1 גַּם־אֵ֭לֶּה [3] Dechi
מִשְׁלֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶ֝עְתִּ֗יקוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַנְשֵׁ֤י ׀ [4/2] Mahpakh Legarmeh
חִזְקִיָּ֬ה מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 1 These also [3]
are proverbs of Solomon; [2]
 
which they copied, [2]
the men [4/2]
of Hezekiah king of Judah. [1]
2 כְּבֹ֣ד אֱ֭לֹהִים [3] Dechi
הַסְתֵּ֣ר דָּבָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וּכְבֹ֥ד מְ֝לָכִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֲקֹ֣ר דָּבָֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 The glory of God [3]
is to conceal a matter; [2]
 
but the glory of kings [2]
is to search out a matter. [1]
3 שָׁמַ֣יִם לָ֭רוּם [3] Dechi
וָאָ֣רֶץ לָעֹ֑מֶק [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֵ֥ב מְ֝לָכִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵ֣ין חֵֽקֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 As the heavens for height [3]
and the earth for depth; [2]
 
so the heart of kings [2]
is unsearchable. [1]
4 הָג֣וֹ סִיגִ֣ים [3] VDechi
מִכָּ֑סֶף [2] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּצֵ֖א לַצֹּרֵ֣ף [2] VRevMug
כֶּֽלִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Take away the dross [3]
from silver; [2]
 
and comes out for the metalsmith [2]
a vessel. [1]
5 הָג֣וֹ רָ֭שָׁע [3] Dechi
לִפְנֵי־מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וְיִכּ֖וֹן בַּצֶּ֣דֶק [2] VRevMug
כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Take away the wicked [3]
from before a king; [2]
 
and it will be established in righteousness, [2]
his throne. [1]
6 אַל־תִּתְהַדַּ֥ר לִפְנֵי־מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וּבִמְק֥וֹם גְּ֝דֹלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַֽל־תַּעֲמֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 6 Do not claim honor before a king; [2]
 
and in the place of great men [2]
do not stand, [1]
7 כִּ֤י ט֥וֹב אֲמׇר־לְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
עֲֽלֵ֫ה הֵ֥נָּה [2] Ole Veyored
 
מֵ֭הַשְׁפִּ֣ילְךָ [3] Dechi
לִפְנֵ֣י נָדִ֑יב [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר רָא֣וּ [2] VRevMug
עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 7 for better that it be said to you, [3]
“Come up here,” [2]
 
than for you to be humbled [3]
before a prince [2]
 
whom they have seen, [2]
your eyes. [1]
8 אַל־תֵּצֵ֥א לָרִ֗ב [3] Revi'i
מַ֫הֵ֥ר [2] Ole Veyored
 
פֶּ֣ן מַה־תַּ֭עֲשֶׂה [3] Dechi
בְּאַחֲרִיתָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
בְּהַכְלִ֖ים אֹתְךָ֣ [2] VRevMug
רֵעֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 8 Don’t bring charges to court [3]
hastily; [2]
 
for what will you do [3]
in the end [2]
 
when you are put to shame [2]
by your neighbor? [1]
9 רִ֭יבְךָ [3] Dechi
רִ֣יב אֶת־רֵעֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְס֖וֹד אַחֵ֣ר [2] VRevMug
אַל־תְּגָֽל׃ [1] Silluq

conduct with your neighbor; [2]
 
and the secret of another [2]
do not reveal, [1]
10 פֶּֽן־יְחַסֶּדְךָ֥ שֹׁמֵ֑עַ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝דִבָּתְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תָשֽׁוּב׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 10 lest one who hears it put you to shame; [2]
 
and your bad reputation [2]
will never depart. [1]
11 תַּפּוּחֵ֣י זָ֭הָב [3] Dechi
בְּמַשְׂכִּיּ֥וֹת כָּ֑סֶף [2] Etnachta
 
דָּ֝בָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דָּבֻ֥ר עַל־אׇפְנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Like apples of gold [3]
in settings of silver; [2]
 
is a word [2]
fitly spoken. [1]
12 נֶ֣זֶם זָ֭הָב [3] Dechi
וַחֲלִי־כָ֑תֶם [2] Etnachta
 
מוֹכִ֥יחַ חָ֝כָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־אֹ֥זֶן שֹׁמָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 An earring of gold [3]
and an ornament of fine gold; [2]
 
is a wise reproof [2]
to a listening ear. [1]
13 כְּצִנַּת־שֶׁ֨לֶג ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
בְּי֬וֹם קָצִ֗יר [3] Revi'i
 
צִ֣יר נֶ֭אֱמָן [3] Dechi
לְשֹׁלְחָ֑יו [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ אֲדֹנָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
יָשִֽׁיב׃ [1] Silluq

in the day of harvest [3]
 
is a faithful messenger [3]
to those who send him; [2]
 
for the soul of his masters [2]
he will refresh. [1]
14 נְשִׂיאִ֣ים וְ֭רוּחַ [3] Dechi
וְגֶ֣שֶׁם אָ֑יִן [2] Etnachta
 
