בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הָרַ֖ע [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּתְּנֵ֧ם יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Darga Tevir
בְּיַד־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אַרְבָּעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 3 1 The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. ¶ [3]
2 וַיְהִי֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶחָ֧ד מִצׇּרְעָ֛ה [3] TelishaQ Qadma Darga Tevir
מִמִּשְׁפַּ֥חַת הַדָּנִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּשְׁמ֣וֹ מָנ֑וֹחַ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְאִשְׁתּ֥וֹ עֲקָרָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א יָלָֽדָה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless. [3]
3 וַיֵּרָ֥א מַלְאַךְ־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶל־הָאִשָּׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֶ֗יהָ [3] Munach Revi'a
הִנֵּה־נָ֤א אַתְּ־עֲקָרָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יָלַ֔דְתְּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהָרִ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
וְיָלַ֥דְתְּ בֵּֽן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 3 The LORD’s angel appeared to the woman, and said to her, “See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive and bear a son. [2]
4 וְעַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
הִשָּׁ֣מְרִי נָ֔א [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְאַל־תִּשְׁתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יַ֣יִן וְשֵׁכָ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תֹּאכְלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־טָמֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 4 Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing; [3]
5 כִּי֩ הִנָּ֨ךְ הָרָ֜ה [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
וְיֹלַ֣דְתְּ בֵּ֗ן [3] Munach Revi'a
 
וּמוֹרָה֙ [3] Pashta
לֹא־יַעֲלֶ֣ה עַל־רֹאשׁ֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־נְזִ֧יר אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Darga Tevir
יִֽהְיֶ֥ה הַנַּ֖עַר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִן־הַבָּ֑טֶן [1] Etnachta
 
וְה֗וּא [3] Revi'a
יָחֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִיַּ֥ד פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 3 3 5 for, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” ¶ [4]

מַלְאַ֥ךְ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
נוֹרָ֣א מְאֹ֑ד [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֤א שְׁאִלְתִּ֙יהוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֵֽי־מִזֶּ֣ה ה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לֹא־הִגִּ֥יד לִֽי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 2 3 2 3 2 6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name; [3]

הִנָּ֥ךְ הָרָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְיֹלַ֣דְתְּ בֵּ֑ן [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְעַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
אַל־תִּשְׁתִּ֣י ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh
יַ֣יִן וְשֵׁכָ֗ר [3] Munach Revi'a
 
וְאַל־תֹּֽאכְלִי֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־טֻמְאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־נְזִ֤יר אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
יִֽהְיֶ֣ה הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
מִן־הַבֶּ֖טֶן [2] Tip'cha
עַד־י֥וֹם מוֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

יָבוֹא־נָ֥א עוֹד֙ [3] Merkha Pashta
אֵלֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְיוֹרֵ֕נוּ [2] ZaqefG
מַֽה־נַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לַנַּ֥עַר הַיּוּלָּֽד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 2 8 Then Manoah entreated the LORD, and said, “Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.” ¶ [3]
9 וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּק֣וֹל מָנ֑וֹחַ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיָּבֹ֣א מַלְאַךְ֩ הָאֱלֹהִ֨ים ע֜וֹד [4] Munach TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
אֶל־הָאִשָּׁ֗ה [3] Revi'a
 
וְהִיא֙ [3] Pashta
יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּמָנ֥וֹחַ אִישָׁ֖הּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵ֥ין עִמָּֽהּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 3 2 9 God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah, her husband, wasn’t with her. [2]
10 וַתְּמַהֵר֙ [3] Pashta
הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַתָּ֖רׇץ [2] Tip'cha
וַתַּגֵּ֣ד לְאִישָׁ֑הּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef
 
הִנֵּ֨ה נִרְאָ֤ה אֵלַי֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
הָאִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֥א בַיּ֖וֹם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵלָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

אַחֲרֵ֣י אִשְׁתּ֑וֹ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיָּבֹא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־הָאִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ [3] Munach Revi'a
הַאַתָּ֥ה הָאִ֛ישׁ [3] Merkha Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֥רְתָּ אֶל־הָאִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אָֽנִי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 3 11 Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” ¶He said, “I am.” ¶ [3]
12 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מָנ֔וֹחַ [2] Munach Zaqef
עַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יָבֹ֣א דְבָרֶ֑יךָ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
מַה־יִּהְיֶ֥ה מִשְׁפַּט־הַנַּ֖עַר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּמַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 12 Manoah said, “Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?” ¶ [2]
13 וַיֹּ֛אמֶר [3] Tevir
מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶל־מָנ֑וֹחַ [1] Etnachta
 
מִכֹּ֛ל [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־אָמַ֥רְתִּי אֶל־הָאִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּשָּׁמֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 13 The LORD’s angel said to Manoah, “Of all that I said to the woman let her beware. [3]
14 מִכֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־יֵצֵא֩ מִגֶּ֨פֶן הַיַּ֜יִן [4] Munach TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
לֹ֣א תֹאכַ֗ל [3] Munach Revi'a
 
