הָיָ֣ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
אֶל־זְכַרְיָה֙ [3] Pashta
בֶּן־בֶּ֣רֶכְיָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
בֶּן־עִדּ֥וֹ הַנָּבִ֖יא [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq

2 קָצַ֧ף יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
עַל־אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
קָֽצֶף׃ [1] Silluq

with your fathers, [2]
(with) anger. [1]
3 וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ [3] Pashta
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
שׁ֣וּבוּ אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
נְאֻ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְאָשׁ֣וּב אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אָמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

‘Return to me, [2]
says [2]
the LORD of Hosts; [1]
 
and I will return to you,’ [2]

4 אַל־תִּהְי֣וּ כַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֡ם [4] Pazer
אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָרְאֽוּ־אֲלֵיהֶם֩ הַנְּבִיאִ֨ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֜ים [4] Geresh
לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ [3] Pashta
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
שׁ֤וּבוּ נָא֙ [3] Pashta
מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֣ם הָרָעִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
*ומעליליכם **וּמַֽעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הָֽרָעִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֛וּ [3] Tevir
וְלֹֽא־הִקְשִׁ֥יבוּ אֵלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to whom the former prophets proclaimed [4]

thus says he, [3]
the LORD of Hosts, [2]
 
‘Turn back now [3]
from your evil ways, [2]
 
and your deeds [2]
which are evil,’ [1]
 
but they didn’t listen [3]
and they didn't pay attention to me, [2]
says the LORD. [1]
5 אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אַיֵּה־הֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַ֨נְּבִאִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
הַלְעוֹלָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יִֽחְיֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq

where are they? [1]
 
And the prophets, [2]
forever [2]
do they live? [1]
6 אַ֣ךְ ׀ [4] Legarmeh
דְּבָרַ֣י וְחֻקַּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוִּ֙יתִי֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶת־עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
הֲל֥וֹא הִשִּׂ֖יגוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ [3] Revi'i
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר זָמַ֜ם [4] Geresh
יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּדְרָכֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וּכְמַ֣עֲלָלֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
כֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
עָשָׂ֥ה אִתָּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

my servants the prophets, [2]
 
did they not overtake [2]
your fathers? [1]
 
Then they repented and they said, [3]
 
‘Just as he determined, [4]
the LORD of Hosts, [3]
to do to us, [2]
 
according to our ways [3 3]
and according to our deeds, [2]
 
so [2]
he has done with us.’ ” [1]

לְעַשְׁתֵּֽי־עָשָׂ֥ר חֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ [3 3] Pashta
הוּא־חֹ֣דֶשׁ שְׁבָ֔ט [2] Zaqef

עַל־ס֣וּס אָדֹ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְה֣וּא עֹמֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
בֵּ֥ין הַהֲדַסִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמְּצֻלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַחֲרָיו֙ [3] Pashta
סוּסִ֣ים אֲדֻמִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
שְׂרֻקִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וּלְבָנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and behold a man [3]
riding [3]
on a red horse, [2]
 
and he was standing [2]
among the myrtle trees [2]
that were in a ravine; [1]
 
and behind him [3]
were red horses, [2]
 
brown, [2]
and white. [1]
9 וָאֹמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
מָה־אֵ֣לֶּה אֲדֹנִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
הַמַּלְאָךְ֙ [3] Pashta
הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
אֲנִ֥י אַרְאֶ֖ךָּ [2] Tip'cha
מָה־הֵ֥מָּה אֵֽלֶּה׃ [1] Silluq

‘What are these O my lord?’ ” [1]
 
And he said to me, [3]
the angel [3]
who was speaking with me, [2]
 
“I, I will show you [2]
what these are.” [1]
10 וַיַּ֗עַן [3] Revi'i
הָאִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
הָעֹמֵ֥ד בֵּין־הַהֲדַסִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
אֵ֚לֶּה [3] Yetiv
אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁלַ֣ח יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לְהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

the man [3]
who was standing among the myrtle trees, [2]
and he said; [1]
 
“These [3]
are the ones the LORD has sent [2]
 
to go about [2]
on the earth.” [1]
11 וַֽיַּעֲנ֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אֶת־מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
הָֽעֹמֵד֙ [3] Pashta
בֵּ֣ין הַהֲדַסִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
הִתְהַלַּ֣כְנוּ בָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֥ה כׇל־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
יֹשֶׁ֥בֶת וְשֹׁקָֽטֶת׃ [1] Silluq

the angel of the LORD [3]
 
who was standing [3]
among the myrtle trees, [2]
 
and they said, [2]
“We have gone about on the earth; [1]
 
and behold, all the earth [2]
is dwelling at peace.” [1]
12 וַיַּ֣עַן מַלְאַךְ־יְהֹוָה֮ [3] Zarqa
וַיֹּאמַר֒ [2] Segol
 
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־מָתַ֗י [3] Revi'i
אַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
לֹֽא־תְרַחֵ֣ם אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֣ר זָעַ֔מְתָּה [2] Zaqef
זֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שִׁבְעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and he said, [2]
 
“O LORD of Hosts, [2]
 
how long [3]
will you [3]
not have mercy on Jerusalem [2]
 
and [2]
the cities of Judah; [1]
 
against which you have been indignant [2]
these [2]
seventy years?” [1]
13 וַיַּ֣עַן יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
אֶת־הַמַּלְאָ֛ךְ [3] Tevir
הַדֹּבֵ֥ר בִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
דְּבָרִ֣ים טוֹבִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
דְּבָרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
נִחֻמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

the angel [3]
who was speaking with me, [2]
with good words; [1]

of comfort. [1]
14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
הַמַּלְאָךְ֙ [3] Pashta
הַדֹּבֵ֣ר בִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
קְרָ֣א לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
קִנֵּ֧אתִי לִירוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם [3] Tevir
וּלְצִיּ֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
קִנְאָ֥ה גְדוֹלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the angel [3]
who was speaking with me, [2]
 
“Proclaim saying, [2]
‘Thus says he, [2]
the LORD of Hosts; [1]
 
“I am jealous for Jerusalem [3]
and for Zion, [2]
with great jealousy. [1]
15 וְקֶ֤צֶף גָּדוֹל֙ [3] Pashta
אֲנִ֣י קֹצֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַשַּֽׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֲנִי֙ [3] Pashta
קָצַ֣פְתִּי מְּעָ֔ט [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֵ֖מָּה [2] Tip'cha
עָזְר֥וּ לְרָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

I am angry [2]
 
toward the nations [2]
which are at ease; [1]
 
for I, [3]
I was a little angry, [2]
 
but they, [2]
they have furthered the disaster.” [1]

שַׁ֤בְתִּי לִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּֽרַחֲמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
בֵּיתִי֙ [3] Pashta
יִבָּ֣נֶה בָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
נְאֻ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
*וקוה **וְקָ֥ו יִנָּטֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq

“I have returned to Jerusalem [3 3]
with compassion. [2]
 
My house, [3]
it shall be rebuilt in it,” [2]
 
says [2]
the LORD of Hosts; [1]
 
“and a measuring line will be stretched out [2]
over Jerusalem.” ’ [1]

יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
ע֛וֹד [3] Tevir
תְּפוּצֶ֥נָה עָרַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מִטּ֑וֹב [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִחַ֨ם יְהֹוָ֥ה עוֹד֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־צִיּ֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וּבָחַ֥ר ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq
