1 וַיָּבֹ֣א רְחַבְעָם֮ [3] Munach Zarqa
יְרוּשָׁלַ֒͏ִם֒ [2] Segol
 
וַיַּקְהֵל֩ אֶת־בֵּ֨ית יְהוּדָ֜ה [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
וּבִנְיָמִ֗ן [3] Revi'a
 
מֵאָ֨ה וּשְׁמוֹנִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶף [3] Qadma Merkha Tevir
בָּח֖וּר [2] Tip'cha
 
עֹשֵׂ֣ה מִלְחָמָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
לְהִלָּחֵם֙ [3] Pashta
עִם־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha

1 2 3 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 1 When Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, one hundred eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam. [3]

בִּיהוּדָ֥ה וּבִנְיָמִ֖ן [2] Merkha Tip'cha

1 2 2 2 3 2 3 “Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying, [2]

לֹא־תַעֲלוּ֩ וְלֹא־תִלָּ֨חֲמ֜וּ [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh

הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ [2] Tip'cha
מִלֶּ֥כֶת אֶל־יָרׇבְעָֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 4 4 3 2 3 2 3 2 4 ‘The LORD says, “You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Every man return to his house; for this thing is of me.” ’ ” So they listened to the LORD’s words, and returned from going against Jeroboam. ¶ [4]

1 2 2 3 5 Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah. [2]
6 וַיִּ֧בֶן אֶת־בֵּֽית־לֶ֛חֶם [3] Darga Tevir
וְאֶת־עֵיטָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־תְּקֽוֹעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 6 He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa, [3]
7 וְאֶת־בֵּֽית־צ֥וּר וְאֶת־שׂוֹכ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְאֶת־עֲדֻלָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 7 Beth Zur, Soco, Adullam, [2]
8 וְאֶת־גַּ֥ת וְאֶת־מָרֵשָׁ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְאֶת־זִֽיף׃ [1] Silluq
2 8 Gath, Mareshah, Ziph, [2]
9 וְאֶת־אֲדוֹרַ֥יִם וְאֶת־לָכִ֖ישׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְאֶת־עֲזֵקָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 9 Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah, [2]
10 וְאֶת־צׇרְעָה֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־אַיָּל֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶ֨ת־חֶבְר֔וֹן [2] Qadma Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּֽיהוּדָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha

מְצֻרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 10 Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, which are fortified cities in Judah and in Benjamin. [3]
11 וַיְחַזֵּ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַמְּצוּר֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּתֵּ֤ן בָּהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
נְגִידִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֹצְר֥וֹת מַאֲכָ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְשֶׁ֥מֶן וָיָֽיִן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 11 He fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of food, oil and wine. [2]
12 וּבְכׇל־עִ֤יר וָעִיר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta

וַֽיְחַזְּקֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha

1 2 3 2 2 12 He put shields and spears in every city, and made them exceedingly strong. Judah and Benjamin belonged to him. ¶ [3]

1 2 3 2 2 13 The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel stood with him out of all their territory. [3]
14 כִּֽי־עָזְב֣וּ הַלְוִיִּ֗ם [3] Munach Revi'a
אֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
וַאֲחֻזָּתָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ לִֽיהוּדָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha

1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 14 For the Levites left their pasture lands and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem; for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest’s office to the LORD. [3]

1 2 3 2 2 15 He himself appointed priests for the high places, for the male goats, and for the calves which he had made. [3]

כִּ֣י הָלְכ֗וּ [3] Munach Revi'a
בְּדֶ֧רֶךְ דָּוִ֛יד [3] Darga Tevir
וּשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְשָׁנִ֥ים שָׁלֽוֹשׁ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 3 17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years; for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon. ¶ [3]

1 2 2 19 She bore him sons: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham. [2]
20 וְאַחֲרֶ֣יהָ לָקַ֔ח [2] Munach Zaqef

בַּת־אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֗וֹ [3] Munach Revi'a
אֶת־אֲבִיָּה֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־עַתַּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־זִיזָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־שְׁלֹמִֽית׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 3 2 20 After her, he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith. [2]

1 2 3 2 22 Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, the prince among his brothers; for he intended to make him king. [3]
