1 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
יוּשַׁ֥ר הַשִּׁיר־הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
עִ֣יר עׇז־לָ֔נוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
יְשׁוּעָ֥ה יָשִׁ֖ית [2] Merkha Tip'cha
חוֹמ֥וֹת וָחֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 1 In that day, [2]
this song will be sung [2]
in the land of Judah; [1]
 
“We have a strong city, [2]
salvation he appoints [2]
(as) walls and ramparts. [1]
2 פִּתְח֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
שְׁעָרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָבֹ֥א גוֹי־צַדִּ֖יק [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שֹׁמֵ֥ר אֱמֻנִֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

the gates; [1]
 
let the righteous nation enter, [2]
one which remains faithful. [1]
3 יֵ֣צֶר סָמ֔וּךְ [2] Munach Zaqef
תִּצֹּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
שָׁל֣וֹם ׀ שָׁל֑וֹם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י בְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בָּטֽוּחַ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 One with a steadfast mind, [2]
you keep [2]
(in) perfect peace; [1]
 
because in you [2]
he trusts. [1]
4 בִּטְח֥וּ בַֽיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עֲדֵי־עַ֑ד [1] Etnachta

בְּיָ֣הּ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef

is a rock [2]

קִרְיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
נִשְׂגָּבָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
יַשְׁפִּילֶ֤נָּה יַשְׁפִּילָהּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
עַד־אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
יַגִּיעֶ֖נָּה [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עָפָֽר׃ [1] Silluq

those dwelling on high, [2]
 
a city [2]
set on high; [1]
 
He levels it, He levels it [3]
to the ground, [2]
 
He brings it down [2]
to the dust. [1]
6 תִּרְמְסֶ֖נָּה [2] Tip'cha
רָ֑גֶל [1] Etnachta
 
רַגְלֵ֥י עָנִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
פַּעֲמֵ֥י דַלִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 6 They will trample it down, [2]
feet; [1]
 
feet of the afflicted, [2]
the footsteps of the poor.” [1]
7 אֹ֥רַח לַצַּדִּ֖יק [2] Merkha Tip'cha

יָשָׁ֕ר [2] ZaqefG

תְּפַלֵּֽס׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 7 The way of the righteous [2]
is straight; [1]
 
O Upright One, [2]
the path of the righteous [2]
you make smooth. [1]
8 אַ֣ף אֹ֧רַח מִשְׁפָּטֶ֛יךָ [3] Munach Darga Tevir
יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
קִוִּינ֑וּךָ [1] Etnachta
 
לְשִׁמְךָ֥ וּלְזִכְרְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תַּאֲוַת־נָֽפֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 8 And (in) the way of your judgments [3]
O LORD, [2]
we have waited for you; [1]
 
for your name and for your remembrance [2]
are the soul’s desire. [1]
9 נַפְשִׁ֤י אִוִּיתִ֙ךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בַּלַּ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef
 
אַף־רוּחִ֥י בְקִרְבִּ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֲשַׁחֲרֶ֑ךָּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֞י [4] Gershayim
כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר מִשְׁפָּטֶ֙יךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
צֶ֥דֶק לָמְד֖וּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יֹשְׁבֵ֥י תֵבֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

in the night, [2]
 
and my spirit within me, [2]
I seek you; [1]
 
for [4]
when your judgments [3]
are in the earth, [2]
 
they learn righteousness, [2]
the inhabitants of the world. [1]
10 יֻחַ֤ן רָשָׁע֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בַּל־לָמַ֣ד צֶ֔דֶק [2] Munach Zaqef
 
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ נְכֹח֖וֹת [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יְעַוֵּ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וּבַל־יִרְאֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
גֵּא֥וּת יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 10 (Though) grace is shown to the wicked, [3]
he does not learn righteousness, [2]
 
in a land of uprightness, [2]
he will (still) act wrongly; [1]
 
for he doesn't perceive [2]
the majesty of the LORD. [1]

רָ֥מָה יָדְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בַּל־יֶחֱזָי֑וּן [1] Etnachta
 
יֶחֱז֤וּ וְיֵבֹ֙שׁוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
קִנְאַת־עָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אַף־אֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
צָרֶ֥יךָ תֹאכְלֵֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

your hand is lifted up, [2]
(yet) they do not see it; [1]
 
