאַמִּ֣יץ כֹּ֑חַ [2] Etnachta
 
מִֽי־הִקְשָׁ֥ה אֵ֝לָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַיִּשְׁלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered? [3]
5 הַמַּעְתִּ֣יק הָ֭רִים [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יָדָ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר הֲפָכָ֣ם [2] VRevMug
בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 He removes the mountains, and they don’t know it, when he overturns them in his anger. [3]
6 הַמַּרְגִּ֣יז אֶ֭רֶץ [3] Dechi
מִמְּקוֹמָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עַמּוּדֶ֗יהָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְפַלָּצֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble. [3]
7 הָאֹמֵ֣ר לַ֭חֶרֶס [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יִזְרָ֑ח [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְעַ֖ד כּוֹכָבִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יַחְתֹּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 He commands the sun and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars. [3]
8 נֹטֶ֣ה שָׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi
לְבַדּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝דוֹרֵ֗ךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־בָּ֥מֳתֵי יָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. [3]
9 עֹֽשֶׂה־עָ֭שׁ [3] Dechi
כְּסִ֥יל וְכִימָ֗ה [3/2] Revi'i
וְחַדְרֵ֥י תֵמָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 9 He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south. [3]
10 עֹשֶׂ֣ה גְ֭דֹלוֹת [3] Dechi
עַד־אֵ֣ין חֵ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וְנִפְלָא֗וֹת [3/2] Revi'i
עַד־אֵ֥ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number. [3]
11 הֵ֤ן יַעֲבֹ֣ר עָ֭לַי [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א אֶרְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יַחֲלֹ֗ף [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְֽלֹא־אָבִ֥ין לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Behold, he goes by me, and I don’t see him. He passes on also, but I don’t perceive him. [3]
12 הֵ֣ן יַ֭חְתֹּף [3] Dechi
מִ֣י יְשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
מִֽי־יֹאמַ֥ר אֵ֝לָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַֽה־תַּעֲשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Behold, he snatches away. Who can hinder him? Who will ask him, ‘What are you doing?’ [3]
13 אֱ֭לוֹהַּ [3] Dechi
לֹא־יָשִׁ֣יב אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
*תחתו **תַּחְתָּ֥יו שָׁ֝חֲח֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֹ֣זְרֵי רָֽהַב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 “God will not withdraw his anger. The helpers of Rahab stoop under him. [3]
14 אַ֭ף [3] Dechi
כִּֽי־אָנֹכִ֣י אֶֽעֱנֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
אֶבְחֲרָ֖ה דְבָרַ֣י [2] VRevMug
עִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 How much less will I answer him, And choose my words to argue with him? [3]
15 אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִם־צָ֭דַקְתִּי [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א אֶעֱנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
לִ֝מְשֹׁפְטִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Though I were righteous, yet I wouldn’t answer him. I would make supplication to my judge. [3]
16 אִם־קָרָ֥אתִי וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
לֹֽא־אַ֝אֲמִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּֽי־יַאֲזִ֥ין קוֹלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 16 If I had called, and he had answered me, yet I wouldn’t believe that he listened to my voice. [2]
 
17 אֲשֶׁר־בִּשְׂעָרָ֥ה יְשׁוּפֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְהִרְבָּ֖ה פְצָעַ֣י [2] VRevMug
חִנָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 17 For he breaks me with a storm, and multiplies my wounds without cause. [2]
 
18 לֹֽא־יִ֭תְּנֵנִי [3] Dechi
הָשֵׁ֣ב רוּחִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י יַ֝שְׂבִּעַ֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַמְּרֹרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 He will not allow me to catch my breath, but fills me with bitterness. [3]
19 אִם־לְכֹ֣חַ אַמִּ֣יץ [3] VDechi
הִנֵּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־לְ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יוֹעִידֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 If it is a matter of strength, behold, he is mighty! If of justice, ‘Who,’ says he, ‘will summon me?’ [3]
20 אִם־אֶ֭צְדָּק [3] Dechi
פִּ֣י יַרְשִׁיעֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
תָּֽם־אָ֝֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַֽיַּעְקְשֵֽׁנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse. [3]
21 תָּֽם־אָ֭נִי [3] Dechi
לֹֽא־אֵדַ֥ע נַפְשִׁ֗י [3/2] Revi'i
אֶמְאַ֥ס חַיָּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 21 I am blameless. I don’t respect myself. I despise my life. [3]
22 אַחַ֗ת [3] Revi'i
הִ֥יא עַל־כֵּ֥ן אָמַ֑רְתִּי [2] Etnachta
 
