[1] Silluq |
1 When Ephraim spoke, [3 3] (there was) trembling. [2] in Israel; [1] and he died. [1] |
2 And now [4] they sin more and more, [3] idols, [2] all of it. [1] they say, [2] the calves [2] let them kiss.’ [1] |
3 Therefore [3] they will become [3] like the morning mist, [2] that passes away early; [1] that swirls from the threshing floor, [2] from a window. [1] |
4 “Yet I [3] have been the LORD your God [2] since the land of Egypt; [1] you must not know, [2] apart from me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 It was I who knew you [2] in the wilderness; [1] of drought. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 According to their pasture [3] so they were filled, [2] and their heart was exalted; [1] they forgot me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 So I became to them [2] like a lion; [1] on the path I will watch. [1] |
8 I will meet them [3] like a bear robbed of cubs, [2] the cavity of their heart; [1] like a lion, [2] it will tear them to pieces. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 You are destroyed O Israel, [2] because you are against me, against your helper. [1] |
10 Where is your king [3] now, [2] in all your cities? [1] of whom you said, [2] ‘Give me [2] a king and princes’? [1] |
11 I gave you a king [3 3] in my anger, [2] in my wrath. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
12 Stored up [3] is the guilt of Ephraim. [2] is his sin. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 The pains of one who gives birth, [2] they will come to him; [1] who is not wise, [2] at the breaking forth of children. [1] |
14 From the hand of Sheol [3] I will ransom them, [2] I will redeem them. [1] O death? [3] O Sheol? [2] it will be hidden from my eyes. [1] |
15 Though he [2] among his brothers [2] he is fruitful; [1] coming up from the wilderness, [3] and his fountain will be dried up. [2] the treasury [2] of every precious thing. [1] |
