1 בֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi
מ֣וּסַר אָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝לֵ֗ץ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke. [3]
2 מִפְּרִ֣י פִי־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi
יֹ֣אכַל ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ בֹּגְדִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
חָמָֽס׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful crave violence. [3]
3 נֹצֵ֣ר פִּ֭יו [3] Dechi
שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
פֹּשֵׂ֥ק שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מְחִתָּה־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. [3]
4 מִתְאַוָּ֣ה וָ֭אַיִן [3] Dechi
נַפְשׁ֣וֹ עָצֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ חָרֻצִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
תְּדֻשָּֽׁן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied. [3]
5 דְּבַר־שֶׁ֭קֶר [3] Dechi
יִשְׂנָ֣א צַדִּ֑יק [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רָשָׁ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַבְאִ֥ישׁ וְיַחְפִּֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace. [3]
6 צְ֭דָקָה [3] Dechi
תִּצֹּ֣ר תָּם־דָּ֑רֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רִשְׁעָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תְּסַלֵּ֥ף חַטָּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. [3]
7 יֵ֣שׁ מִ֭תְעַשֵּׁר [3] Dechi
וְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝תְרוֹשֵׁ֗שׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְה֣וֹן רָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth. [3]
8 כֹּ֣פֶר נֶֽפֶשׁ־אִ֣ישׁ [3] VDechi
עָשְׁר֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רָ֗שׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats. [3]
9 אוֹר־צַדִּיקִ֥ים יִשְׂמָ֑ח [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֵ֖ר רְשָׁעִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יִדְעָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 9 The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out. [2]
 
10 רַק־בְּ֭זָדוֹן [3] Dechi
יִתֵּ֣ן מַצָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־נ֖וֹעָצִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
חָכְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice. [3]
11 ה֭וֹן [3] Dechi
מֵהֶ֣בֶל יִמְעָ֑ט [2] Etnachta
 
וְקֹבֵ֖ץ עַל־יָ֣ד [2] VRevMug
יַרְבֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. [3]
12 תּוֹחֶ֣לֶת מְ֭מֻשָּׁכָה [3] Dechi
מַחֲלָה־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וְעֵ֥ץ חַ֝יִּ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּאֲוָ֥ה בָאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. [3]
13 בָּ֣ז לְ֭דָבָר [3] Dechi
יֵחָ֣בֶל ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וִירֵ֥א מִ֝צְוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ה֣וּא יְשֻׁלָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded. [3]
14 תּוֹרַ֣ת חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi
מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
לָ֝ס֗וּר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death. [3]
15 שֵֽׂכֶל־ט֭וֹב [3] Dechi
יִתֶּן־חֵ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
וְדֶ֖רֶךְ בֹּגְדִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
אֵיתָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard. [3]
16 כָּל־עָ֭רוּם [3] Dechi
יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה בְדָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝כְסִ֗יל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִפְרֹ֥שׂ אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly. [3]
17 מַלְאָ֣ךְ רָ֭שָׁע [3] Dechi
יִפֹּ֣ל בְּרָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וְצִ֖יר אֱמוּנִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
מַרְפֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing. [3]
18 רֵ֣ישׁ וְ֭קָלוֹן [3] Dechi
פּוֹרֵ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וְשׁוֹמֵ֖ר תּוֹכַ֣חַת [2] VRevMug
יְכֻבָּֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored. [3]
19 תַּאֲוָ֣ה נִ֭הְיָה [3] Dechi
תֶּעֱרַ֣ב לְנָ֑פֶשׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וְתוֹעֲבַ֥ת כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil. [3]
20 *הלוך **הוֹלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־חֲכָמִ֣ים [3] VDechi
*וחכם **יֶחְכָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְרֹעֶ֖ה כְסִילִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יֵרֽוֹעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. [3]
21 חַ֭טָּאִים [3] Dechi
תְּרַדֵּ֣ף רָעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־צַ֝דִּיקִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְשַׁלֶּם־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. [3]
22 ט֗וֹב [3] Revi'i
יַנְחִ֥יל בְּנֵֽי־בָנִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְצָפ֥וּן לַ֝צַּדִּ֗יק [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֵ֣יל חוֹטֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous. [3]
23 רָב־אֹ֭כֶל [3] Dechi
נִ֣יר רָאשִׁ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְיֵ֥שׁ נִ֝סְפֶּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 An abundance of food is in poor people’s fields, but injustice sweeps it away. [3]
24 חוֹשֵׂ֣ךְ שִׁ֭בְטוֹ [3] Dechi
שׂוֹנֵ֣א בְנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֹהֲב֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שִֽׁחֲר֥וֹ מוּסָֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him. [3]

אֹ֭כֵל [3] Dechi
לְשֹׂ֣בַע נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וּבֶ֖טֶן רְשָׁעִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
