The Ascension

The Ascension

6So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are yoʋ going to restore the kingdom to Israel at this time?” 7He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has set by his own authority, 8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be [fn]witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10As he went, they were gazing up into the sky, when behold, two men in white clothing were standing beside them. 11They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here [fn]staring into the sky? This Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
