BETH-JESHIMOTH

City assigned to Reuben’s tribe (Jos 13:20), later described as a Moabite town (Ez 25:9). Prior to Israel’s conquest of the Promised Land, they made camp along the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth to Abel-shittim (Nm 33:49). The city is usually identified with Tell el-Azeimeh.
