1 וַיֹּ֧סֶף אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
וַיִּקַּ֥ח אִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וּשְׁמָ֥הּ קְטוּרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 And Abraham again, [3]
he took a wife, [2]
and her name was Keturah. [1]
2 וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
אֶת־זִמְרָן֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־יׇקְשָׁ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־מְדָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־מִדְיָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־יִשְׁבָּ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־שֽׁוּחַ׃ [1] Silluq

וְאֶת־דְּדָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וּבְנֵ֣י דְדָ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
הָי֛וּ [3] Tevir

וּלְאֻמִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

Sheba [2]

and the sons of Dedan, [2]

Asshurim and Letushim, [2]

עֵיפָ֤ה וָעֵ֙פֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
וַחֲנֹ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲבִידָ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶלְדָּעָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כׇּל־אֵ֖לֶּה [2] Tip'cha
בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

אֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha

2 3 5 And Abraham gave [3]
all that he had, [2]
to Isaac, [1]
6 וְלִבְנֵ֤י הַפִּֽילַגְשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
נָתַ֥ן אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מַתָּנֹ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֞ם [4] Gershayim
מֵעַ֨ל יִצְחָ֤ק בְּנוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּעוֹדֶ֣נּוּ חַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
קֵ֖דְמָה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ קֶֽדֶם׃ [1] Silluq

וְחָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

of the years of Abraham’s life [2]
which he lived: [1]
 
one hundred years [3]
and seventy years [2]
and five years. [1]
8 וַיִּגְוַ֨ע וַיָּ֧מׇת אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
בְּשֵׂיבָ֥ה טוֹבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
זָקֵ֣ן וְשָׂבֵ֑עַ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּאָ֖סֶף [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־עַמָּֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 8 And Abraham gave up his spirit and he died [3]
at a good old age, [2]
old and satisfied; [1]
 
and he was gathered [2]
to his people. [1]
9 וַיִּקְבְּר֨וּ אֹת֜וֹ [4] Geresh
יִצְחָ֤ק וְיִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ [3] Pashta
בָּנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
אֶל־מְעָרַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
הַמַּכְפֵּלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
אֶל־שְׂדֵ֞ה [4] Gershayim
עֶפְרֹ֤ן בֶּן־צֹ֙חַר֙ [3 3] Pashta

עַל־פְּנֵ֥י כׇל־אֶחָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha

בְּקַחְתּ֣וֹ אֶת־רִבְקָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
בַּת־בְּתוּאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
הָֽאֲרַמִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
מִפַּדַּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
אֲרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֲח֛וֹת [3] Tevir
לָבָ֥ן הָאֲרַמִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
ל֥וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq

when he took Rebekah [3]
the daughter of Bethuel [3]
the Syrian [2]

Aram; [1]

21 וַיֶּעְתַּ֨ר יִצְחָ֤ק לַֽיהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
לְנֹ֣כַח אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י עֲקָרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הִ֑וא [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּעָ֤תֶר לוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַתַּ֖הַר [2] Tip'cha
רִבְקָ֥ה אִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

for his wife, [2]
 
because barren [2]
was she; [1]
 
and he was entreated by him, [3]
the LORD, [2]
 
and she conceived, [2]
Rebekah his wife. [1]
22 וַיִּתְרֹֽצְצ֤וּ הַבָּנִים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּקִרְבָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אִם־כֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef
לָ֥מָּה זֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אָנֹ֑כִי [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
לִדְרֹ֥שׁ אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

within her, [2]
 
and she said, “If it is like this, [2]
why is this happening [2]
to me?” [1]
 
And she went [2]
to inquire of the LORD. [1]
23 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh

שְׁנֵ֤י *גיים **גוֹיִם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּבִטְנֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וּשְׁנֵ֣י לְאֻמִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
מִמֵּעַ֖יִךְ [2] Tip'cha
יִפָּרֵ֑דוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וּלְאֹם֙ [3] Pashta
מִלְאֹ֣ם יֶֽאֱמָ֔ץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְרַ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
יַעֲבֹ֥ד צָעִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq

to her, [3]
 