(but) they will see and they will be put to shame [3]
(for) envy of the people, [2]
 
and fire, [2]
it will devour your enemies. [1]

you will establish peace [2]
for us; [1]
 
for [3]
also all our works [2]
you have done for us. [1]

13 יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
בְּעָל֥וּנוּ אֲדֹנִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
זוּלָתֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
לְבַד־בְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
נַזְכִּ֥יר שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

other lords have ruled over us [2]
besides you; [1]
 
(but) by you only [2]
do we keep your name in remembrance. [1]

בַּל־יִ֣חְי֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
רְפָאִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בַּל־יָקֻ֑מוּ [1] Etnachta
 
לָכֵ֤ן פָּקַ֙דְתָּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וַתַּשְׁמִידֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַתְּאַבֵּ֥ד כׇּל־זֵ֖כֶר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

they do not live, [2]
 
the departed spirits, [2]
they do not rise; [1]
 
thus you have punished [3]
and you have destroyed them, [2]
 
and you have wiped out all remembrance [2]

כׇּל־קַצְוֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

you have increased the nation, [2]
you have gained glory; [1]
 
you have expanded [2]
all the borders of the land. [1]

בַּצַּ֣ר פְּקָד֑וּךָ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
צָק֣וּן לַ֔חַשׁ [2] Munach Zaqef
מוּסָרְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

in distress they sought you; [1]
 
they poured out a whispered prayer [2]
when your discipline [2]
was upon them. [1]
17 כְּמ֤וֹ הָרָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
תַּקְרִ֣יב לָלֶ֔דֶת [2] Munach Zaqef
 
תָּחִ֥יל תִּזְעַ֖ק [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בַּחֲבָלֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
כֵּ֛ן [3] Tevir
הָיִ֥ינוּ מִפָּנֶ֖יךָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

about to give birth, [2]
 
she writhes, she cries out [2]
in her pain; [1]
 
so [3]
we were before you, [2]
O LORD. [1]
18 הָרִ֣ינוּ חַ֔לְנוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
כְּמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יָלַ֣דְנוּ ר֑וּחַ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
יְשׁוּעֹת֙ [3] Pashta
בַּל־נַ֣עֲשֶׂה אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּבַֽל־יִפְּל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
יֹשְׁבֵ֥י תֵבֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, [2]
yet [2]
we gave birth to wind; [1]
 
deliverance [3]
we are not accomplishing for the earth, [2]
 
and they are not being born (coming to life), [2]
the inhabitants of the world. [1]
19 יִֽחְי֣וּ מֵתֶ֔יךָ [2] Munach Zaqef
נְבֵלָתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יְקוּמ֑וּן [1] Etnachta
 
הָקִ֨יצוּ וְרַנְּנ֜וּ [4] Qadma Geresh
שֹׁכְנֵ֣י עָפָ֗ר [3] Munach Revi'a
 
כִּ֣י טַ֤ל אוֹרֹת֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta
טַלֶּ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
רְפָאִ֥ים תַּפִּֽיל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

my bodies, [2]
they shall rise; [1]
 
awake and sing for joy [4]
O those who dwell in the dust, [3]
 
for the dew of dawn [3]
is your dew, [2]
 
and the earth [2]
shall bring forth the departed spirits. [1]
20 לֵ֤ךְ עַמִּי֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בֹּ֣א בַֽחֲדָרֶ֔יךָ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּֽסְגֹ֥ר *דלתיך **דְּלָֽתְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בַּעֲדֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
חֲבִ֥י כִמְעַט־רֶ֖גַע [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַד־*יעבור **יַעֲבׇר־זָֽעַם׃ [1] Silluq

enter into your rooms, [2]
 
and shut your doors [2]
behind you; [1]
 
hide for a little while [2]
until the wrath has passed by. [1]

יֹצֵ֣א מִמְּקוֹמ֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לִפְקֹ֛ד [3] Tevir
עֲוֺ֥ן יֹֽשֵׁב־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עָלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְגִלְּתָ֤ה הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶת־דָּמֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־תְכַסֶּ֥ה ע֖וֹד [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַל־הֲרוּגֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq

is coming out from His place [2]
 
to punish [3]
the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth [2]
against him; [1]
 
and the earth will disclose [3]
her bloodshed, [2]
 
and she will no longer cover [2]
over her slain. [1]
