a poem; [2]
 
1 How blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, [3/2]
whose sin is covered. [1]
2 אַ֥שְֽׁרֵי אָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
לֹ֤א יַחְשֹׁ֬ב יְהֹוָ֣ה ל֣וֹ [3] VDechi
עָוֺ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֖ין בְּרוּח֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
רְמִיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 2 How blessed is a man [3]
to whom the LORD doesn’t reckon [3]
iniquity; [2]
 
and in whose spirit there is no [2]
deceit. [1]
3 כִּֽי־הֶ֭חֱרַשְׁתִּי [3] Dechi
בָּל֣וּ עֲצָמָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝שַׁאֲגָתִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq

my bones wasted away; [2]
 
through my groaning [2]
all day long. [1]

יוֹמָ֣ם וָלַיְלָה֮ [3] Sinnor
 
תִּכְבַּ֥ד עָלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
יָ֫דֶ֥ךָ [2] Ole Veyored
 
נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ לְשַׁדִּ֑י [2] Etnachta
בְּחַרְבֹ֖נֵי קַ֣יִץ [2] VRevMug
סֶֽלָה׃ [1] Silluq

day and night [3]
 
it was heavy on me, [3]
your hand; [2]
 
my strength was sapped [2]
by the dry heat of summer. [2]

וַעֲ֘וֺנִ֤י לֹֽא־כִסִּ֗יתִי [3] Revi'i
 
אָמַ֗רְתִּי [3] Revi'i
אוֹדֶ֤ה עֲלֵ֣י פְ֭שָׁעַי [3] Dechi
לַיהֹוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַתָּ֨ה נָ֘שָׂ֤אתָ עֲוֺ֖ן חַטָּאתִ֣י [2] VRevMug
סֶֽלָה׃ [1] Silluq

and my iniquity I didn’t hide, [3]
 
I said, [3]
I will confess my transgressions [3]
to the LORD; [2]
 
and you, you forgave the guilt of my sin. [2]

יִתְפַּלֵּ֬ל כׇּל־חָסִ֨יד ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh

לְ֭שֵׁטֶף [3] Dechi
מַ֣יִם רַבִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
אֵ֝לָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יַגִּֽיעוּ׃ [1] Silluq

let all the faithful pray [4]
to you, [3]
in a time when (you) may be found; [2]
 
surely [3]
in a flood [3]
of many waters, [2]
 
to him [2]
they shall not reach. [1]

סֵ֥תֶר לִי֮ [3] Sinnor
מִצַּ֢ר תִּ֫צְּרֵ֥נִי [2] Ole Veyored
 
רׇנֵּ֥י פַלֵּ֑ט [2] Etnachta
תְּס֖וֹבְבֵ֣נִי [2] VRevMug
סֶֽלָה׃ [1] Silluq

are my hiding place, [3]
from distress you will preserve me; [2]
 
with shouts of deliverance [2]
you will surround me. [2]

בְּדֶֽרֶךְ־ז֥וּ תֵלֵ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
אִיעֲצָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יךָ [2] VRevMug
עֵינִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 8 I will instruct you [4]
and I will teach you, [3]
in the way which you will go; [2]
 
I will counsel, keeping on you [2]
my eye. [1]
9 אַל־תִּהְי֤וּ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
כְּס֥וּס כְּפֶרֶד֮ [3] Sinnor
אֵ֤ין הָ֫בִ֥ין [2] Ole Veyored
 
בְּמֶתֶג־וָרֶ֣סֶן עֶדְי֣וֹ [3] VDechi
לִבְל֑וֹם [2] Etnachta
 
בַּ֝֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
קְרֹ֣ב אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 3 2 9 Do not be [4]
like a horse, like a mule, [3]
which have no understanding; [2]
 
who by bit and bridle [3]
are controlled, [2]
 
or not [2]
(will they) come near to you. [1]
10 רַבִּ֥ים מַכְאוֹבִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
לָ֫רָשָׁ֥ע [2] Ole Veyored
 
וְהַבּוֹטֵ֥חַ בַּֽיהֹוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
חֶ֝֗סֶד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְסוֹבְבֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 10 Many sorrows [3]
come to the wicked; [2]
 
but the one who trusts in the LORD, [2]
lovingkindness, [2]
it shall surround him. [1]
11 שִׂמְח֬וּ בַיהֹוָ֣ה וְ֭גִילוּ [3] Dechi
צַדִּיקִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝הַרְנִ֗ינוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
פ		 2 3 2 11 Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, [3]
O righteous; [2]
 
and shout for joy [2]
all upright in heart! [1]
