1 וַיַּ֣רְא יַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י יֶשׁ־שֶׁ֖בֶר [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta
לְבָנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
לָ֖מָּה [2] Tip'cha
תִּתְרָאֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 1 Now Jacob saw [2]
that there was grain [2]
in Egypt; [1]
 
and Jacob said [3]
to his sons, [2]
 
“Why [2]
are you looking at one another?” [1]
2 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
הִנֵּ֣ה שָׁמַ֔עְתִּי [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י יֶשׁ־שֶׁ֖בֶר [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
רְדוּ־שָׁ֙מָּה֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְשִׁבְרוּ־לָ֣נוּ מִשָּׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְנִחְיֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א נָמֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq

“Behold I have heard [2]
that there is grain [2]
in Egypt. [1]
 
Go down there [3 3]
and buy grain for us from there, [2]
 
so that we may live [2]
and not die.” [1]
3 וַיֵּרְד֥וּ אֲחֵֽי־יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
עֲשָׂרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
לִשְׁבֹּ֥ר בָּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 And they went down, the brothers of Joseph [2]
ten; [1]
 
to buy grain [2]
from Egypt. [1]
4 וְאֶת־בִּנְיָמִין֙ [3] Pashta
אֲחִ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
לֹא־שָׁלַ֥ח יַעֲקֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אֶחָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י אָמַ֔ר [2] Zaqef
פֶּן־יִקְרָאֶ֖נּוּ [2] Tip'cha
אָסֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq

the brother of Joseph, [2]
 
Jacob didn’t send [2]
with his brothers; [1]
 
for he said, [2]
“Lest it should happen to him [2]
harm.” [1]
5 וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
לִשְׁבֹּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּת֣וֹךְ הַבָּאִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־הָיָ֥ה הָרָעָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ [1] Silluq

the sons of Israel [2]
 
to buy grain [2]
among those who were coming; [1]
 
for the famine was [2]
in the land of Canaan. [1]
6 וְיוֹסֵ֗ף [3] Revi'i
ה֚וּא [3] Yetiv
הַשַּׁלִּ֣יט עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
ה֥וּא הַמַּשְׁבִּ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
לְכׇל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֲחֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־ל֥וֹ אַפַּ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
אָֽרְצָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 6 And Joseph, [3]
he [3]
was the ruler over the land. [2]
 
It was he who sold grain [2]
to all the people of the land; [1]
 
and they came, [3 3]
the brothers of Joseph, [2]
 
and they bowed down to him face [2]
to the ground. [1]
7 וַיַּ֥רְא יוֹסֵ֛ף [3] Tevir
אֶת־אֶחָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
וַיַּכִּרֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּתְנַכֵּ֨ר אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם [4] Geresh
וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר אִתָּ֣ם קָשׁ֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
 
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
מֵאַ֣יִן בָּאתֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ [2] Zaqef
מֵאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנַ֖עַן [2] Tip'cha
לִשְׁבׇּר־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq

his brothers, [2]
and he recognized them; [1]
 
but he acted as a stranger to them [4]
and he spoke harshly with them, [3]
 
and he said to them, [3]
“From where have you come?” [2]
 
And they said, [2]
“From the land of Canaan [2]
to buy food.” [1]
8 וַיַּכֵּ֥ר יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אֶחָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְהֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א הִכִּרֻֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 8 And Joseph recognized [2]
his brothers; [1]
 
but they, [2]
they didn’t recognize him. [1]
9 וַיִּזְכֹּ֣ר יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֚ת [3] Yetiv
הַחֲלֹמ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָלַ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לָהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
מְרַגְּלִ֣ים אַתֶּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
לִרְא֛וֹת [3] Tevir
אֶת־עֶרְוַ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
בָּאתֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

the [3]
dreams [2]
 
which he had dreamed [2]
about them; [1]
 
and he said to them, [3]
“You are spies! [2]
 
To see [3]
the nakedness of the land, [2]
you have come.” [1]
10 וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א אֲדֹנִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַעֲבָדֶ֥יךָ בָּ֖אוּ [2] Tip'cha
לִשְׁבׇּר־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 10 And they said to him, [2]
“No, my lord; [1]
 
but your servants, they have come [2]
to buy food. [1]
11 כֻּלָּ֕נוּ [2] ZaqefG
בְּנֵ֥י אִישׁ־אֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
נָ֑חְנוּ [1] Etnachta
 
כֵּנִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ [2] Zaqef
לֹא־הָי֥וּ עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מְרַגְּלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 11 All of us, [2]
sons of one man [2]
are we; [1]
 
honest are we, [2]
your servants are not [2]
spies.” [1]
12 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
אֲלֵהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
לֹ֕א [2] ZaqefG
כִּֽי־עֶרְוַ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
בָּאתֶ֥ם לִרְאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

to them; [1]
 
“No, [2]
but the nakedness of the land [2]
you have come to see!” [1]
13 וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ [3] Revi'i
שְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂר֩ עֲבָדֶ֨יךָ אַחִ֧ים ׀ אֲנַ֛חְנוּ [3] Tevir
בְּנֵ֥י אִישׁ־אֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֨ה הַקָּטֹ֤ן אֶת־אָבִ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef
 
וְהָאֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 13 And they said, [3]
“Two and ten are your servants, brothers are we, [3]
the sons of one man, [2]
in the land of Canaan; [1]
 
and behold the youngest is with our father [3 3]
today, [2]
 
and one, [2]
he is no more.” [1]
14 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta
 
ה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֧רְתִּי אֲלֵכֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
לֵאמֹ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
מְרַגְּלִ֥ים אַתֶּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 14 And he said to them, [2]
Joseph; [1]
 
“It [3]
is that which I told you [3]
saying, [2]
‘You are spies!’ [1]
15 בְּזֹ֖את [2] Tip'cha
תִּבָּחֵ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta
 
חֵ֤י פַרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta
אִם־תֵּצְא֣וּ מִזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֧י אִם־בְּב֛וֹא [3] Tevir
אֲחִיכֶ֥ם הַקָּטֹ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
הֵֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq

you shall be tested. [1]
 
By the life of Pharaoh [3]
you shall not go out from here, [2]
 
unless comes [3]
your youngest brother [2]
here. [1]
16 שִׁלְח֨וּ מִכֶּ֣ם אֶחָד֮ [3] Zarqa
וְיִקַּ֣ח אֶת־אֲחִיכֶם֒ [2] Segol
 
וְאַתֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
הֵאָ֣סְר֔וּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְיִבָּֽחֲנוּ֙ [3] Pashta
דִּבְרֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
הַֽאֱמֶ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
אִתְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־לֹ֕א [2] ZaqefG
חֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י מְרַגְּלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אַתֶּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

and let him get your brother, [2]
 
and you [3]
shall be imprisoned, [2]
 
that they may be tested, [3]
your words, [2]
 
whether there is truth [2]
in you; [1]
 
and if not, [2]
by the life of Pharaoh, [2]
surely spies [2]
are you.” [1]
17 וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף אֹתָ֛ם [3] Tevir
אֶל־מִשְׁמָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 17 And he put them [3]
in custody [2]
three days. [1]
18 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֤ם יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
זֹ֥את עֲשׂ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וִֽחְי֑וּ [1] Etnachta
 
אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֲנִ֥י יָרֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 18 And Joseph said to them [3]
on the third day, [2]
 
“Do this [2]
and live; [1]
 
for God [2]
I fear. [1]
19 אִם־כֵּנִ֣ים אַתֶּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אֲחִיכֶ֣ם אֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef
יֵאָסֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּבֵ֣ית מִשְׁמַרְכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַתֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
לְכ֣וּ הָבִ֔יאוּ [2] Zaqef
 
שֶׁ֖בֶר [2] Tip'cha
רַעֲב֥וֹן בָּתֵּיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 3 2 19 If you are honest men, [2]
then one of your brothers, [2]
let him be imprisoned [2]
in the house of your custody; [1]
 
and you, [3]
go take [2]
 
the grain [2]
for the hunger of your households. [1]
20 וְאֶת־אֲחִיכֶ֤ם הַקָּטֹן֙ [3] Pashta
תָּבִ֣יאוּ אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְיֵאָמְנ֥וּ דִבְרֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א תָמ֑וּתוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 20 And your youngest brother [3]
you will bring to me, [2]
 
so your words may be verified [2]
and you will not die.” [1]
 
