1 אַֽל־תִּ֭תְהַלֵּל [3] Dechi בְּי֣וֹם מָחָ֑ר [2] Etnachta מַה־יֵּ֥לֶד יֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Don't boast [3] about tomorrow; [2] what a day will bring forth. [1] |

2 יְהַלֶּלְךָ֣ זָ֣ר [3] VDechi וְלֹא־פִ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta וְאַל־שְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Let another praise you [3] and not your own mouth; [2] and not your own lips. [1] |

3 כֹּֽבֶד־אֶ֭בֶן [3] Dechi וְנֵ֣טֶל הַח֑וֹל [2] Etnachta כָּבֵ֥ד מִשְּׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
3 A stone is heavy, [3] and sand is a burden; [2] is heavier than both. [1] |

4 Wrath is cruel, [3] and anger is overwhelming; [2] before jealousy? [1] |

7 One who is satisfied [3] refuses honey; [2] every bitter thing is sweet. [1] |

8 Like a bird [3] which wanders from its nest; [2] who wanders from his own place. [1] |

9 Oil and perfume [3] gladden the heart; [2] from counsel of the soul. [1] |

10 Your friend and your father’s friend, [4] do not forsake, [3] do not go [3] in the day of your calamity; [2] than a distant brother. [1] |

11 Be wise O my son, [3] and make glad my heart; [2] an answer. [1] |

12 עָר֤וּם ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh רָאָ֣ה רָעָ֣ה [3] VDechi נִסְתָּ֑ר [2] Etnachta עָבְר֥וּ נֶעֱנָֽשׁוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 The prudent, [4] he sees danger, [3] he takes refuge; [2] they keep going, they pay the penalty. [1] |

13 Take his garment [3] when he puts up collateral for a stranger; [2] hold it in pledge. [1] |

14 One who blesses his neighbor [4] with a loud voice, [3] rising early in the morning; [2] it will be counted to him. [1] |

15 A continual dripping [3] on a day of steady rain; [2] are alike, [1] |

16 צֹפְנֶ֥יהָ צָפַן־ר֑וּחַ [2] Etnachta יִקְרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
16 to restrain her is to restrain the wind; [2] to grasp. [1] |

17 בַּרְזֶ֣ל בְּבַרְזֶ֣ל [3] VDechi יָ֑חַד [2] Etnachta יַ֣חַד פְּנֵֽי־רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
17 Iron, by iron [3] it is sharpened; [2] he sharpens the countenance of his friend. [1] |

18 Whoever tends a fig tree, [3] he shall eat its fruit; [2] he shall be honored. [1] |

19 As in water [3] the face is to the face; [2] is to the person. [1] |

20 שְׁא֣וֹל וַ֭אֲבַדֹּה [3] Dechi לֹ֣א תִשְׂבַּ֑עְנָה [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א תִשְׂבַּֽעְנָה׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Sheol and Abaddon, [3] they are never satisfied; [2] they are never satisfied. [1] |

21 מַצְרֵ֣ף לַ֭כֶּסֶף [3] Dechi וְכ֣וּר לַזָּהָ֑ב [2] Etnachta לְפִ֣י מַהֲלָלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
21 A crucible is for silver, [3] and a furnace is for gold; [2] is tried by the mouth of those who praise him. [1] |

22 אִ֥ם תִּכְתּֽוֹשׁ־אֶת־הָאֱוִ֨יל ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh בַּ֥מַּכְתֵּ֡שׁ [4] Pazer בְּת֣וֹךְ הָ֭רִיפוֹת [3] Dechi בַּעֱלִ֑י [2] Etnachta אִוַּלְתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
22 Even if you pound the foolish, [4] in a mortar [4] along with the grain, [3] with a pestle; [2] his foolishness. [1] ¶ |

23 Know well [3] the condition of your flock; [2] to the herds, [1] |

24 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א לְעוֹלָ֣ם [3] VDechi חֹ֑סֶן [2] Etnachta לְד֣וֹר *דור **וָדֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq |
24 for not forever [3] is wealth; [2] from generation to generation. [1] |

25 גָּלָ֣ה חָ֭צִיר [3] Dechi וְנִרְאָה־דֶ֑שֶׁא [2] Etnachta עִשְּׂב֥וֹת הָרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
25 The grass disappears [3] and fresh grass appears; [2] the vegetation of the hills. [1] |

26 כְּבָשִׂ֥ים לִלְבוּשֶׁ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta עַתּוּדִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
26 The lambs will provide your clothing; [2] the goats. [1] |
