1 In the first year [3] of Darius [3] the son of Ahasuerus, [2] of the offspring of the Medes, [1] over [2] the realm of the Kasdim, [1] |

2 בִּשְׁנַ֤ת אַחַת֙ [3] Pashta לְמׇלְכ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל [2] Zaqef בַּסְּפָרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֤ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֣ה הַנָּבִ֔יא [2] Zaqef לְחׇרְב֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם [2] Tip'cha שִׁבְעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 in the first year [3] of his reign [2] Daniel, [2] in the scrolls [1] about which the word of the LORD came [3] to Jeremiah the prophet; [2] the desolations of Jerusalem, [2] seventy years. [1] |

3 And I set my face [3] to the Lord [3] God, [2] and petitions, [1] and sackcloth and ashes. [1] |

4 וָֽאֶתְפַּֽלְלָ֛ה [3] Tevir לַיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖י [2] Tip'cha וָאֶתְוַדֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta אָנָּ֤א אֲדֹנָי֙ [3] Pashta הָאֵ֤ל הַגָּדוֹל֙ [3] Pashta וְהַנּוֹרָ֔א [2] Zaqef וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד [2] Zaqef וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י מִצְוֺתָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And I prayed [3] to the LORD my God, [2] and I confessed, [1] “I beg you O Lord, [3] the God the great [3] and the awesome, [2] and the lovingkindness [2] and to those who keep his commandments, [1] |

5 חָטָ֥אנוּ וְעָוִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha *והרשענו **הִרְשַׁ֣עְנוּ וּמָרָ֑דְנוּ [1] Etnachta וּמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
5 we have sinned and have committed iniquity, [2] and we have acted wickedly and have rebelled, [1] and from your ordinances. [1] |

6 וְלֹ֤א שָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta אֶל־עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בְּשִׁמְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef וַאֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta כׇּל־עַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And we have not listened [3 3] to your servants the prophets, [2] in your name [2] and our ancestors, [1] all the people of the land. [1] |

7 לְךָ֤ אֲדֹנָי֙ [3] Pashta הַצְּדָקָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בֹּ֥שֶׁת הַפָּנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta וּלְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef הַקְּרֹבִ֣ים וְהָרְחֹקִ֗ים [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִדַּחְתָּ֣ם שָׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָֽעֲלוּ־בָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 “O Lord to you belongs [3] the righteousness, [2] the shame of face [2] as this day, [1] and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [2] who are near and who are far off, [3] to which you have banished them, [2] by which they acted unfaithfully against you. [1] |

8 יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i לָ֚נוּ [3] Yetiv בֹּ֣שֶׁת הַפָּנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef וְלַאֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
8 O Lord, [3] to us belongs [3] the shame of face, [2] and to our ancestors; [1] against you. [1] |

9 לַֽאדֹנָ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef הָרַחֲמִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha וְהַסְּלִח֑וֹת [1] Etnachta בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
9 To the Lord our God belong [2] the mercies [2] and the forgiveness; [1] against him. [1] |

10 וְלֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔עְנוּ [2] Zaqef בְּק֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣ן לְפָנֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef עֲבָדָ֥יו הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And we have not listened [2] to the voice [2] of the LORD our God; [1] which he set before us, [2] of his servants the prophets. [1] |

11 וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל [3] Revi'i עָֽבְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta אֶת־תּ֣וֹרָתֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef לְבִלְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha שְׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּקֹלֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta הָאָלָ֣ה וְהַשְּׁבֻעָ֗ה [3] Revi'i בְּתוֹרַת֙ [3] Pashta מֹשֶׁ֣ה עֶֽבֶד־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And all Israel, [3] they have transgressed [3] your law, [2] to not [2] listen to your voice; [1] the curse and the oath, [3] in the Torah [3] of Moses the servant of God, [2] against him. [1] |

