in his heart [2]

that he would not defile himself [3]
with the delicacies of the king, [2]
or with the wine which he drank; [1]

so he requested [3]
from the chief of the officials [2]

that [2]

לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 3 2 2 2 3 4 4 3 2 10 And he said, [4]
the chief of the officials, [3]
to Daniel, [2]

“I fear [3]
my lord the king, [2]

who has appointed [2]
your food [2]
and your drink; [1]

for [4]
why should he see your faces [4]
looking thin, [3]

more than the young men [3]
who are of your age? [2]

Then you would endanger my head [2]
to the king.” [1]
11 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר דָּנִיֵּ֖אל [2] Tip'cha

מִֽישָׁאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
וַעֲזַרְיָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 11 So Daniel said [2]
to the steward; [1]

over Daniel, Hananiah [2]
Mishael [2]
and Azariah, [1]

1 2 3 2 3 2 2 2 2 13 Then let them be observed before you, [3 3]
our appearance, [2]

and the appearance [3]
of the young men [2]

who eat [2]

the delicacies of the king; [1]

and just as you see, [2]
deal [2]
with your servants.” [1]
14 וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha

1 2 3 2 3 2 2 2 2 15 And at the end [3]
of ten days, [2]

their appearance looked [3]

and fatter [2]
in flesh; [1]

more than all the young men, [2]
who were eating [2]

that they would drink; [1]

and gave to them [2]
