1 וַיִּפֹּ֥ל יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha עַל־פְּנֵ֣י אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta וַיִּשַּׁק־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And Joseph fell [2] on the face of his father; [1] and he kissed him. [1] |

2 וַיְצַ֨ו יוֹסֵ֤ף אֶת־עֲבָדָיו֙ [3] Pashta אֶת־הָרֹ֣פְאִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And Joseph commanded his servants [3] the physicians [2] his father; [1] Israel. [1] |

3 וַיִּמְלְאוּ־לוֹ֙ [3] Pashta אַרְבָּעִ֣ים י֔וֹם [2] Zaqef כֵּ֥ן יִמְלְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha יְמֵ֣י הַחֲנֻטִ֑ים [1] Etnachta מִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha שִׁבְעִ֥ים יֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq |
3 And they were completed for him [3] forty days, [2] thus they were completed [2] the days of the embalming; [1] the Egyptians, [2] for seventy days. [1] |

4 וַיַּֽעַבְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta יְמֵ֣י בְכִית֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֶל־בֵּ֥ית פַּרְעֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta בְּעֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef בְּאׇזְנֵ֥י פַרְעֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And when they were past, [3] the days of his weeping, [2] to the household of Pharaoh [2] saying; [1] in your eyes, [2] in the ears of Pharaoh [2] saying, [1] |

5 אָבִ֞י [4] Gershayim הִשְׁבִּיעַ֣נִי לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i מֵת֒ [2] Segol אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרִ֤יתִי לִי֙ [3] Pashta בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef תִּקְבְּרֵ֑נִי [1] Etnachta אֶֽעֱלֶה־נָּ֛א [3] Tevir וְאֶקְבְּרָ֥ה אֶת־אָבִ֖י [2] Tip'cha וְאָשֽׁוּבָה׃ [1] Silluq |
5 ‘My father, [4] he made me swear saying, [3] am about to die. [2] which I dug for myself [3] in the land of Canaan, [2] you bury me.” [1] please let me go up [3] and bury my father, [2] and I will return.’ ” [1] |

6 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha פַּרְעֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta וּקְבֹ֥ר אֶת־אָבִ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁבִּיעֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And he said, [2] Pharaoh; [1] and bury your father, [2] just as he made you swear.” [1] |

7 וַיַּ֥עַל יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha לִקְבֹּ֣ר אֶת־אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta כׇּל־עַבְדֵ֤י פַרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta זִקְנֵ֣י בֵית֔וֹ [2] Zaqef זִקְנֵ֥י אֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
7 And Joseph went up [2] to bury his father; [1] all the servants of Pharaoh, [3] the elders of his household, [2] the elders of the land of Egypt, [1] |

8 וְכֹל֙ [3] Pashta בֵּ֣ית יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef וּבֵ֣ית אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta טַפָּם֙ [3] Pashta וְצֹאנָ֣ם וּבְקָרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef בְּאֶ֥רֶץ גֹּֽשֶׁן׃ [1] Silluq |
8 and all [3] the household of Joseph, [2] and the household of his father. [1] their little ones [3] and their sheep and their cattle, [2] in the land of Goshen. [1] |

9 וַיַּ֣עַל עִמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef גַּם־רֶ֖כֶב [2] Tip'cha גַּם־פָּרָשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta כָּבֵ֥ד מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
9 And there went up with him, [2] both chariots [2] and horsemen; [1] very numerous. [1] |

10 וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ [4] Geresh עַד־גֹּ֣רֶן הָאָטָ֗ד [3] Revi'i בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef גָּד֥וֹל וְכָבֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha מְאֹ֑ד [1] Etnachta אֵ֖בֶל [2] Tip'cha שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And they came [4] to the threshing floor of Atad [3] is on the other side of the Jordan, [2] great and heavy, [2] very; [1] mourning, [2] of seven days. [1] |

11 וַיַּ֡רְא [4] Pazer יוֹשֵׁב֩ הָאָ֨רֶץ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֜י [4] Geresh אֶת־הָאֵ֗בֶל [3] Revi'i הָֽאָטָ֔ד [2] Zaqef אֵֽבֶל־כָּבֵ֥ד זֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְמִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta קָרָ֤א שְׁמָהּ֙ [3] Pashta אָבֵ֣ל מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef בְּעֵ֥בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And when they saw, [4] the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, [4] the mourning [3] of Atad, [2] “This is heavy mourning [2] by the Egyptians.” [1] its name was called [3] Abel Mizraim, [2] is on the other side of the Jordan. [1] |

12 וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ בָנָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And his sons did [2] for him; [1] just as he had commanded them, [1] |

