הושע 13 Hosea 13
1 כְּדַבֵּ֤ר אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
רְתֵ֔ת [2] Zaqef

נָשָׂ֥א ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta

וַיֶּאְשַׁ֥ם בַּבַּ֖עַל [2] Tip'cha
וַיָּמֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 1 When Ephraim spoke, [3 3]
(there was) trembling. [2]

He, he exalted himself [2]
in Israel; [1]

but he became guilty by Baal, [2]
and he died. [1]
2 וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
יוֹסִ֣פוּ לַחֲטֹ֗א [3] Revi'i

וַיַּעֲשׂ֣וּ לָהֶם֩ מַסֵּכָ֨ה מִכַּסְפָּ֤ם כִּתְבוּנָם֙ [3] Pashta
עֲצַבִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef

מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חָרָשִׁ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
כֻּלֹּ֑ה [1] Etnachta

לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
הֵ֣ם אֹמְרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef

זֹבְחֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
עֲגָלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יִשָּׁקֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 2 2 2 And now [4]
they sin more and more, [3]

and they have made themselves molten images from their silver according to their skill, [3]
idols, [2]

the work of craftsmen [2]
all of it. [1]

To them [3]
they say, [2]

‘Those who offer human sacrifice, [2]
the calves [2]
let them kiss.’ [1]
3 לָכֵ֗ן [3] Revi'i
יִֽהְיוּ֙ [3] Pashta
כַּעֲנַן־בֹּ֔קֶר [2] Zaqef

וְכַטַּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מַשְׁכִּ֣ים הֹלֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta

כְּמֹץ֙ [3] Pashta
יְסֹעֵ֣ר מִגֹּ֔רֶן [2] Zaqef

וּכְעָשָׁ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֲרֻבָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 3 Therefore [3]
they will become [3]
like the morning mist, [2]

and like the dew [2]
that passes away early; [1]

like chaff [3]
that swirls from the threshing floor, [2]

and like smoke [2]
from a window. [1]
4 וְאָנֹכִ֛י [3] Tevir
יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta

וֵאלֹהִ֤ים זוּלָתִי֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א תֵדָ֔ע [2] Zaqef

וּמוֹשִׁ֥יעַ אַ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha
בִּלְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 4 “Yet I [3]
have been the LORD your God [2]
since the land of Egypt; [1]

and any god but me [3]
you must not know, [2]

and there is no savior [2]
apart from me. [1]
5 אֲנִ֥י יְדַעְתִּ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר [1] Etnachta

בְּאֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
תַּלְאֻבֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 5 It was I who knew you [2]
in the wilderness; [1]

in a land [2]
of drought. [1]
6 כְּמַרְעִיתָם֙ [3] Pashta
וַיִּשְׂבָּ֔עוּ [2] Zaqef

שָׂבְע֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וַיָּ֣רׇם לִבָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta

עַל־כֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 6 According to their pasture [3]
so they were filled, [2]

they were filled [2]
and their heart was exalted; [1]

therefore [2]
they forgot me. [1]
7 וָאֱהִ֥י לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כְּמוֹ־שָׁ֑חַל [1] Etnachta

כְּנָמֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עַל־דֶּ֥רֶךְ אָשֽׁוּר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 7 So I became to them [2]
like a lion; [1]

like a leopard, [2]
on the path I will watch. [1]
8 אֶפְגְּשֵׁם֙ [3] Pashta
כְּדֹ֣ב שַׁכּ֔וּל [2] Zaqef

וְאֶקְרַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
סְג֣וֹר לִבָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta

וְאֹכְלֵ֥ם שָׁם֙ [3] Pashta
כְּלָבִ֔יא [2] Zaqef

חַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
תְּבַקְּעֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 8 I will meet them [3]
like a bear robbed of cubs, [2]

and I will tear [2]
the cavity of their heart; [1]

and I will devour them there [3]
like a lion, [2]

the wild animal, [2]
it will tear them to pieces. [1]
9 שִׁחֶתְךָ֥ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
כִּי־בִ֥י בְעֶזְרֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 9 You are destroyed O Israel, [2]
because you are against me, against your helper. [1]
10 אֱהִ֤י מַלְכְּךָ֙ [3] Pashta
אֵפ֔וֹא [2] Zaqef

וְיוֹשִׁיעֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
בְּכׇל־עָרֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta

וְשֹׁ֣פְטֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתָּ [2] Zaqef
תְּנָה־לִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מֶ֥לֶךְ וְשָׂרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 2 10 Where is your king [3]
now, [2]

that he may save you [2]
in all your cities? [1]

And your rulers, [2]
of whom you said, [2]
‘Give me [2]
a king and princes’? [1]
11 אֶֽתֶּן־לְךָ֥ מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּאַפִּ֔י [2] Zaqef

וְאֶקַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֶבְרָתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
פ
2 3 2 11 I gave you a king [3 3]
in my anger, [2]

and I have taken him away [2]
in my wrath. [1]
12 צָרוּר֙ [3] Pashta

is the guilt of Ephraim. [2]

Stored up [2]
is his sin. [1]
13 חֶבְלֵ֥י יוֹלֵדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יָבֹ֣אוּ ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta

הוּא־בֵן֙ [3] Pashta

1 2 2 3 2 13 The pains of one who gives birth, [2]
they will come to him; [1]

He is a son [3]
who is not wise, [2]

for at that time he will not present himself, [2]
at the breaking forth of children. [1]
14 מִיַּ֤ד שְׁאוֹל֙ [3] Pashta

אֱהִ֤י קׇֽטׇבְךָ֙ [3] Pashta

נֹ֖חַם [2] Tip'cha
יִסָּתֵ֥ר מֵעֵינָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 14 From the hand of Sheol [3]
I will ransom them, [2]

from death [2]
I will redeem them. [1]

Where are your plagues [4]
O death? [3]

Where is your destruction [3]
O Sheol? [2]

Compassion, [2]
it will be hidden from my eyes. [1]
15 כִּ֣י ה֔וּא [2] Zaqef
בֵּ֥ין אַחִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יַפְרִ֑יא [1] Etnachta

יָב֣וֹא קָדִים֩ ר֨וּחַ יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh

וְיֵב֤וֹשׁ מְקוֹרוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
וְיֶחֱרַ֣ב מַעְיָנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef

ה֣וּא יִשְׁסֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef
אוֹצַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־כְּלִ֥י חֶמְדָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 4 3 2 2 15 Though he [2]
among his brothers [2]
he is fruitful; [1]

it will come, an east wind, the breath of the LORD [4]
coming up from the wilderness, [3]

and his spring will become dry, [3]
and his fountain will be dried up. [2]

It, it will plunder [2]
the treasury [2]
of every precious thing. [1]
