1 Like snow [4] in the summer [3] or rain at the harvest; [2] is honor. [1] |

2 כַּצִּפּ֣וֹר לָ֭נוּד [3] Dechi כַּדְּר֣וֹר לָע֑וּף [2] Etnachta *לא **ל֣וֹ תָבֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Like a fluttering sparrow [3] or a darting swallow; [2] doesn’t come to rest. [1] |

3 A whip for a horse, [3] a bridle for a donkey; [2] for the back of fools. [1] |

13 A sluggard says, [3] “There's a lion on the road! [2] is in the streets!” [1] |

14 The door, [3] it turns on its hinges; [2] on his bed. [1] |

15 טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭דוֹ [3] Dechi בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת [2] Etnachta לַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ אֶל־פִּֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
15 A sluggard buries his hand [3] in the dish; [2] to bring it back to his mouth. [1] |

16 חָכָ֣ם עָצֵ֣ל [3] VDechi בְּעֵינָ֑יו [2] Etnachta מְשִׁ֣יבֵי טָֽעַם׃ [1] Silluq |
16 A sluggard is wiser [3] in his own eyes; [2] who answer with discretion. [1] |

17 מַחֲזִ֥יק בְּאׇזְנֵי־כָ֑לֶב [2] Etnachta עַל־רִ֥יב לֹּא־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
17 Like one who takes a dog by the ears; [2] in a quarrel not his own. [1] |

18 כְּֽ֭מִתְלַהְלֵהַּ [3] Dechi הַיֹּרֶ֥ה זִקִּ֗ים [3/2] Revi'i חִצִּ֥ים וָמָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Like a madman [3] who shoots firebrands, [3/2] arrows and death, [1] |

19 כֵּֽן־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi רִמָּ֣ה אֶת־רֵעֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta הֲֽלֹא־מְשַׂחֵ֥ק אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
19 is a person [3] who deceives his neighbor; [2] “I was only joking.” [1] |

20 בְּאֶ֣פֶס עֵ֭צִים [3] Dechi תִּכְבֶּה־אֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta יִשְׁתֹּ֥ק מָדֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Without wood [3] a fire goes out; [2] a quarrel dies down. [1] |

21 פֶּחָ֣ם לְ֭גֶחָלִים [3] Dechi וְעֵצִ֣ים לְאֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta לְחַרְחַר־רִֽיב׃ [1] Silluq פ |
21 As charcoal to hot embers [3] and wood to fire; [2] to kindling strife. [1] ¶ |

22 דִּבְרֵ֣י נִ֭רְגָּן [3] Dechi כְּמִֽתְלַהֲמִ֑ים [2] Etnachta יָרְד֥וּ חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ [1] Silluq |
22 The words of a whisperer [3] are like tasty morsels; [2] they go down into the innermost parts. [1] |

24 With his lips, [3] one who hates disguises himself; [2] he harbors deceit. [1] |

25 When he speaks graciously, [3] don’t believe him; [2] are in his heart. [1] |

26 Hatred covers itself [3] with deception; [2] in the assembly. [1] |

27 כֹּֽרֶה־שַּׁ֭חַת [3] Dechi בָּ֣הּ יִפּ֑וֹל [2] Etnachta אֵלָ֥יו תָּשֽׁוּב׃ [1] Silluq |
27 Whoever digs a pit, [3] he shall fall into it; [2] to him it will return. [1] |
