1 וַיַּֽעַן־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֶת־אִ֭יּוֹב [3] Dechi
*מנהסערה **מִ֥ן ׀ הַסְּעָרָ֗ה [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 Then the LORD answered Job [3]
out of the whirlwind [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין [3/2] Revi'i
בְּֽלִי־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 “Who is this [4]
who darkens counsel by words [3/2]
without knowledge? [1]
3 אֱזׇר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר [3] VDechi
חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Now gird up like a man [3]
your loins; [2]
 
for I will question you [2]
and you will answer me. [1]
4 אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ [3] Dechi
בְּיׇסְדִי־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
הַ֝גֵּ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 “Where were you [3]
when I laid the foundations of the earth? [2]
 
Declare, [2]
if you have understanding. [1]
5 מִי־שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ [3] Dechi
כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ [2] VRevMug
קָּֽו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Who determined its measures, [3]
if you know; [2]
 
or who stretched out on it [2]
the line? [1]
6 עַל־מָ֭ה [3] Dechi
אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הׇטְבָּ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta
 
א֥וֹ מִי־יָ֝רָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 On what [3]
were its foundations set; [2]
 
or who laid [2]
its cornerstone, [1]
7 בְּרׇן־יַ֭חַד [3] Dechi
כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 when sang together [3]
the morning stars; [2]
 
and they shouted for joy [2]
all the sons of God? [1]
8 וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם [3] VDechi
יָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 “And who shut up with doors [3]
the sea; [2]
 
when it burst forth, [2]
from the womb it came forth, [1]
9 בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן [3] VDechi
לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 when I made clouds [3]
its garment; [2]
 
and thick darkness [2]
its swaddling cloth, [1]
10 וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו [3] VDechi
חֻקִּ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וָ֝אָשִׂ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 and I marked out for it [3]
my boundary; [2]
 
and I set in place [2]
bars and gates, [1]
11 וָאֹמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i
עַד־פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף [2] Etnachta
 
וּפֹא־יָ֝שִׁ֗ית [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 11 and I said, [3]
‘This far you may come, [3]
but no further; [2]
 
and here shall be stayed [2]
your proud waves’? [1]
12 הֲֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ [3] Dechi
צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta
 
*ידעתה *שחר **יִדַּ֖עְתָּ **הַשַּׁ֣חַר [2] VRevMug
מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 “Since your days began, [3]
have you commanded the morning; [2]
 
have you caused the dawn to know [2]
its place, [1]
13 לֶ֭אֱחֹז [3] Dechi
בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 to take hold [3]
of the corners of the earth; [2]
 
and shake the wicked [2]
out of it? [1]
14 תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ [3] Dechi
כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 It changes shape [3]
like the clay of a seal; [2]
 
and they stand out [2]
like those of a garment. [1]
15 וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים [3] VDechi
אוֹרָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 And it is withheld from the wicked, [3]
their light; [2]
 
and an arm uplifted, [2]
it is broken. [1]
16 הֲ֭בָאתָ [3] Dechi
עַד־נִבְכֵי־יָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 “Have you gone [3]
to the springs of the sea; [2]
 
or in the recesses of the deep [2]
have you walked? [1]
17 הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ [3] Dechi
שַׁעֲרֵי־מָ֑וֶת [2] Etnachta
 
וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת [2] VRevMug
תִּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 Have they been revealed to you, [3]
the gates of death; [2]
 
or the gates of deep darkness [2]
have you seen? [1]
18 הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ [3] Dechi
עַד־רַחֲבֵי־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
הַ֝גֵּ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Have you comprehended [3]
the earth in all its expanse? [2]
 
Declare, [2]
if you know it all. [1]
19 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ [3] Dechi
יִשְׁכׇּן־א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵי־זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 “Where is the way [3]
to the dwelling of light; [2]
 
and darkness, [2]
where is its place, [1]
20 כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ [3] Dechi
אֶל־גְּבוּל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְכִי־תָ֝בִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 that you can take it [3]
to its territory; [2]
 
and that you can discern [2]
the paths to its house? [1]
21 יָ֭דַעְתָּ [3] Dechi
כִּי־אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ [2] VRevMug
רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Surely you know, [3]
for you were born then; [2]
 
and the number of your days [2]
is great! [1]
22 הֲ֭בָאתָ [3] Dechi
אֶל־אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג [2] Etnachta
 
וְאוֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד [2] VRevMug
תִּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Have you gone [3]
into the storehouses of snow; [2]
 
or the storehouses of hail [2]
have you seen, [1]
23 אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־צָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 23 which I have reserved for a time of distress; [2]
 
for a day of battle [2]
and war? [1]
24 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ [3] Dechi
יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 What is the way to the place [3]
where the light is distributed; [2]
 
or where the east wind is scattered [2]
over the earth? [1]
25 מִֽי־פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף [3] VDechi
תְּעָלָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Who has cut for the floodwaters [3]
a channel; [2]
 
and a path [2]
for the thunderbolt, [1]
26 לְ֭הַמְטִיר [3] Dechi
עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 to send rain [3]
on a land where there is no one; [2]
 
a wilderness [2]
with no man in it, [1]
27 לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה [3] Dechi
וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 to satisfy devastation [3]
and desolation; [2]
 
and to cause to sprout [2]
fresh grass? [1]
28 הֲיֵשׁ־לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
א֥וֹ מִי־ה֝וֹלִ֗יד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶגְלֵי־טָֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 28 Does the rain have a father; [2]
 
or who gives birth to [2]
the drops of dew? [1]
29 מִבֶּ֣טֶן מִ֭י [3] Dechi
יָצָ֣א הַקָּ֑רַח [2] Etnachta
 
וּכְפֹ֥ר שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יְלָדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 From whose womb [3]
does the ice come forth; [2]
 
and the frost of the heavens, [2]
who gives birth to it? [1]
30 כָּ֭אֶבֶן [3] Dechi
מַ֣יִם יִתְחַבָּ֑אוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּפְנֵ֥י תְ֝ה֗וֹם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְלַכָּֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 30 Like stone [3]
the waters become hard; [2]
 
and the surface of the deep, [2]
it freezes. [1]
31 הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר [3] Dechi
מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
אֽוֹ־מֹשְׁכ֖וֹת כְּסִ֣יל [2] VRevMug
תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 “Can you bind [3]
the chains of the Pleiades; [2]
 
or the cords of Orion [2]
can you loosen? [1]
32 הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת [3] VDechi
בְּעִתּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 32 Can you lead out the constellations [3]
in their season; [2]
 
or the Bear [2]
with her cubs can you guide them? [1]
33 הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ [3] Dechi
חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־תָּשִׂ֖ים מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
בָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 33 Do you know [3]
the ordinances of the heavens? [2]
 
Or can you establish their rule [2]
over the earth? [1]
34 הֲתָרִ֣ים לָעָ֣ב [3] VDechi
קוֹלֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽשִׁפְעַת־מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 34 “Can you lift up to the clouds [3]
your voice; [2]
 
and with an abundance of water cover yourself? [1]
35 הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח בְּרָקִ֣ים [3] VDechi
וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְיֹֽאמְר֖וּ לְךָ֣ [2] VRevMug
הִנֵּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 35 Can you send forth lightning flashes, [3]
so they go; [2]
 
and they will say to you, [2]
‘Here we are’? [1]
36 מִי־שָׁ֣ת בַּטֻּח֣וֹת [3] VDechi
חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָתַ֖ן לַשֶּׂ֣כְוִי [2] VRevMug
בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 36 Who has put in the inward parts [3]
wisdom; [2]
 
or who has given to the heart [2]
understanding? [1]
37 מִֽי־יְסַפֵּ֣ר שְׁחָקִ֣ים [3] VDechi
בְּחׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְנִבְלֵ֥י שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יַשְׁכִּֽיב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 37 Who can count the clouds [3]
by wisdom; [2]
 
or the jars of the heavens, [2]
who can tip over, [1]
38 בְּצֶ֣קֶת עָ֭פָר [3] Dechi
לַמּוּצָ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
וּרְגָבִ֥ים יְדֻבָּֽקוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 38 when the dust hardens [3]
into a mass; [2]
 
and the clods of earth stick together? [1]
39 הֲתָצ֣וּד לְלָבִ֣יא [3] VDechi
טָ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta
 
וְחַיַּ֖ת כְּפִירִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
תְּמַלֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 39 “Do you hunt for a lioness [3]
the prey; [2]
 
and the hunger of the young lions [2]
satisfy, [1]
40 כִּֽי־יָשֹׁ֥חוּ בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
יֵֽשְׁב֖וּ בַסֻּכָּ֣ה [2] VRevMug
לְמוֹ־אָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 40 when they crouch in their dens; [2]
 
or they stay in the thicket [2]
to lie in wait? [1]
41 מִ֤י יָכִ֥ין לָעֹרֵ֗ב [3] Revi'i
צֵ֫יד֥וֹ [2] Ole Veyored
 
כִּֽי־יְ֭לָדָו [3] Dechi
אֶל־אֵ֣ל יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta
 
יִ֝תְע֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִבְלִי־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 41 Who provides for the raven [3]
its food; [2]
 
when its young ones, [3]
they cry to God for help, [2]
 
as they wander about [2]
for lack of food? [1]