12 וַיָּ֜קֶם [4] Geresh אֶת־*דבריו **דְּבָר֣וֹ ׀ [4] Legarmeh אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֣ר עָלֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁפָט֔וּנוּ [2] Zaqef רָעָ֣ה גְדֹלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta תַּ֚חַת [3] Yetiv כׇּל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And he has carried out [4] his words [4] which he spoke against us, [3] who judged us, [2] a great calamity; [1] under [3] all the heavens, [2] to Jerusalem. [1] |

13 כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר כָּתוּב֙ [3] Pashta בְּתוֹרַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef כׇּל־הָרָעָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את [2] Tip'cha בָּ֣אָה עָלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י ׀ [4] Legarmeh יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i מֵֽעֲוֺנֵ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef בַּאֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
13 As it is written [3] in the Torah of Moses, [2] all this calamity, [2] it has come on us; [1] the face [4] of the LORD our God, [3] from our iniquity, [2] to your faithfulness. [1] |

14 וַיִּשְׁקֹ֤ד יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta עַל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef עָלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef בְּקֹלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And the LORD kept watch [3] over the calamity, [2] on us; [1] is the LORD our God, [3] which he has done, [2] to his voice. [1] |

15 וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh אֲדֹנָ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i מֵאֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta בְּיָ֣ד חֲזָקָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 And now [4] O Lord our God, [3] from the land of Egypt [3 3] with a mighty hand, [2] as it is this day; [1] we have acted wickedly. [1] |

16 אֲדֹנָ֗י [3] Revi'i כְּכׇל־צִדְקֹתֶ֙ךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta יָֽשׇׁב־נָ֤א אַפְּךָ֙ [3] Pashta וַחֲמָ֣תְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef הַר־קׇדְשֶׁ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta וּבַעֲוֺנ֣וֹת אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef לְחֶרְפָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְכׇל־סְבִיבֹתֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 O Lord, [3] according to all your righteousness, [3 3] let it please be turned away your anger [3] and your wrath [2] your holy mountain; [1] and by the iniquities of our ancestors, [2] have become a reproach [2] to all who are around us. [1] |

17 וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh שְׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i וְאֶל־תַּ֣חֲנוּנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef עַל־מִקְדָּשְׁךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha הַשָּׁמֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta אֲדֹנָֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
17 “Now therefore [4] listen our God, [3] and to his petitions, [2] on your sanctuary [2] that is desolate, [1] the Lord. [1] |

18 הַטֵּ֨ה אֱלֹהַ֥י ׀ אׇזְנְךָ֮ [3] Zarqa וּֽשְׁמָע֒ [2] Segol וּרְאֵה֙ [3] Pashta שֹֽׁמְמֹתֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שִׁמְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha עָלֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א עַל־צִדְקֹתֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i לְפָנֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef עַל־רַחֲמֶ֥יךָ הָרַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Turn O my God, your ear [3] and hear; [2] and see [3] our desolations, [2] which called by your name [2] it is; [1] not for our righteousness [3] before you, [2] for your great mercy. [1] |

19 אֲדֹנָ֤י ׀ שְׁמָ֙עָה֙ [3 3] Pashta אֲדֹנָ֣י ׀ סְלָ֔חָה [2] Zaqef הַֽקְשִׁ֥יבָה וַעֲשֵׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אַל־תְּאַחַ֑ר [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־שִׁמְךָ֣ נִקְרָ֔א [2] Zaqef עַל־עִירְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha וְעַל־עַמֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
19 O Lord, hear. [3 3] O Lord, forgive. [2] listen and act. [2] Do not delay; [1] because by your name are called [2] your city [2] and your people.” [1] |

20 וְע֨וֹד אֲנִ֤י מְדַבֵּר֙ [3] Pashta וּמִתְפַּלֵּ֔ל [2] Zaqef חַטָּאתִ֔י [2] Zaqef עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta לִפְנֵי֙ [3] Pashta יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֔י [2] Zaqef הַר־קֹ֥דֶשׁ אֱלֹהָֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And while I was still speaking [3] and praying, [2] my sin, [2] of my people Israel; [1] before [3] the LORD my God, [2] the holy mountain of my God; [1] |

