| 1 כַּשֶּׁ֤לֶג ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh  בַּקַּ֗יִץ [3] Revi'i וְכַמָּטָ֥ר בַּקָּצִ֑יר [2] Etnachta כָּבֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq  | 
1 Like snow [4]  in the summer [3] or rain at the harvest; [2] is honor. [1]  |

| 2 כַּצִּפּ֣וֹר לָ֭נוּד [3] Dechi  כַּדְּר֣וֹר לָע֑וּף [2] Etnachta *לא **ל֣וֹ תָבֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq  | 
2 Like a fluttering sparrow [3]  or a darting swallow; [2] doesn’t come to rest. [1]  |

| 3 שׁ֣וֹט לַ֭סּוּס [3] Dechi  מֶ֣תֶג לַחֲמ֑וֹר [2] Etnachta לְגֵ֣ו כְּסִילִֽים׃ [1] Silluq  | 
3 A whip for a horse, [3]  a bridle for a donkey; [2] for the back of fools. [1]  |

4 Do not answer a fool [3]  according to his folly; [2]  |

6 Like cutting off one's feet [3]  or drinking violence; [2] by the hand of a fool. [1]  |

7 Like the legs that hang limp [3]  from the lame; [2] in the mouth of fools. [1]  |

8 Like tying a stone [3]  into a sling; [2] honor. [1]  |

| 9 ח֭וֹחַ [3] Dechi  עָלָ֣ה בְיַד־שִׁכּ֑וֹר [2] Etnachta בְּפִ֣י כְסִילִֽים׃ [1] Silluq  | 
9 As a thorn bush [3]  goes into the hand of a drunkard; [2] in the mouth of fools. [1]  |

| 10 רַ֥ב מְחוֹלֵֽל־כֹּ֑ל [2] Etnachta  וְשֹׂכֵ֥ר עֹבְרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq  | 
10 Like an archer who wounds everyone; [2]  or hires those who pass by. [1]  |

| 11 כְּ֭כֶלֶב [3] Dechi  שָׁ֣ב עַל־קֵא֑וֹ [2] Etnachta שׁוֹנֶ֥ה בְאִוַּלְתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
11 Like a dog [3]  that returns to its vomit; [2] that repeats his folly. [1]  |

12 Do you see [3]  a person [3] wise in his own eyes? [2] than for him. [1]  |

| 13 אָמַ֣ר עָ֭צֵל [3] Dechi  שַׁ֣חַל בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ [2] Etnachta בֵּ֣ין הָרְחֹבֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq  | 
13 A sluggard says, [3]  “There's a lion on the road! [2] is in the streets!” [1]  |

| 14 הַ֭דֶּלֶת [3] Dechi  תִּסּ֣וֹב עַל־צִירָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta עַל־מִטָּתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
14 The door, [3]  it turns on its hinges; [2] on his bed. [1]  |

| 15 טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭דוֹ [3] Dechi  בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת [2] Etnachta לַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ אֶל־פִּֽיו׃ [1] Silluq  | 
15 A sluggard buries his hand [3]  in the dish; [2] to bring it back to his mouth. [1]  |

| 16 חָכָ֣ם עָצֵ֣ל [3] VDechi  בְּעֵינָ֑יו [2] Etnachta מְשִׁ֣יבֵי טָֽעַם׃ [1] Silluq  | 
16 A sluggard is wiser [3]  in his own eyes; [2] who answer with discretion. [1]  |

| 17 מַחֲזִ֥יק בְּאׇזְנֵי־כָ֑לֶב [2] Etnachta  עַל־רִ֥יב לֹּא־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
17 Like one who takes a dog by the ears; [2]  in a quarrel not his own. [1]  |

| 18 כְּֽ֭מִתְלַהְלֵהַּ [3] Dechi  הַיֹּרֶ֥ה זִקִּ֗ים [3/2] Revi'i חִצִּ֥ים וָמָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq  | 
18 Like a madman [3]  who shoots firebrands, [3/2] arrows and death, [1]  |

| 19 כֵּֽן־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi  רִמָּ֣ה אֶת־רֵעֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta הֲֽלֹא־מְשַׂחֵ֥ק אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq  | 
19 is a person [3]  who deceives his neighbor; [2] “I was only joking.” [1]  |

| 20 בְּאֶ֣פֶס עֵ֭צִים [3] Dechi  תִּכְבֶּה־אֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta יִשְׁתֹּ֥ק מָדֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq  | 
20 Without wood [3]  a fire goes out; [2] a quarrel dies down. [1]  |

| 21 פֶּחָ֣ם לְ֭גֶחָלִים [3] Dechi  וְעֵצִ֣ים לְאֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta לְחַרְחַר־רִֽיב׃ [1] Silluq פ  | 
21 As charcoal to hot embers [3]  and wood to fire; [2] to kindling strife. [1] ¶  |

| 22 דִּבְרֵ֣י נִ֭רְגָּן [3] Dechi  כְּמִֽתְלַהֲמִ֑ים [2] Etnachta יָרְד֥וּ חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ [1] Silluq  | 
22 The words of a whisperer [3]  are like tasty morsels; [2] they go down into the innermost parts. [1]  |

| 23 כֶּ֣סֶף סִ֭יגִים [3] Dechi  מְצֻפֶּ֣ה עַל־חָ֑רֶשׂ [2] Etnachta וְלֶב־רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq  | 
23 Like silver glaze [3]  overlaid on earthenware; [2] with an evil heart. [1]  |

| 24 בִּ֭שְׂפָתָו [3] Dechi  יִנָּכֵ֣ר שׂוֹנֵ֑א [2] Etnachta יָשִׁ֥ית מִרְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
24 With his lips, [3]  one who hates disguises himself; [2] he harbors deceit. [1]  |

| 25 כִּֽי־יְחַנֵּ֣ן ק֭וֹלוֹ [3] Dechi  אַל־תַּאֲמֶן־בּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
25 When he speaks graciously, [3]  don’t believe him; [2] are in his heart. [1]  |

| 26 תִּכַּסֶּ֣ה שִׂ֭נְאָה [3] Dechi  בְּמַשָּׁא֑וֹן [2] Etnachta בְקָהָֽל׃ [1] Silluq  | 
26 Hatred covers itself [3]  with deception; [2] in the assembly. [1]  |

| 27 כֹּֽרֶה־שַּׁ֭חַת [3] Dechi  בָּ֣הּ יִפּ֑וֹל [2] Etnachta אֵלָ֥יו תָּשֽׁוּב׃ [1] Silluq  | 
27 Whoever digs a pit, [3]  he shall fall into it; [2] to him it will return. [1]  |

| 28 לְֽשׁוֹן־שֶׁ֭קֶר [3] Dechi  יִשְׂנָ֣א דַכָּ֑יו [2] Etnachta יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה מִדְחֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
28 A lying tongue, [3]  it hates those it crushes; [2] it works ruin. [1]  |
