1 אִם־בַּמַּחְתֶּ֛רֶת [3] Tevir
יִמָּצֵ֥א הַגַּנָּ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
וְהֻכָּ֣ה וָמֵ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
אֵ֥ין ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
דָּמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 If in breaking in [3]
a thief is found, [2]
and he is struck so that he dies; [1]
 
there shall not for him [2]
be guilt of bloodshed. [1]
2 אִם־זָרְחָ֥ה הַשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ [3] Tevir
עָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
דָּמִ֣ים ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
שַׁלֵּ֣ם יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אִם־אֵ֣ין ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
וְנִמְכַּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְנֵבָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

on him, [2]
he is guilty of bloodshed; [1]
 
he shall make full restitution, [2]
if he has nothing, [2]
then he must be sold [2]
for his theft. [1]
3 אִֽם־הִמָּצֵא֩ תִמָּצֵ֨א בְיָד֜וֹ [4] Geresh

מִשּׁ֧וֹר עַד־חֲמ֛וֹר [3] Tevir
עַד־שֶׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha

שְׁנַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

from an ox to a donkey [3]
to a sheep, [2]

4 כִּ֤י יַבְעֶר־אִישׁ֙ [3] Pashta
שָׂדֶ֣ה אוֹ־כֶ֔רֶם [2] Zaqef
 
וְשִׁלַּח֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־בְּעִירֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וּבִעֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה אַחֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
מֵיטַ֥ב שָׂדֵ֛הוּ [3] Tevir
וּמֵיטַ֥ב כַּרְמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

a field or a vineyard, [2]
 
by letting loose [3]
his animal [2]
 
so it feeds [2]
in the field of another man; [1]
 
from the best of his field [3]
and from the best of his vineyard, [2]
he shall make restitution. [1]

5 כִּֽי־תֵצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ [4] Geresh
וּמָצְאָ֤ה קֹצִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְנֶאֱכַ֣ל גָּדִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
א֥וֹ הַקָּמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
א֣וֹ הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
שַׁלֵּ֣ם יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
הַמַּבְעִ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַבְּעֵרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and it spreads among thorns, [3]
so that consumed are stalks of grain, [2]
 
or the standing grain [2]
or the field; [1]
 
he must make full restitution, [2]
the one who lit [2]

6 כִּֽי־יִתֵּן֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֜הוּ [4] Geresh
כֶּ֤סֶף אֽוֹ־כֵלִים֙ [3] Pashta
לִשְׁמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
וְגֻנַּ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
מִבֵּ֣ית הָאִ֑ישׁ [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־יִמָּצֵ֥א הַגַּנָּ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם שְׁנָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

money or articles [3]
for safekeeping, [2]
 
and it is stolen [2]
from the house of the man; [1]
 
when the thief is found, [2]
he must pay back double. [1]
7 אִם־לֹ֤א יִמָּצֵא֙ [3] Pashta
הַגַּנָּ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
וְנִקְרַ֥ב בַּֽעַל־הַבַּ֖יִת [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח [3] Tevir
יָד֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq

the thief, [2]
 
then the master of the house shall be presented [2]
to God; [1]
 
to see if he has not laid [3]
his hand [2]
on his neighbor’s property. [1]

יָבֹ֖א [2] Tip'cha
דְּבַר־שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר יַרְשִׁיעֻן֙ [3] Pashta
אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם שְׁנַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
לְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq

the case of both parties; [1]
 
the one whom he convicts, [3]

shall repay double [2]

אוֹ־נִשְׁבַּ֥ר אוֹ־נִשְׁבָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵ֥ין רֹאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

or any animal [2]
to care for; [1]
 
and it dies [3]
or it is injured or it is taken away [2]
with no one seeing, [1]
10 שְׁבֻעַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
תִּהְיֶה֙ [3] Pashta
בֵּ֣ין שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אִם־לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֛ח [3] Tevir
יָד֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בִּמְלֶ֣אכֶת רֵעֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְלָקַ֥ח בְּעָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

it must be [3]
between the two of them, [2]
 
if he has not laid [3]
his hand [2]
on the property of his neighbor; [1]
 
and its owner shall accept it, [2]
and he shall not make restitution. [1]
11 וְאִם־גָּנֹ֥ב יִגָּנֵ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
מֵעִמּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לִבְעָלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 12 But if indeed it was stolen [2]
from him; [1]
 
he shall make restitution [2]
to its owner. [1]
12 אִם־טָרֹ֥ף יִטָּרֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
יְבִאֵ֣הוּ עֵ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
הַטְּרֵפָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 2 13 If it is torn in pieces, [2]
let him bring it as evidence; [1]
 
what has been torn to pieces, [2]
he shall not pay for. [1]
13 וְכִֽי־יִשְׁאַ֥ל אִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
מֵעִ֥ם רֵעֵ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
וְנִשְׁבַּ֣ר אוֹ־מֵ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
בְּעָלָ֥יו אֵין־עִמּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
שַׁלֵּ֥ם יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 14 “And if a man borrows anything [3]
from his neighbor, [2]
and it is injured or it dies; [1]
 
its owner not being with it, [2]
he must make full restitution. [1]
14 אִם־בְּעָלָ֥יו עִמּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א יְשַׁלֵּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־שָׂכִ֣יר ה֔וּא [2] Zaqef
בָּ֖א [2] Tip'cha
בִּשְׂכָרֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 2 2 15 If its owner was with it, [2]
he shall not make restitution; [1]
 
if it was rented, [2]
it is covered [2]
by its rental fee. [1]

