1 In month [3 3] the eighth, [2] of Darius; [1] to Zechariah [3] son of Berechiah, [2] saying, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
2 “Angry was the LORD [3] with your fathers, [2] (with) anger. [1] |
3 Therefore tell them, [3] thus says he, [3] the LORD of Hosts, [2] says [2] the LORD of Hosts; [1] says he, [2] the LORD of Hosts. [1] |
4 Don’t you be like your fathers, [4] to whom the former prophets proclaimed [4] saying, [3] the LORD of Hosts, [2] from your evil ways, [2] which are evil,’ [1] and they didn't pay attention to me, [2] says the LORD. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 Your fathers, [2] where are they? [1] forever [2] do they live? [1] |
6 But [4] my words and my statutes [3] my servants the prophets, [2] your fathers? [1] the LORD of Hosts, [3] to do to us, [2] and according to our deeds, [2] he has done with us.’ ” [1] ¶ |
7 On day twenty and four [4] of month one and ten, [3 3] which was the month of Shebat, [2] of Darius; [1] to Zechariah [3] the son of Berechiah, [2] saying, [1] |
8 “I saw [4] (in) the night, [3] riding [3] on a red horse, [2] among the myrtle trees [2] that were in a ravine; [1] were red horses, [2] and white. [1] |
9 And I asked, [2] ‘What are these O my lord?’ ” [1] the angel [3] who was speaking with me, [2] what these are.” [1] |
10 And he answered, [3] the man [3] who was standing among the myrtle trees, [2] and he said; [1] are the ones the LORD has sent [2] on the earth.” [1] |
11 And they spoke to [4] the angel of the LORD [3] among the myrtle trees, [2] “We have gone about on the earth; [1] is dwelling at peace.” [1] |
12 And the angel of the LORD replied [3] and he said, [2] will you [3] not have mercy on Jerusalem [2] the cities of Judah; [1] these [2] seventy years?” [1] |
13 And the LORD answered [3] the angel [3] who was speaking with me, [2] with good words; [1] of comfort. [1] |
14 So he said to me, [3] the angel [3] who was speaking with me, [2] ‘Thus says he, [2] the LORD of Hosts; [1] and for Zion, [2] with great jealousy. [1] |
15 And with great anger [3] I am angry [2] which are at ease; [1] I was a little angry, [2] they have furthered the disaster.” [1] |
16 Therefore [4] thus says the LORD, [3] with compassion. [2] it shall be rebuilt in it,” [2] the LORD of Hosts; [1] over Jerusalem.” ’ [1] |
17 “Again [4] proclaim saying, [3] the LORD of Hosts, [2] my cities will overflow [2] with prosperity; [1] Zion, [2] Jerusalem.” ’ ” [1] ¶ |
