1:3 Yeshua, alive, tells them to wait
3 After the time of his suffering, Yeshua presented himself to them in ways that were infallible proofs that he was alive again—appearing to them and telling them about God’s kingdom. 4 [ref]Once when they were together, he told them, “Don’t leave Yerusalem, but wait there for what was promised by the father, as you all have already heard me say. 5 [ref]Yohan immersed people in water, but you all will be immersed in the holy spirit in just a few days.”
Luk 24:49:
49 [ref]Soon I’ll be sending out the one that my father promised to you all, but first you must sit here in the city until you all get clothed in power that comes from heaven.”
Mat 3:11:
11 I’m immersing people in water as a sign that they’re turning away from their sins, but there’s another one coming after me who’s greater than me—so much so that I’m not even worthy to carry his sandals. He’ll immerse you in the holy spirit and fire.
Mrk 1:8:
8 I immersed you in water, but he will immerse you all in God’s holy spirit.”
Luk 3:16:
16 but he explained to them all, “I’ve been immersing you all in water, but there’s one coming who’s greater than me, in fact I’m not even worthy to unlace his sandals. He will immerse you all with the holy spirit and with fire.
Jn 1:33:
33 I didn’t know which one was him, but the one who sent me to immerse people in water said, ‘When you see the spirit coming down and settling on someone, he is the one who will immerse people with God’s holy spirit.’
