12:13 Yeshua answers about payment of taxes

(Mat. 22:15-22, Luke 20:20-26)

13Then the religious leaders sent some members of the Pharisee party and some of the political supporters of King Herod to try to catch Yeshua out. 14So they flattered him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest even if it upsets others, and that you teach the truth about God without caring about people’s opinions. Is it legal for us Jews to pay the poll tax to the Roman emperor or not? How should we handle this?”

15But knowing their hypocrisy, Yeshua responded to them, “Why are you trying to test me? Bring me a coin so we can determine the proper answer.

16When they brought him a coin, he asked, “Whose image and inscription are on this coin?

And they said, “The emperor’s.”

17Well then,” said Yeshua, “give to the emperor whatever is due him, but give God what is owed to God.

And they had to admit that that was an outstanding answer.

13And they_are_sending_out some of_the Farisaios_party and of_the supporters_of_Haʸrōdaʸs to him, in_order_that they_may_catch him in_a_statement.
14And having_come, they_are_saying to_him:
Teacher, we_have_known that you_are true, and is_ not _caring to_you about no_one, because/for you_are_ not _looking on appearance of_people, but you_are_teaching the way of_ the _god with the_truth.
Is_it_permitting to_give a_poll_tax to_Kaisar or not?
May_we_give or we_may_ not _give?
15And he having_known the hypocrisy of_them, said to_them:
Why are_you_all_testing me?
Be_bringing to_me a_daʸnarion_coin, in_order_that I_may_see it.
16And they brought it.
And he_is_saying to_them:
Of_whose is the this image and the inscription?
And they said to_him:
Of_Kaisar.
17And the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) said to_them:
The things of_Kaisar give_back to_Kaisar, and the things of_ the _god to_ the _god.
And they_were_begrudgingly_amazed at him.