And they did so. [1]
21 וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־אָחִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
אֲבָל֮ [3] Zarqa
 
אֲשֵׁמִ֣ים ׀ [4] Legarmeh
אֲנַ֘חְנוּ֮ [3 3] Zarqa
עַל־אָחִ֒ינוּ֒ [2 2] Segol
 
אֲשֶׁ֨ר רָאִ֜ינוּ [4] Geresh
צָרַ֥ת נַפְשׁ֛וֹ [3] Tevir
בְּהִתְחַֽנְנ֥וֹ אֵלֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א שָׁמָ֑עְנוּ [1] Etnachta
 
עַל־כֵּן֙ [3] Pashta
בָּ֣אָה אֵלֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
הַצָּרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הַזֹּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq

“Indeed, [3]
 
guilty [4]
are we [3 3]
concerning our brother, [2 2]
 
that we saw [4]
the distress of his soul [3]
when he begged us, [2]
and we wouldn’t listen; [1]
 
therefore [3]
it has come upon us, [2]
 
the distress [2]
this.” [1]
22 וַיַּ֩עַן֩ רְאוּבֵ֨ן אֹתָ֜ם [4] Geresh
לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
הֲלוֹא֩ אָמַ֨רְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶ֧ם ׀ לֵאמֹ֛ר [3] Tevir
אַל־תֶּחֶטְא֥וּ בַיֶּ֖לֶד [2] Tip'cha
 
וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְגַם־דָּמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
הִנֵּ֥ה נִדְרָֽשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 22 And Reuben answered them [4]
saying, [3]
 
“Didn’t I tell you, saying, [3]
‘Don’t sin against the boy,’ [2]
 
and you wouldn’t listen? [1]
 
Therefore his blood [2]
behold, is being required.” [1]

כִּ֥י שֹׁמֵ֖עַ [2] Tip'cha

כִּ֥י הַמֵּלִ֖יץ [2] Tip'cha
בֵּינֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

didn’t know [2]
 
that (he) understood, [2]
Joseph; [1]
 
for the interpreter [2]
was between them. [1]
24 וַיִּסֹּ֥ב מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֵּ֑בְךְּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֤שׇׁב אֲלֵהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֵֽאִתָּם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־שִׁמְע֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ר אֹת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 3 2 24 And he turned away from them [2]
and he wept; [1]
 
then he returned to them [3]
and he spoke to them, [2]
 
and he took from among them [3]
Simeon, [2]
 
and he bound him [2]
before their eyes. [1]
25 וַיְצַ֣ו יוֹסֵ֗ף [3] Revi'i
וַיְמַלְא֣וּ אֶת־כְּלֵיהֶם֮ [3] Zarqa
בָּר֒ [2] Segol
 
וּלְהָשִׁ֤יב כַּסְפֵּיהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־שַׂקּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלָתֵ֥ת לָהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
צֵדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לַדָּ֑רֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כֵּֽן׃ [1] Silluq

to fill their bags with [3]
grain, [2]
 
and to return their silver [3]
each to his sack, [2]
 
and to give them [3]
provisions [2]
for the journey; [1]
 
and it was done for them [2]
thus. [1]
26 וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ אֶת־שִׁבְרָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַל־חֲמֹרֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
מִשָּֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 26 And they loaded their grain [2]
onto their donkeys; [1]
 
and they departed [2]
from there. [1]
27 וַיִּפְתַּ֨ח הָאֶחָ֜ד [4] Geresh
אֶת־שַׂקּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
לָתֵ֥ת מִסְפּ֛וֹא [3] Tevir
לַחֲמֹר֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
 
בַּמָּל֑וֹן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּרְא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־כַּסְפּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִנֵּה־ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
בְּפִ֥י אַמְתַּחְתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

his sack [3]
 
to give food [3]
to his donkey [2]
 
at the lodging place; [1]
 
he saw [3]
his silver, [2]
 
and behold, it was [2]
in the mouth of his sack. [1]
28 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־אֶחָיו֙ [3] Pashta
הוּשַׁ֣ב כַּסְפִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְגַ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הִנֵּ֣ה בְאַמְתַּחְתִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּצֵ֣א לִבָּ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
וַיֶּֽחֶרְד֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אִ֤ישׁ אֶל־אָחִיו֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
מַה־זֹּ֛את [3] Tevir
עָשָׂ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