13 וַיִּשְׂא֨וּ אֹת֤וֹ בָנָיו֙ [3] Pashta אַ֣רְצָה כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef בִּמְעָרַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha שְׂדֵ֣ה הַמַּכְפֵּלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta לַאֲחֻזַּת־קֶ֗בֶר [3] Revi'i עֶפְרֹ֥ן הַחִתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha |
13 for his sons carried him [3] to the land of Canaan, [2] in the cave [2] of the field of Machpelah; [1] as a possession for a burial site, [3] Ephron the Hittite, [2] |

14 וַיָּ֨שׇׁב יוֹסֵ֤ף מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙ [3 3] Pashta ה֣וּא וְאֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef לִקְבֹּ֣ר אֶת־אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta קׇבְר֥וֹ אֶת־אָבִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And Joseph returned to Egypt, [3 3] he and his brothers, [2] to bury his father; [1] he had buried his father. [1] |

15 וַיִּרְא֤וּ אֲחֵֽי־יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta כִּי־מֵ֣ת אֲבִיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef ל֥וּ יִשְׂטְמֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta לָ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef כׇּל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 And when the brothers of Joseph saw [3] that their father had died, [2] “It may be that he will bear a grudge against us, [2] Joseph; [1] to us [2] all the harm [2] him.” [1] |

16 וַיְצַוּ֕וּ [2] ZaqefG אֶל־יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta לִפְנֵ֥י מוֹת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And they commanded [2] to Joseph [2] saying; [1] before he died [2] saying, [1] |

17 כֹּֽה־תֹאמְר֣וּ לְיוֹסֵ֗ף [3] Revi'i שָׂ֣א נָ֠א [4] TelishaG פֶּ֣שַׁע אַחֶ֤יךָ וְחַטָּאתָם֙ [3] Pashta כִּי־רָעָ֣ה גְמָל֔וּךָ [2] Zaqef שָׂ֣א נָ֔א [2] Zaqef אֱלֹהֵ֣י אָבִ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta בְּדַבְּרָ֥ם אֵלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph, [3] please forgive [4] the transgression of your brothers and their sin, [3] because they dealt out to you evil.” ’ [2] please forgive [2] of the God of your father.” [1] when they spoke to him. [1] |

18 וַיֵּלְכוּ֙ [3] Pashta גַּם־אֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef לְפָנָ֑יו [1] Etnachta הִנֶּ֥נּֽוּ לְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha לַעֲבָדִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And they went [3] also, his brothers, [2] before him; [1] “Behold, we belong to you [2] as slaves.” [1] |

19 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha אַל־תִּירָ֑אוּ [1] Etnachta הֲתַ֥חַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And he said to them, [3] Joseph, [2] “Don’t be afraid; [1] in the place of God [2] am I? [1] |

20 וְאַתֶּ֕ם [2] ZaqefG חֲשַׁבְתֶּ֥ם עָלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha רָעָ֑ה [1] Etnachta חֲשָׁבָ֣הּ לְטֹבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef עֲשֹׂ֛ה [3] Tevir כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְהַחֲיֹ֥ת עַם־רָֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And as for you, [2] you planned against me [2] evil; [1] he planned it for good, [2] bring about [3] what it is this day, [2] to preserve alive many people. [1] |

21 וְעַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta אַל־תִּירָ֔אוּ [2] Zaqef אֲכַלְכֵּ֥ל אֶתְכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וְאֶֽת־טַפְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha עַל־לִבָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
21 Now therefore [3] don’t be afraid. [2] I will provide for you [2] and your little ones.” [1] and he spoke [2] kindly to them. [1] |

22 וַיֵּ֤שֶׁב יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef וּבֵ֣ית אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר [2] Tip'cha שָׁנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And Joseph remained [3] in Egypt, [2] and the household of his father; [1] one hundred and ten [2] years. [1] |

23 וַיַּ֤רְא יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef שִׁלֵּשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta בְּנֵ֤י מָכִיר֙ [3] Pashta בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef עַל־בִּרְכֵּ֥י יוֹסֵֽף׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And Joseph saw [3] to Ephraim [2] to the third generation; [1] the sons of Machir [3] the son of Manasseh, [2] on the knees of Joseph. [1] |

24 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־אֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef מֵ֑ת [1] Etnachta פָּקֹ֧ד יִפְקֹ֣ד אֶתְכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i מִן־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את [2] Zaqef לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם לְיִצְחָ֖ק [2] Tip'cha וּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
24 And Joseph said [3] to his brothers, [2] about to die; [1] he will surely visit you, [3] from this land, [2] to Abraham, to Isaac, [2] and to Jacob.” [1] |

25 וַיַּשְׁבַּ֣ע יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta אֶתְכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef מִזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
25 And Joseph took an oath of [2] the sons of Israel [2] saying; [1] you, [2] from here.” [1] |

26 וַיָּ֣מׇת יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef בֶּן־מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר [2] Tip'cha שָׁנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וַיִּ֥ישֶׂם בָּאָר֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And Joseph died, [2] a son of one hundred and ten [2] years; [1] and he was put in a coffin [2] in Egypt. [1] |
