שִׁירַ֥ת דּוֹדִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְכַרְמ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כֶּ֛רֶם [3] Tevir
הָיָ֥ה לִידִידִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּקֶ֥רֶן בֶּן־שָֽׁמֶן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

a song of my beloved [2]
about his vineyard; [1]
 
a vineyard [3]
my beloved had, [2]
on a very fruitful hill. [1]

וְגַם־יֶ֖קֶב [2] Tip'cha
חָצֵ֣ב בּ֑וֹ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיְקַ֛ו [3] Tevir
לַֽעֲשׂ֥וֹת עֲנָבִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

with a choice vine, [2]
 
and he built a tower [3]
in the middle of it, [2]
 
and also a winepress [2]
he cut out in it; [1]

but it produced wild grapes. [1]

וְלֹ֥א עָשִׂ֖יתִי [2] Merkha Tip'cha

מַדּ֧וּעַ קִוֵּ֛יתִי [3] Darga Tevir
לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת עֲנָבִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

הָסֵ֤ר מְשׂוּכָּתוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְהָיָ֣ה לְבָעֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
פָּרֹ֥ץ גְּדֵר֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְהָיָ֥ה לְמִרְמָֽס׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

to my vineyard; [1]
 
I will take away its hedge [3]
and it will be eaten up, [2]
 
I will break down its wall [2]
and it will be trampled down. [1]
6 וַאֲשִׁיתֵ֣הוּ בָתָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
לֹ֤א יִזָּמֵר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יֵעָדֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְעָלָ֥ה שָׁמִ֖יר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וָשָׁ֑יִת [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַ֤ל הֶֽעָבִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֲצַוֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מֵהַמְטִ֥יר עָלָ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מָטָֽר׃ [1] Silluq

it will not be pruned [3]
and it will not be hoed, [2]
 
but briers will come up, [2]
and thorns; [1]
 
and the clouds [3]
I will command [2]
 
to not rain on it [2]

and he looked for justice [3]

but behold, a cry of distress. [1]

שָׂדֶ֥ה בְשָׂדֶ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha

עַ֚ד [3] Yetiv
אֶ֣פֶס מָק֔וֹם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהוּשַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לְבַדְּכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

(and) field to a field [2]

there is no room, [2]
 
and you will live alone [2]

בָּתִּ֤ים רַבִּים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְשַׁמָּ֣ה יִֽהְי֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
גְּדֹלִ֥ים וְטוֹבִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

(has said) the LORD of Hosts; [1]
 
“Surely [4]
many houses, [3]
they will become desolate, [2]
 
(even) the great and beautiful, [2]
from having no occupants. [1]

עֲשֶׂ֙רֶת֙ [3] Pashta
צִמְדֵּי־כֶ֔רֶם [2] Zaqef
 
יַעֲשׂ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בַּ֣ת אֶחָ֑ת [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְזֶ֥רַע חֹ֖מֶר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֵיפָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

they shall produce [2]
(only) one bath; [1]
 
and an omer of seed, [2]
it shall produce (only) one ephah.” [1]

מַשְׁכִּימֵ֥י בַבֹּ֖קֶר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שֵׁכָ֣ר יִרְדֹּ֑פוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
מְאַחֲרֵ֣י בַנֶּ֔שֶׁף [2] Munach Zaqef
יַ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha
יַדְלִיקֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq

those who rise up early in the morning, [2]
that they may run after strong drink; [1]
 
who stay up late at night, [2]
(until) wine, [2]
it inflames them! [1]
12 וְהָיָ֨ה כִנּ֜וֹר [4] Qadma Geresh
וָנֶ֗בֶל [3] Revi'a
 
תֹּ֧ף וְחָלִ֛יל [3] Darga Tevir
וָיַ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha
 
מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֨ת פֹּ֤עַל יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
לֹ֣א יַבִּ֔יטוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדָ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

and lyre, [3]
 
tambourine and flute [3]
and wine, [2]
 
at their banquets; [1]
 
but the deeds of the LORD [3]
they do not notice, [2]
 
and the works of his hands [2]

גָּלָ֥ה עַמִּ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִבְּלִי־דָ֑עַת [1] Etnachta
 
וּכְבוֹדוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
מְתֵ֣י רָעָ֔ב [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַהֲמוֹנ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
צִחֵ֥ה צָמָֽא׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

my people go into exile [2]
for lack of knowledge; [1]
 
and her nobles [3]
are famished, [2]
 
and her multitude [2]
is parched with thirst. [1]

הִרְחִ֤יבָה שְּׁאוֹל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
נַפְשָׁ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
וּפָעֲרָ֥ה פִ֖יהָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לִבְלִי־חֹ֑ק [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָרַ֨ד הֲדָרָ֧הּ וַהֲמוֹנָ֛הּ [3] Qadma Darga Tevir
וּשְׁאוֹנָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
וְעָלֵ֥ז בָּֽהּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

Sheol has enlarged [3]
its throat, [2]
 
and it opens wide its mouth [2]
beyond measure; [1]
 
and her nobles and her multitude go down, [3]
and her revelers, [2]
and the one who exults in her. [1]
15 וַיִּשַּׁ֥ח אָדָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיִּשְׁפַּל־אִ֑ישׁ [1] Etnachta
 
וְעֵינֵ֥י גְבֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּשְׁפַּֽלְנָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 15 So humanity is bowed down, [2]
mankind is humbled; [1]
 
and the eyes of the proud [2]
are humbled, [1]
16 וַיִּגְבַּ֛הּ [3] Tevir
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
הַקָּד֔וֹשׁ [2] Zaqef
 