15 וְכִֽי־יְפַתֶּ֣ה אִ֗ישׁ [3] Revi'i
בְּתוּלָ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־אֹרָ֖שָׂה [2] Tip'cha
וְשָׁכַ֣ב עִמָּ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
מָהֹ֛ר [3] Tevir
יִמְהָרֶ֥נָּה לּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 16 “And if a man seduces [3]
a virgin [3]
who is not engaged, [2]
and he lies with her; [1]
 
surely [3]
he shall pay a dowry for her to be his [2]
as a wife. [1]
16 אִם־מָאֵ֧ן יְמָאֵ֛ן [3] Tevir
אָבִ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
לְתִתָּ֣הּ ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כֶּ֣סֶף יִשְׁקֹ֔ל [2] Zaqef
כְּמֹ֖הַר [2] Tip'cha
הַבְּתוּלֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq

her father, [2]
to give her to him; [1]
 
silver he must weigh out, [2]
equal to the dowry [2]
of virgins. [1]

17 מְכַשֵּׁפָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א תְחַיֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 18 “A sorceress [2]
you must not allow to live. [1]
18 כׇּל־שֹׁכֵ֥ב עִם־בְּהֵמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מ֥וֹת יוּמָֽת׃ [1] Silluq

2 19 “Anyone who lies with an animal, [2]
he must surely be put to death. [1]

19 זֹבֵ֥חַ לָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יׇֽחֳרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
בִּלְתִּ֥י לַיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 20 “Anyone who sacrifices to the gods, [2]
he shall be dedicated to destruction; [1]
 
except to the LORD, [2]
him alone. [1]
20 וְגֵ֥ר לֹא־תוֹנֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א תִלְחָצֶ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־גֵרִ֥ים הֱיִיתֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 21 “And a sojourner you must not exploit [2]
and you must not oppress him; [1]
 
for sojourners you were [2]
in the land of Egypt. [1]
21 כׇּל־אַלְמָנָ֥ה וְיָת֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א תְעַנּֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq
2 22 “Any widow or orphan [2]
you must not mistreat. [1]
22 אִם־עַנֵּ֥ה תְעַנֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֹת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י אִם־צָעֹ֤ק יִצְעַק֙ [3] Pashta
אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
שָׁמֹ֥עַ אֶשְׁמַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
צַעֲקָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 23 If in any way you mistreat [2]
him; [1]
 
if he cries out [3]
to me, [2]
 
I will surely hear [2]
his cry, [1]
23 וְחָרָ֣ה אַפִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
וְהָרַגְתִּ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בֶּחָ֑רֶב [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָי֤וּ נְשֵׁיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta
אַלְמָנ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְנֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְתֹמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and I will kill you [2]
with the sword; [1]
 
so your wives will become [3]
widows, [2]
 
and your children, [2]
orphans. [1]

תַּלְוֶ֣ה אֶת־עַמִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
אֶת־הֶֽעָנִי֙ [3] Pashta
עִמָּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
לֹא־תִהְיֶ֥ה ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
כְּנֹשֶׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
לֹֽא־תְשִׂימ֥וּן עָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
נֶֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq

you lend to my people, [3]
 
to the poor [3]
among you, [2]
 
you must not be to him [2]
as a creditor; [1]
 
you shall not charge him [2]
interest. [1]
25 אִם־חָבֹ֥ל תַּחְבֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
שַׂלְמַ֣ת רֵעֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
עַד־בֹּ֥א הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
תְּשִׁיבֶ֥נּוּ לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 26 If you ever take as a pledge, [2]
the cloak of your neighbor; [1]
 
before the sun goes down [2]
you shall return it to him, [1]
26 כִּ֣י הִ֤וא כְסוּתֹה֙ [3] Pashta
לְבַדָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
הִ֥וא שִׂמְלָת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לְעֹר֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
בַּמֶּ֣ה יִשְׁכָּ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
כִּֽי־יִצְעַ֣ק אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְשָׁמַעְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כִּֽי־חַנּ֥וּן אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

it alone, [2]
 
it is his cloak [2]
for his skin; [1]
 
in what will he lie down? [2]
 
And it will be, [3]
when he cries out to me, [2]

וְנָשִׂ֥יא בְעַמְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א תָאֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq

you shall not despise; [1]
 
and a leader of your people [2]
you shall not curse. [1]
28 מְלֵאָתְךָ֥ וְדִמְעֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א תְאַחֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
בְּכ֥וֹר בָּנֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
תִּתֶּן־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 29 “The fullness of your harvest or your vintage [2]
you shall not hold back; [1]
 
“the firstborn of your sons [2]
you shall present to me. [1]
29 כֵּֽן־תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה לְשֹׁרְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לְצֹאנֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
שִׁבְעַ֤ת יָמִים֙ [3] Pashta
יִהְיֶ֣ה עִם־אִמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
תִּתְּנוֹ־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 30 The same shall you do with your cattle, [2]
with your sheep; [1]
 
seven days [3]
it shall be with its mother, [2]
 
on the eighth day [2]
you shall present it to me. [1]
30 וְאַנְשֵׁי־קֹ֖דֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
תִּהְי֣וּן לִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וּבָשָׂ֨ר בַּשָּׂדֶ֤ה טְרֵפָה֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ [2] Zaqef
 
לַכֶּ֖לֶב [2] Tip'cha
תַּשְׁלִכ֥וּן אֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

you shall be to me; [1]
 
flesh in the field of a torn animal, [3]
you must not eat, [2]
 
to the dogs [2]
you shall throw it out. [1]
