רות 4 | Ruth 4 | |||
1 Now Boaz went up to the gate [3 3] and he sat down there, [2] of whom Boaz had spoken, [2] “Come over here, and sit down, [2] friend!” [1] and he sat down. [1] |
2 And Boaz took [4] ten men [3] of the elders of the city, [2] and he said, “Sit down here,” [1] |
3 And he said [3 3] to the near kinsman, [2] of the field [2] to Elimelech; [1] who has returned [2] from the country of Moab. [1] |
4 And I, I thought [4] I should tell you saying, [3] before those who sit here, [3] and before the elders of my people.’ [2] redeem it, [2] then tell me, [3] for there is no one except you [3] to redeem it, [2] am after you.” [1] “I will redeem it.” [1] |
5 Then Boaz said, [2] “On the day you acquire the field [2] from the hand of Naomi; [1] Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead [3] you will acquire, [2] on his inheritance.” [1] |
6 And the near kinsman said, [3] “I'm not able [3] to redeem it for myself, [2] my own inheritance. [1] my right of redemption, [2] to redeem it.” [1] |
7 Now this was the custom in former time in Israel [4] concerning redeeming and concerning exchanging, [3] to confirm all things: [2] his sandal, [2] and gave it to his neighbor; [1] in Israel. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 So the near kinsman said [3] to Boaz, [2] “Acquire it for yourself,” [1] his sandal. [1] |
9 And Boaz said to the elders [4] and to all the people, [3] today, [2] all that belonged to Elimelech, [2] all that belonged to Chilion [2] and to Mahlon; [1] of Naomi. [1] |
10 And also Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon [4] I acquire for myself as a wife, [3] on his inheritance, [2] from among his brothers [2] and from the gate of his place. [1] today.” [1] |
11 And they said, [4] all the people who were in the gate, [3] and the elders, [2] “We are witnesses. [1] who is about to come into your house [3] who built, the two of them, [3] the house of Israel, [2] and your name be known [2] in Bethlehem. [1] |
12 And may your household be [3] like the household of Perez, [2] to Judah; [1] which the LORD will give [3] to you [2] this.” [1] |
13 So Boaz took Ruth [3] and she became his wife, [2] to her; [1] to conceive, [2] and she bore a son. [1] |
14 And the women said [3] to Naomi, [2] has not left you without [3] a near kinsman [2] today; [1] in Israel. [1] |
15 And he shall be to you [3] one who restores life, [2] in your old age; [1] she has given birth to him, [2] is good to you [2] sons.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 And Naomi took the child [3 3] and she placed him on her bosom, [2] a nurse. [1] |
17 And the women, her neighbors, gave him a name [3] saying, [2] to Naomi.” [1] Obed. [2] the father of David. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
18 Now these [3 3] are the descendants of Perez: [2] to him was born Hezron, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 and Hezron, [3] to him was born Ram, [2] to him was born Amminadab, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 and Amminadab, [3] to him was born Nahshon, [2] to him was born Salmon, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 and Salmon, [3] to him was born Boaz, [2] to him was born Obed, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 and Obed, [3] to him was born Jesse, [2] to him was born David. [1] |