נִקְדָּ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the LORD of Hosts, [2]
through justice; [1]
 
and God [3]
the Holy One [2]
 
will show himself holy [2]
through righteousness. [1]
17 וְרָע֥וּ כְבָשִׂ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כְּדׇבְרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְחׇרְב֥וֹת מֵחִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
גָּרִ֥ים יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 2 17 Then lambs will graze [2]
as in their own pasture; [1]
 
and the ruins of the wealthy, [2]
strangers will eat. [1]

בְּחַבְלֵ֣י הַשָּׁ֑וְא [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְכַעֲב֥וֹת הָעֲגָלָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
חַטָּאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

those who drag iniquity along [2]
with cords of deceit; [1]
 
and as with a cart rope, [2]
sin, [1]
19 הָאֹמְרִ֗ים [3] Revi'a
יְמַהֵ֧ר ׀ יָחִ֛ישָׁה [3] Darga Tevir
מַעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
לְמַ֣עַן נִרְאֶ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְתִקְרַ֣ב וְתָב֗וֹאָה [3] Munach Revi'a
עֲצַ֛ת [3] Tevir
קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְנֵדָֽעָה׃ [1] Silluq

and let it draw near and let it come, [3]

who present darkness as light [3]

those who are wise in their own eyes; [1]

וְאַנְשֵׁי־חַ֖יִל [2] Tip'cha
לִמְסֹ֥ךְ שֵׁכָֽר׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

those who are heroes [2]
at drinking wine; [1]
 
and valiant [2]
at mixing strong drink, [1]
23 מַצְדִּיקֵ֥י רָשָׁ֖ע [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עֵ֣קֶב שֹׁ֑חַד [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְצִדְקַ֥ת צַדִּיקִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יָסִ֥ירוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 2 23 who justify the wicked [2]
for a bribe; [1]
 
but justice for the righteous, [2]
they take away from him! [1]

תּוֹרַת֙ [3] Pashta
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef

אִמְרַ֥ת קְדֽוֹשׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
נִאֵֽצוּ׃ [1] Silluq

by a tongue of fire, [3]
 
and as chaff in a flame, [3]

וַיֵּ֣ט יָד֧וֹ עָלָ֣יו וַיַּכֵּ֗הוּ [3] Munach Darga Munach Revi'a
 
וַֽיִּרְגְּזוּ֙ [3] Pashta
הֶהָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַתְּהִ֧י נִבְלָתָ֛ם [3] Darga Tevir
כַּסּוּחָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּקֶ֣רֶב חוּצ֑וֹת [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בְּכׇל־זֹאת֙ [3] Pashta
לֹא־שָׁ֣ב אַפּ֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
יָד֥וֹ נְטוּיָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

the anger of the LORD is kindled against his people, [4]
and he has stretched out his hand against them and he has struck them, [3]
 
and they trembled, [3]
the hills, [2]
 
and their carcasses [3]
were like refuse [2]
in the middle of the streets; [1]
 
for all this [3]
his anger is not turned away, [2]
 
but still [2]
his hand is outstretched. [1]
26 וְנָֽשָׂא־נֵ֤ס לַגּוֹיִם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מֵרָח֔וֹק [2] Zaqef
 
וְשָׁ֥רַק ל֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִקְצֵ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֥ה מְהֵרָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
קַ֥ל יָבֽוֹא׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 26 And he will lift up a banner to the nations [3]
from far away, [2]
 
and he will whistle for them [2]
from the ends of the earth; [1]
 
and behold swiftly, [2]
speedily they come. [1]
27 אֵין־עָיֵ֤ף וְאֵין־כּוֹשֵׁל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א יָנ֖וּם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יִישָׁ֑ן [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֤א נִפְתַּח֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֵז֣וֹר חֲלָצָ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א נִתַּ֖ק [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שְׂר֥וֹךְ נְעָלָֽיו׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

among them, [2]
 
none will slumber [2]
and none will sleep; [1]
 
and it will not be untied, [3]
the belt of their waist, [2]
 
and it will not be broken, [2]
the strap of their sandals, [1]
28 אֲשֶׁ֤ר חִצָּיו֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
שְׁנוּנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְכׇל־קַשְּׁתֹתָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
דְּרֻכ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
פַּרְס֤וֹת סוּסָיו֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
כַּצַּ֣ר נֶחְשָׁ֔בוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְגַלְגִּלָּ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
כַּסּוּפָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

are sharpened, [2]
 
and all their bows [2]
bent; [1]
 
the hooves of their horses [3]
will be like flint, [2]
 
and their wheels [2]
like a whirlwind. [1]
29 שְׁאָגָ֥ה ל֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כַּלָּבִ֑יא [1] Etnachta
 
*ושאג **יִשְׁאַ֨ג כַּכְּפִירִ֤ים וְיִנְהֹם֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
וְיֹאחֵ֣ז טֶ֔רֶף [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְיַפְלִ֖יט [2] Tip'cha
וְאֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

will be like a lion; [1]
 
they will roar like young lions and they will growl, [3]
and they will seize prey, [2]
 
and they will carry it off [2]
and there will be none to rescue. [1]
30 וְיִנְהֹ֥ם עָלָ֛יו [3] Merkha Tevir
בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כְּנַהֲמַת־יָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִבַּ֤ט לָאָ֙רֶץ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְהִנֵּה־חֹ֔שֶׁךְ [2] Zaqef
 
צַ֣ר וָא֔וֹר [2] Munach Zaqef
חָשַׁ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בַּעֲרִיפֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq

in that day, [2]
like the growling of the sea; [1]
 
and if one looks to the land, [3]
behold darkness. [2]
 
Distress - even the light, [2]