“My silver has been returned! [2]
 
And [2]
behold, in my sack!” [1]
 
And their hearts failed them, [3]
 
and they turned trembling [4]
to one another, [3]
saying, [2]
 
“What is this [3]
that God has done [2]
to us?” [1]
29 וַיָּבֹ֛אוּ [3] Tevir
אֶל־יַעֲקֹ֥ב אֲבִיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אַ֣רְצָה כְּנָ֑עַן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּגִּ֣ידוּ ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֛ת [3] Tevir
כׇּל־הַקֹּרֹ֥ת אֹתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq

to Jacob their father, [2]
to the land of Canaan; [1]
 
and they told him [2]

all that had happened to them, [2]
saying, [1]

הָאִ֨ישׁ אֲדֹנֵ֥י הָאָ֛רֶץ [3] Tevir

כִּֽמְרַגְּלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

harshly; [1]
 
and he took us [2]
to be spying out [2]
the land. [1]
31 וַנֹּ֥אמֶר אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
כֵּנִ֣ים אֲנָ֑חְנוּ [1] Etnachta
 
לֹ֥א הָיִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
מְרַגְּלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 31 And we said to him, [2]
‘Honest are we. [1]
 
We are not [2]
spies. [1]
32 שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֥ר אֲנַ֛חְנוּ [3] Tevir
אַחִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בְּנֵ֣י אָבִ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
הָאֶחָ֣ד אֵינֶ֔נּוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַקָּטֹ֥ן הַיּ֛וֹם [3] Tevir
אֶת־אָבִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ [1] Silluq

brothers, [2]
sons of our father; [1]
 
one is no more, [2]
 
and the youngest is today [3]
with our father [2]
in the land of Canaan.’ [1]
33 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i
הָאִישׁ֙ [3] Pashta
אֲדֹנֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּזֹ֣את אֵדַ֔ע [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י כֵנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אַתֶּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֲחִיכֶ֤ם הָֽאֶחָד֙ [3] Pashta
הַנִּ֣יחוּ אִתִּ֔י [2] Zaqef

קְח֥וּ וָלֵֽכוּ׃ [1] Silluq

וְהִנֵּה־אִ֥ישׁ צְרוֹר־כַּסְפּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בְּשַׂקּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּרְא֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אֶת־צְרֹר֧וֹת כַּסְפֵּיהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
הֵ֥מָּה וַאֲבִיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּירָֽאוּ׃ [1] Silluq

were emptying their sacks, [2]
 
behold, each man’s bag of silver [2]
was in his sack; [1]
 
and when they saw [4]
their bags of silver, [3]
they and their father, [2]
they were afraid. [1]
36 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
יַעֲקֹ֣ב אֲבִיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אֹתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שִׁכַּלְתֶּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
יוֹסֵ֤ף אֵינֶ֙נּוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְשִׁמְע֣וֹן אֵינֶ֔נּוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־בִּנְיָמִ֣ן תִּקָּ֔חוּ [2] Zaqef
עָלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הָי֥וּ כֻלָּֽנָה׃ [1] Silluq

אִם־לֹ֥א אֲבִיאֶ֖נּוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֵלֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
תְּנָ֤ה אֹתוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־יָדִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֲשִׁיבֶ֥נּוּ אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

וְה֧וּא לְבַדּ֣וֹ נִשְׁאָ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
וּקְרָאָ֤הוּ אָסוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
בַּדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֵּֽלְכוּ־בָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהוֹרַדְתֶּ֧ם אֶת־שֵׂיבָתִ֛י [3] Tevir
בְּיָג֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
שְׁאֽוֹלָה׃ [1] Silluq

“My son shall not go down [2]
with you; [1]
 
for his brother has died, [4]
and he, he alone is left, [3]
 
and if harm happens to him [3]
on the journey [3 3]
on which you go, [2]
 
then you will bring down my gray hair [3]
in grief [2]
to Sheol.” [1]
