1 And it was, [3] at the hearing [3] of the king Hezekiah [2] his clothes; [1] and he went into [2] the house of the LORD. [1] |
|||
| 2 וַ֠יִּשְׁלַ֠ח [4] TelishaG אֶת־אֶלְיָקִ֨ים אֲשֶׁר־עַל־הַבַּ֜יִת [4] Qadma Geresh וְאֵ֣ת ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh שֶׁבְנָ֣א הַסּוֹפֵ֗ר [3] Munach Revi'a זִקְנֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef בַּשַּׂקִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta הַנָּבִֽיא׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Then he sent [4] Eliakim who was in charge of the palace [4] and [4] Shebna the scribe, [3] the elders of the priests, [2] with sackcloth; [1] the prophet. [1] |
|||
| 3 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו [3] Munach Revi'a כֹּ֚ה [3] Yetiv אָמַ֣ר חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ [2] Munach Zaqef וּנְאָצָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta עַד־מַשְׁבֵּ֔ר [2] Zaqef לְלֵדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
3 And they said to him, [3] “Thus [3] says Hezekiah, [2] and contempt [2] is this day; [1] to the point of birth, [2] for giving birth. [1] |

| 4 אוּלַ֡י [4] Pazer יִשְׁמַע֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh אֵ֣ת ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh דִּבְרֵ֣י רַבְשָׁקֵ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a לְחָרֵף֙ [3] Pashta אֱלֹהִ֣ים חַ֔י [2] Munach Zaqef בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ [1] Munach Etnachta בְּעַ֥ד הַשְּׁאֵרִ֖ית [2] Merkha Tip'cha הַנִּמְצָאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Perhaps [4] the LORD your God will hear [4] -- [4] the words of the chief commander, [3] to mock [3] the living God, [2] the words [2] the LORD your God; [1] for the remnant [2] that is left.’ ” [1] |
|||
| 5 וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ [3] Revi'a עַבְדֵ֛י [3] Tevir הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha אֶֽל־יְשַׁעְיָֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
5 When they came, [3] the servants [3] of the king Hezekiah, [2] to Isaiah, [1] |
|||
| 6 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta יְשַֽׁעְיָ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef אֶל־אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a מִפְּנֵ֤י הַדְּבָרִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֔עְתָּ [2] Munach Zaqef נַעֲרֵ֥י מֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֖וּר [2] Merkha Tip'cha אוֹתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
6 he said to them, [3] Isaiah, [2] to your master; [1] says the LORD, [3] of the words [3] that you have heard, [2] the servants of the king of Assyria, [2] me. [1] |

7 Behold I am putting in him [3] a spirit [2] and he will return to his own country; [1] in his own land.” ’ ” [1] |
|||
8 Then he returned, [3] the chief commander, [2] the king of Assyria [2] against Libnah; [1] that he had withdrawn [2] from Lachish. [1] |

| 9 וַיִּשְׁמַ֗ע [3] Revi'a עַל־תִּרְהָ֤קָה מֶֽלֶךְ־כּוּשׁ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם אִתָּ֑ךְ [1] Munach Etnachta וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח מַלְאָכִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
9 Now he had heard [3] concerning Tirhakah king of Cush [3] saying, [2] to fight against you.” [1] he sent messengers [2] saying, [1] |
|||
[1] Merkha Silluq |
10 “Thus you shall speak [3] to Hezekiah king of Judah [3] saying, [2] are trusting in him, [2] saying; [1] Jerusalem, [2] of the king of Assyria.” [1] |
|||
| 11 הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh אַתָּ֣ה שָׁמַ֗עְתָּ [3] Munach Revi'a מַלְכֵ֥י אַשּׁ֛וּר [3] Merkha Tevir לְכׇל־הָאֲרָצ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha תִּנָּצֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
11 Behold [4] you, you have heard [3] the kings of Assyria [3] to all the lands, [2] shall you be delivered? [1] |

12 Have they delivered them, [4] the gods of the nations [3] which my fathers destroyed, [2] and Haran; [1] who were in Telassar? [1] |

13 Where is the king of Hamath [3] or the king of Arpad, [2] of the city of Sepharvaim; [1] or Ivvah?’ ” [1] |

18 Truly [2] O LORD; [1] the kings of Assyria, [3] all the countries [2] and their lands, [1] |

26 Have you not heard from long ago, [3] I appointed it, [2] that I planned it? [1] to make desolate [3] ruinous heaps [2] of fortified cities. [1] |