“Two nations [3]
are in your womb, [2]
 
and two peoples [2]
from within you [2]
will be separated; [1]
 
and one people [3]
will be stronger than the other people, [2]
 
and the elder [2]
will serve the younger.” [1]
24 וַיִּמְלְא֥וּ יָמֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
לָלֶ֑דֶת [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֥ה תוֹמִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּבִטְנָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 24 And when her days were completed [2]
to give birth; [1]
 
behold, there were twins [2]
in her womb. [1]
25 וַיֵּצֵ֤א הָרִאשׁוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
אַדְמוֹנִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כֻּלּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
כְּאַדֶּ֣רֶת שֵׂעָ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּקְרְא֥וּ שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עֵשָֽׂו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 25 And the first came out [3]
red [2]
 
all over [2]
like a hairy garment; [1]
 
and they called his name [2]
Esau. [1]
26 וְאַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֞ן [4] Gershayim
יָצָ֣א אָחִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
וְיָד֤וֹ אֹחֶ֙זֶת֙ [3 3] Pashta
בַּעֲקֵ֣ב עֵשָׂ֔ו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
וְיִצְחָ֛ק [3] Tevir
בֶּן־שִׁשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּלֶ֥דֶת אֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

his brother came out, [3]
 
and his hand was holding [3 3]
onto the heel of Esau, [2]
 
and they called his name [2]
Jacob; [1]
 
and Isaac [3]
was a son of sixty years [2]

הַנְּעָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְהִ֣י עֵשָׂ֗ו [3] Revi'i
אִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
יֹדֵ֥עַ צַ֖יִד [2] Tip'cha
אִ֣ישׁ שָׂדֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְיַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta
אִ֣ישׁ תָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
יֹשֵׁ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
אֹהָלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

the boys, [2]
 
and Esau was [3]
a man [3]
who knew hunting, [2]
a man of the field; [1]
 
and Jacob [3]
was a quiet man, [2]
 
living [2]
in tents. [1]
28 וַיֶּאֱהַ֥ב יִצְחָ֛ק [3] Tevir
אֶת־עֵשָׂ֖ו [2] Tip'cha
כִּי־צַ֣יִד בְּפִ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְרִבְקָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֹהֶ֥בֶת אֶֽת־יַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 28 Now Isaac loved [3]
Esau, [2]
because he ate his wild game; [1]
 
and Rebekah [2]
loved Jacob. [1]
29 וַיָּ֥זֶד יַעֲקֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
נָזִ֑יד [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּבֹ֥א עֵשָׂ֛ו [3] Tevir
מִן־הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְה֥וּא עָיֵֽף׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 29 Now Jacob had cooked [2]
boiled stew; [1]
 
and Esau came in [3]
from the field, [2]
and he was famished. [1]
30 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר עֵשָׂ֜ו [4] Geresh
אֶֽל־יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i
 
הַלְעִיטֵ֤נִי נָא֙ [3] Pashta
מִן־הָאָדֹ֤ם הָאָדֹם֙ [3] Pashta
הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י עָיֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
אָנֹ֑כִי [1] Etnachta
 
עַל־כֵּ֥ן קָרָֽא־שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֱדֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq

to Jacob, [3]
 
“Please let me eat [3]
some of the red stew [3]
this, [2]
 
for famished [2]
am I.” [1]
 
Because of this his name was called [2]
Edom. [1]
31 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
מִכְרָ֥ה כַיּ֛וֹם [3] Tevir
אֶת־בְּכֹרָֽתְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

Jacob; [1]
 
“First sell [3]
your birthright [2]
to me.” [1]
32 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר עֵשָׂ֔ו [2] Zaqef
 
הִנֵּ֛ה [3] Tevir
אָנֹכִ֥י הוֹלֵ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
לָמ֑וּת [1] Etnachta
 
וְלָמָּה־זֶּ֥ה לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בְּכֹרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 32 And Esau said, [2]
 
“Behold [3]
I am about [2]
to die. [1]
 
What good to me [2]
is a birthright?” [1]
33 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i
הִשָּׁ֤בְעָה לִּי֙ [3] Pashta
כַּיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּשָּׁבַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּמְכֹּ֥ר אֶת־בְּכֹרָת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 33 And Jacob said, [3]
“Swear to me [3]
first.” [2]
 
And he swore [2]
to him; [1]
 
and he sold his birthright [2]
to Jacob. [1]
34 וְיַעֲקֹ֞ב [4] Gershayim
נָתַ֣ן לְעֵשָׂ֗ו [3] Revi'i
 
לֶ֚חֶם [3] Yetiv
וּנְזִ֣יד עֲדָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּ [2] Zaqef
וַיָּ֖קׇם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֵּלַ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֥בֶז עֵשָׂ֖ו [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and lentil stew, [2]
 
and he ate and he drank, [2]
and he rose up [2]

so Esau despised [2]