תָּ֥ם וְ֝רָשָׁ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ה֣וּא מְכַלֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 “It is all the same. Therefore I say he destroys the blameless and the wicked. [3]
23 אִם־שׁ֭וֹט [3] Dechi
יָמִ֣ית פִּתְאֹ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
לְמַסַּ֖ת נְקִיִּ֣ם [2] VRevMug
יִלְעָֽג׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 If the scourge kills suddenly, he will mock at the trial of the innocent. [3]
24 אֶ֤רֶץ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
נִתְּנָ֬ה בְֽיַד־רָשָׁ֗ע [3] Revi'i
פְּנֵֽי־שֹׁפְטֶ֥יהָ יְכַסֶּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־לֹ֖א אֵפ֣וֹא [2] VRevMug
מִי־הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of its judges. If not he, then who is it? [4]
25 וְיָמַ֣י קַ֭לּוּ [3] Dechi
מִנִּי־רָ֑ץ [2] Etnachta
 
בָּֽ֝רְח֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־רָא֥וּ טוֹבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 “Now my days are swifter than a runner. They flee away. They see no good. [3]
26 חָ֭לְפוּ [3] Dechi
עִם־אֳנִיּ֣וֹת אֵבֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
כְּ֝נֶ֗שֶׁר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָט֥וּשׂ עֲלֵי־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 They have passed away as the swift ships, as the eagle that swoops on the prey. [3]
27 אִם־אָ֭מְרִי [3] Dechi
אֶשְׁכְּחָ֣ה שִׂיחִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
אֶעֶזְבָ֖ה פָנַ֣י [2] VRevMug
וְאַבְלִֽיגָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint, I will put off my sad face, and cheer up,’ [3]
28 יָגֹ֥רְתִּי כָל־עַצְּבֹתָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־לֹ֥א תְנַקֵּֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that you will not hold me innocent. [2]
 
29 אָנֹכִ֥י אֶרְשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
לָמָּה־זֶּ֝֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הֶ֣בֶל אִיגָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 29 I will be condemned. Why then do I labor in vain? [2]
 
30 אִם־הִתְרָחַ֥צְתִּי *במו־**בְמֵי־שָׁ֑לֶג [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝הֲזִכּ֗וֹתִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּבֹ֣ר כַּפָּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 30 If I wash myself with snow, and cleanse my hands with lye, [2]
 
31 אָ֭ז [3] Dechi
בַּשַּׁ֣חַת תִּטְבְּלֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תִֽעֲב֗וּנִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַׂלְמוֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 yet you will plunge me in the ditch. My own clothes will abhor me. [3]
32 כִּי־לֹא־אִ֣ישׁ כָּמֹ֣נִי [3] VDechi
אֶֽעֱנֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
נָב֥וֹא יַ֝חְדָּ֗ו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment. [3]
33 לֹ֣א יֵשׁ־בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ [3] VDechi
מוֹכִ֑יחַ [2] Etnachta
 
יָשֵׁ֖ת יָד֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
עַל־שְׁנֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 33 There is no umpire between us, that might lay his hand on us both. [3]
34 יָסֵ֣ר מֵעָלַ֣י [3] VDechi
שִׁבְט֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֵמָת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַֽל־תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 34 Let him take his rod away from me. Let his terror not make me afraid, [3]
35 אַֽ֭דַבְּרָה [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א אִירָאֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י לֹא־כֵ֥ן אָ֝נֹכִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עִמָּדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 35 then I would speak, and not fear him, for I am not so in myself. ¶ [3]