אִ֥ישׁ מִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּמַתַּת־שָֽׁקֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 Clouds and wind [3]
without rain; [2]
 
is a person who boasts [2]
in a gift falsely. [1]
15 בְּאֹ֣רֶךְ אַ֭פַּיִם [3] Dechi
יְפֻתֶּ֣ה קָצִ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
וְלָשׁ֥וֹן רַ֝כָּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּשְׁבׇּר־גָּֽרֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Through patience [3]
a ruler can be persuaded; [2]
 
and a soft tongue, [2]
it can break a bone. [1]
16 דְּבַ֣שׁ מָ֭צָאתָ [3] Dechi
אֱכֹ֣ל דַּיֶּ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta
 
פֶּן־תִּ֝שְׂבָּעֶ֗נּוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַהֲקֵאתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 If you have found honey, [3]
eat only what you need; [2]
 
lest you get too much [2]
and vomit it. [1]
17 הֹקַ֣ר רַ֭גְלְךָ [3] Dechi
מִבֵּ֣ית רֵעֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
פֶּן־יִ֝שְׂבָּעֲךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּשְׂנֵאֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 Let your foot be seldom [3]
in the house of your neighbor; [2]
 
lest he get too much of you [2]
and he hate you. [1]
18 מֵפִ֣יץ וְ֭חֶרֶב [3] Dechi
וְחֵ֣ץ שָׁנ֑וּן [2] Etnachta
 
אִ֥ישׁ עֹנֶ֥ה בְ֝רֵעֵ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֵ֣ד שָֽׁקֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 A club and a sword, [3]
and a sharpened arrow; [2]
 
is a man who testifies against his neighbor [2]
a false testimony. [1]
19 שֵׁ֣ן רֹ֭עָה [3] Dechi
וְרֶ֣גֶל מוּעָ֑דֶת [2] Etnachta
 
מִבְטָ֥ח בּ֝וֹגֵ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּי֣וֹם צָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 A broken tooth [3]
or a lame foot; [2]
 
is confidence in the treacherous [2]
in a day of trouble. [1]
20 מַ֥עֲדֶה־בֶּ֨גֶד ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
בְּי֣וֹם קָ֭רָה [3] Dechi
חֹ֣מֶץ עַל־נָ֑תֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֥ר בַּ֝שִּׁרִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַ֣ל לֶב־רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 4 2 20 Like taking away a garment [4]
on a cold day, [3]
or like vinegar on soda; [2]
 
is one who sings songs [2]
to a heavy heart. [1]
21 אִם־רָעֵ֣ב שֹׂ֭נַאֲךָ [3] Dechi
הַאֲכִלֵ֣הוּ לָ֑חֶם [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־צָ֝מֵ֗א [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הַשְׁקֵ֥הוּ מָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 If your enemy is hungry [3]
give him food to eat; [2]
 
and if thirsty [2]
give him water to drink, [1]
22 כִּ֤י גֶחָלִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
אַ֭תָּה [3] Dechi
חֹתֶ֣ה עַל־רֹאשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝יהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְשַׁלֶּם־לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 22 for burning coals [3]
you [3]
will heap on his head; [2]
 
and the LORD, [2]
he will reward you. [1]
23 ר֣וּחַ צָ֭פוֹן [3] Dechi
תְּח֣וֹלֵֽל גָּ֑שֶׁם [2] Etnachta
 
וּפָנִ֥ים נִ֝זְעָמִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְשׁ֣וֹן סָֽתֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 A north wind, [3]
it brings forth rain; [2]
 
and angry faces, [2]
a backbiting tongue. [1]
24 ט֗וֹב [3] Revi'i
שֶׁ֥בֶת עַל־פִּנַּת־גָּ֑ג [2] Etnachta
 
מֵאֵ֥שֶׁת *מדונים **מִ֝דְיָנִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּבֵ֥ית חָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Better [3]
to dwell in the corner of a housetop; [2]
 
than (with) a contentious woman [2]
to share a house. [1]
25 מַ֣יִם קָ֭רִים [3] Dechi
עַל־נֶ֣פֶשׁ עֲיֵפָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּשְׁמוּעָ֥ה ט֝וֹבָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מֶרְחָֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Cold water [3]
to a weary soul; [2]
 
is good news [2]
from a distant land. [1]
26 מַעְיָ֣ן נִ֭רְפָּשׂ [3] Dechi
וּמָק֣וֹר מׇשְׁחָ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
צַ֝דִּ֗יק [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מָ֣ט לִפְנֵֽי־רָשָֽׁע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 A muddied spring [3]
or a polluted well; [2]
 
is the righteous [2]
who gives way before the wicked. [1]
27 אָ֘כֹ֤ל דְּבַ֣שׁ הַרְבּ֣וֹת [3] VDechi
לֹא־ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וְחֵ֖קֶר כְּבֹדָ֣ם [2] VRevMug
כָּבֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 To eat much honey [3]
is not good; [2]
 
nor is to seek one’s own honor [2]
honorable. [1]
28 עִ֣יר פְּ֭רוּצָה [3] Dechi
אֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
אִ֝֗ישׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֵ֖ין מַעְצָ֣ר [2] VRevMug
לְרוּחֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

without walls; [2]
 
is a person [2]
with no restraint [2]
on his spirit. [1]
