בַּלַּ֥יְלָה הַהֽוּא׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 1 All the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. [3]
2 וַיִּלֹּ֙נוּ֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן [2] Munach Zaqef

בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַֽיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֲלֵהֶ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh
כׇּל־הָעֵדָ֗ה [3] Revi'a
 
לוּ־מַ֙תְנוּ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
א֛וֹ [3] Tevir
בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לוּ־מָֽתְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness! [3]

הֲל֧וֹא ט֦וֹב לָ֖נוּ [2] Darga MerkhaK Tip'cha
שׁ֥וּב מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 2 2 3 Why does the LORD bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?” [4]

1 2 2 4 They said to one another, “Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.” ¶ [2]

1 2 3 2 2 5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. ¶ [3]

בִּגְדֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 6 Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes. [3]

מְאֹ֥ד מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 3 2 7 They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land. [2]
8 אִם־חָפֵ֥ץ בָּ֙נוּ֙ [3] Merkha Pashta
יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֵבִ֤יא אֹתָ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את [2] Munach Zaqef

לָ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta

אַל־תִּירָאֻֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 3 9 Only don’t rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us. Don’t fear them.” ¶ [3]

1 2 3 2 2 3 3 2 10 But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. ¶The LORD’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel. [3]

עַד־אָ֥נָה יְנַאֲצֻ֖נִי [2] Merkha Tip'cha

לֹא־יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ בִ֔י [2] Munach Zaqef

הָֽאֹת֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 3 2 11 The LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them? [3]
12 אַכֶּ֥נּוּ בַדֶּ֖בֶר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְאוֹרִשֶׁ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ [3] Pashta
אֹֽתְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
 
לְגוֹי־גָּד֥וֹל וְעָצ֖וּם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 12 I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.” ¶ [2]

1 2 2 2 3 13 Moses said to the LORD, “Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them. [2]

אֶל־יוֹשֵׁב֮ [3] Zarqa
הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּאת֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ [3] Pashta
כִּֽי־אַתָּ֣ה יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef

וּבְעַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לָֽיְלָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 2 3 4 4 3 2 3 3 2 14 They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you LORD are among this people; for you LORD are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night. [3]

1 2 3 2 3 2 15 Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, [3]

אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef

אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֣ע לָהֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 16 ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’ [4]

1 2 2 2 17 Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying, [2]

עַל־בָּנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְעַל־רִבֵּעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 3 4 2 18 ‘The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’ [3]

מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
וְעַד־הֵֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 19 Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” ¶ [3]

כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 20 The LORD said, “I have pardoned according to your word; [2]
21 וְאוּלָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
חַי־אָ֑נִי [1] Etnachta
 
וְיִמָּלֵ֥א כְבוֹד־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 21 but in very deed—as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the LORD’s glory— [2]
22 כִּ֣י כׇל־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים [3] Munach Revi'a
הָרֹאִ֤ים אֶת־כְּבֹדִי֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְאֶת־אֹ֣תֹתַ֔י [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֥יתִי בְמִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Merkha Tip'cha

לָבַ֣ז יִהְיֶ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta

וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר מְאַסְתֶּ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 3 2 31 But I will bring your little ones that you said should be captured or killed in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected. [2]

בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 32 But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness. [2]

לָת֥וּר אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 38 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land. ¶ [2]

1 2 2 2 3 3 3 40 They rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised; for we have sinned.” ¶ [2]

1 2 2 3 2 41 Moses said, “Why now do you disobey the commandment of the LORD, since it shall not prosper? [2]

1 2 2 3 2 3 2 42 Don’t go up, for the LORD isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies. [2]

מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עִמָּכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 43 For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following the LORD; therefore the LORD will not be with you.” ¶ [3]

לֹא־מָ֖שׁוּ [2] Tip'cha
מִקֶּ֥רֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 44 But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain. Nevertheless, the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses didn’t depart out of the camp. [2]

וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י [2] Zaqef

עַד־הַֽחׇרְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