וְיַ֤יִן וְשֵׁכָר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אַל־תֵּ֔שְׁתְּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְכׇל־טֻמְאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אַל־תֹּאכַ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוִּיתִ֖יהָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 4 3 2 2 14 She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. Let her observe all that I commanded her.” ¶ [4]
15 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מָנ֖וֹחַ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶל־מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
נַעְצְרָה־נָּ֣א אוֹתָ֔ךְ [2] Munach Zaqef
וְנַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לְפָנֶ֖יךָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
גְּדִ֥י עִזִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 15 Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “Please stay with us, that we may make a young goat ready for you.” ¶ [2]
16 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
אֶל־מָנ֗וֹחַ [3] Revi'a
 
אִם־תַּעְצְרֵ֙נִי֙ [3] Pashta
לֹא־אֹכַ֣ל בְּלַחְמֶ֔ךָ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְאִם־תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה עֹלָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
לַיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
תַּעֲלֶ֑נָּה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv
לֹא־יָדַ֣ע מָנ֔וֹחַ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq

to Manoah, [3]
 
“If you detain me [3]
I won’t eat any of your food; [2]
 
and if you prepare a burnt offering, [2]
to the LORD [2]
you must offer it up.” [1]

Manoah didn’t know [2]
 
that the angel of the LORD [2]
was he. [1]

כִּֽי־יָבֹ֥א *דבריך **דְבָרְךָ֖ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְכִבַּדְנֽוּךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 17 Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?” ¶ [3]
18 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לָ֥מָּה זֶּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּשְׁאַ֣ל לִשְׁמִ֑י [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְהוּא־פֶֽלִאי׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 2 18 The LORD’s angel said to him, “Why do you ask about my name, since it is incomprehensible?” ¶ [3]
19 וַיִּקַּ֨ח מָנ֜וֹחַ [4] Qadma Geresh
אֶת־גְּדִ֤י הָֽעִזִּים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיַּ֥עַל עַל־הַצּ֖וּר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וּמַפְלִ֣א לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef
וּמָנ֥וֹחַ וְאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
רֹאִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 2 2 19 So Manoah took the young goat with the meal offering, and offered it on the rock to the LORD. Then the angel did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched. [4]
20 וַיְהִי֩ בַעֲל֨וֹת הַלַּ֜הַב [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
מֵעַ֤ל הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
הַשָּׁמַ֔יְמָה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיַּ֥עַל מַלְאַךְ־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּלַ֣הַב הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וּמָנ֤וֹחַ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
רֹאִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּפְּל֥וּ עַל־פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אָֽרְצָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 2 3 2 20 For when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, the LORD’s angel ascended in the flame of the altar. Manoah and his wife watched; and they fell on their faces to the ground. [4]
21 וְלֹא־יָ֤סַף עוֹד֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְהֵרָאֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־מָנ֣וֹחַ וְאֶל־אִשְׁתּ֑וֹ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
אָ֚ז [3] Yetiv
יָדַ֣ע מָנ֔וֹחַ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 21 But the LORD’s angel didn’t appear to Manoah or to his wife any more. Then Manoah knew that he was the LORD’s angel. [3]
22 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר מָנ֛וֹחַ [3] Darga Tevir
אֶל־אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
מ֣וֹת נָמ֑וּת [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
רָאִֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 22 Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, because we have seen God.” ¶ [3]
23 וַתֹּ֧אמֶר ל֣וֹ אִשְׁתּ֗וֹ [3] Darga Munach Revi'a
לוּ֩ חָפֵ֨ץ יְהֹוָ֤ה לַהֲמִיתֵ֙נוּ֙ [3] TelishaQ Qadma Mapakh Pashta
לֹֽא־לָקַ֤ח מִיָּדֵ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
עֹלָ֣ה וּמִנְחָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א הֶרְאָ֖נוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־כׇּל־אֵ֑לֶּה [1] Etnachta
 
וְכָעֵ֕ת [2] ZaqefG
לֹ֥א הִשְׁמִיעָ֖נוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כָּזֹֽאת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 3 2 2 2 23 But his wife said to him, “If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he wouldn’t have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, and he wouldn’t have shown us all these things, nor would he have told us such things as these at this time.” [3]
24 וַתֵּ֤לֶד הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּגְדַּ֣ל הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Munach Zaqef
וַֽיְבָרְכֵ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 24 The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and the LORD blessed him. [3]
25 וַתָּ֙חֶל֙ [3] Pashta
ר֣וּחַ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְפַעֲמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בְּמַחֲנֵה־דָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
בֵּ֥ין צׇרְעָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּבֵ֥ין אֶשְׁתָּאֹֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 25 The LORD’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol. ¶ [3]