21 וְע֛וֹד [3] Tevir אֲנִ֥י מְדַבֵּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha בַּתְּפִלָּ֑ה [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁר֩ רָאִ֨יתִי בֶחָז֤וֹן בַּתְּחִלָּה֙ [3] Pashta מֻעָ֣ף בִּיעָ֔ף [2] Zaqef כְּעֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha מִנְחַת־עָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq |
21 while [3] I was speaking [2] in prayer, [1] whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, [3] came swiftly, [2] about the time [2] of the evening offering. [1] |

22 And he gave understanding [2] and he spoke with me, [1] “O Daniel, [2] I have now come [2] to give you insight and understanding. [1] |

23 בִּתְחִלַּ֨ת תַּחֲנוּנֶ֜יךָ [4] Geresh יָצָ֣א דָבָ֗ר [3] Revi'i בָּ֣אתִי לְהַגִּ֔יד [2] Zaqef אָ֑תָּה [1] Etnachta בַּדָּבָ֔ר [2] Zaqef בַּמַּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
23 At the beginning of your petitions [4] a word went forth, [3] I have come to declare (it), [2] are you; [1] the word, [2] the vision. [1] |

24 שָׁבֻעִ֨ים שִׁבְעִ֜ים [4] Geresh נֶחְתַּ֥ךְ עַֽל־עַמְּךָ֣ ׀ [4] Legarmeh וְעַל־עִ֣יר קׇדְשֶׁ֗ךָ [3] Revi'i *ולחתם **וּלְהָתֵ֤ם *חטאות **חַטָּאת֙ [3] Pashta וּלְכַפֵּ֣ר עָוֺ֔ן [2] Zaqef צֶ֣דֶק עֹֽלָמִ֑ים [1] Etnachta חָז֣וֹן וְנָבִ֔יא [2] Zaqef קֹ֥דֶשׁ קׇֽדָשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq |
24 “Seventy weeks [4] are decreed for your people [4] and for your holy city, [3] and to put an end to sin [3] and to atone for iniquity, [2] everlasting righteousness; [1] vision and prophecy, [2] the most holy place. [1] |

25 וְתֵדַ֨ע וְתַשְׂכֵּ֜ל [4] Geresh מִן־מֹצָ֣א דָבָ֗ר [3] Revi'i וְלִבְנ֤וֹת יְרֽוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ [3 3] Pashta עַד־מָשִׁ֣יחַ נָגִ֔יד [2] Zaqef שִׁבְעָ֑ה [1] Etnachta שִׁשִּׁ֣ים וּשְׁנַ֗יִם [3] Revi'i וְנִבְנְתָה֙ [3] Pashta רְח֣וֹב וְחָר֔וּץ [2] Zaqef הָעִתִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
25 “So know and understand [4] from the going forth of the word, [3] and to rebuild Jerusalem [3 3] until an anointed prince, [2] seven; [1] sixty and two, [3] it will be built [3] with square and moat, [2] of the times. [1] |

26 וְאַחֲרֵ֤י הַשָּׁבֻעִים֙ [3] Pashta שִׁשִּׁ֣ים וּשְׁנַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef וְאֵ֣ין ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta יַ֠שְׁחִ֠ית [4 4] TelishaG עַ֣ם נָגִ֤יד הַבָּא֙ [3] Pashta וְקִצּ֣וֹ בַשֶּׁ֔טֶף [2] Zaqef קֵ֣ץ מִלְחָמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef שֹׁמֵמֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And after the weeks [3] sixty and two, [2] and he will have nothing. [1] will be destroyed [4 4] by the people of a prince who is coming, [3] but his end will come like a flood, [2] the end of war, [2] destruction. [1] |

27 And he will confirm a covenant [3] with many [2] for one week; [1] he will put an end to [4] sacrifice and offering, [3] will come one who destroys; [2] which has been decreed [2] on the one who destroys.” [1] ¶ |
