2 If in breaking in [3] a thief is found, [2] and he is struck so that he dies; [1] be guilt of bloodshed. [1] |

3 If the sun has risen [3] on him, [2] he is guilty of bloodshed; [1] if he has nothing, [2] then he must be sold [2] for his theft. [1] |

4 If it is found in his hand, [4] the stolen property, [3] to a sheep, [2] he shall repay. [1] § |

5 “If a man causes to be eaten [3] a field or a vineyard, [2] his animal [2] in the field of another man; [1] and from the best of his vineyard, [2] he shall make restitution. [1] § |

6 “If fire breaks out [4] and it spreads among thorns, [3] so that consumed are stalks of grain, [2] or the field; [1] the one who lit [2] the fire. [1] § |

7 “If a man entrusts to his neighbor [4] money or articles [3] for safekeeping, [2] from the house of the man; [1] he must pay back double. [1] |

10 “If a man entrusts to his neighbor [4] a donkey or an ox or a sheep [3] or any animal [2] to care for; [1] or it is injured or it is taken away [2] with no one seeing, [1] |

11 an oath before the LORD, [3] it must be [3] between the two of them, [2] his hand [2] on the property of his neighbor; [1] and he shall not make restitution. [1] |

13 If it is torn in pieces, [2] let him bring it as evidence; [1] he shall not pay for. [1] ¶ |

14 “And if a man borrows anything [3] from his neighbor, [2] and it is injured or it dies; [1] he must make full restitution. [1] |

15 If its owner was with it, [2] he shall not make restitution; [1] it is covered [2] by its rental fee. [1] § |

16 “And if a man seduces [3] a virgin [3] who is not engaged, [2] and he lies with her; [1] he shall pay a dowry for her to be his [2] as a wife. [1] |

19 “Anyone who lies with an animal, [2] he must surely be put to death. [1] § |

19 זֹבֵ֥חַ לָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha יׇֽחֳרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 “Anyone who sacrifices to the gods, [2] he shall be dedicated to destruction; [1] him alone. [1] |

20 וְגֵ֥ר לֹא־תוֹנֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha וְלֹ֣א תִלְחָצֶ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
21 “And a sojourner you must not exploit [2] and you must not oppress him; [1] in the land of Egypt. [1] |

22 “Any widow or orphan [2] you must not mistreat. [1] |

22 אִם־עַנֵּ֥ה תְעַנֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֹת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef צַעֲקָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 If in any way you mistreat [2] him; [1] to me, [2] his cry, [1] |

24 and my anger will burn, [2] and I will kill you [2] with the sword; [1] widows, [2] orphans. [1] ¶ |

26 If you ever take as a pledge, [2] the cloak of your neighbor; [1] you shall return it to him, [1] |
