1 נָֽקְטָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֗י [3] Revi'i
בְּחַ֫יָּ֥י [2] Ole Veyored
 
אֶֽעֶזְבָ֣ה עָלַ֣י [3] VDechi
שִׂיחִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
אֲ֝דַבְּרָה֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּמַ֣ר נַפְשִֽׁי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 1 “My soul is weary of my life. I will give free course to my complaint. I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. [3]
2 אֹמַ֣ר אֶל־אֱ֭לוֹהַּ [3] Dechi
אַל־תַּרְשִׁיעֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
הֽ֝וֹדִיעֵ֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַ֣ל מַה־תְּרִיבֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 I will tell God, ‘Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me. [3]
3 הֲט֤וֹב לְךָ֨ ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
כִּֽי־תַעֲשֹׁ֗ק [3] Revi'i
 
כִּֽי־תִ֭מְאַס [3] Dechi
יְגִ֣יעַ כַּפֶּ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־עֲצַ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
הוֹפָֽעְתָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 3 Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile on the counsel of the wicked? [4]
4 הַעֵינֵ֣י בָשָׂ֣ר [3] VDechi
לָ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־כִּרְא֖וֹת אֱנ֣וֹשׁ [2] VRevMug
תִּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Do you have eyes of flesh? Or do you see as man sees? [3]
5 הֲכִימֵ֣י אֱנ֣וֹשׁ [3] VDechi
יָמֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־שְׁ֝נוֹתֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣ימֵי גָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Are your days as the days of mortals, or your years as man’s years, [3]
6 כִּֽי־תְבַקֵּ֥שׁ לַעֲוֺנִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֭לְחַטָּאתִ֥י [3/2] Dechi
תִדְרֽוֹשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 6 that you inquire after my iniquity, and search after my sin? [2]
 
7 עַֽל־דַּ֭עְתְּךָ [3] Dechi
כִּי־לֹ֣א אֶרְשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֖ין מִיָּדְךָ֣ [2] VRevMug
מַצִּֽיל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Although you know that I am not wicked, there is no one who can deliver out of your hand. [3]
8 יָדֶ֣יךָ עִ֭צְּבוּנִי [3] Dechi
וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֑וּנִי [2] Etnachta
 
יַ֥חַד סָ֝בִ֗יב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַֽתְּבַלְּעֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 “ ‘Your hands have framed me and fashioned me altogether, yet you destroy me. [3]
9 זְכָר־נָ֭א [3] Dechi
כִּי־כַחֹ֣מֶר עֲשִׂיתָ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽאֶל־עָפָ֥ר תְּשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 9 Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again? [3]
10 הֲלֹ֣א כֶ֭חָלָב [3] Dechi
תַּתִּיכֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝כַגְּבִנָּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּקְפִּיאֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Haven’t you poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese? [3]
11 ע֣וֹר וּ֭בָשָׂר [3] Dechi
תַּלְבִּישֵׁ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וּֽבַעֲצָמ֥וֹת וְ֝גִידִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תְּסֹכְכֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 You have clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. [3]
12 חַיִּ֣ים וָ֭חֶסֶד [3] Dechi
עָשִׂ֣יתָ עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝פְקֻדָּתְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שָֽׁמְרָ֥ה רוּחִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 You have granted me life and loving kindness. Your visitation has preserved my spirit. [3]
13 וְ֭אֵלֶּה [3] Dechi
צָפַ֣נְתָּ בִלְבָבֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־זֹ֥את עִמָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Yet you hid these things in your heart. I know that this is with you: [3]
14 אִם־חָטָ֥אתִי וּשְׁמַרְתָּ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֵעֲוֺנִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תְנַקֵּֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 14 if I sin, then you mark me. You will not acquit me from my iniquity. [2]
 
15 אִם־רָשַׁ֡עְתִּי [4] Pazer
אַלְלַ֬י לִ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
וְ֭צָדַקְתִּי [3] Dechi
לֹא־אֶשָּׂ֣א רֹאשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
שְׂבַ֥ע קָ֝ל֗וֹן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּרְאֵ֥ה עָנְיִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 15 If I am wicked, woe to me. If I am righteous, I still will not lift up my head, being filled with disgrace, and conscious of my affliction. [4]
16 וְ֭יִגְאֶה [3] Dechi
כַּשַּׁ֣חַל תְּצוּדֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תָשֹׁ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּתְפַּלָּא־בִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me. [3]
17 תְּחַדֵּ֬שׁ עֵדֶ֨יךָ ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
נֶגְדִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
וְתֶ֣רֶב כַּֽ֭עַשְׂךָ [3] Dechi
עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
חֲלִיפ֖וֹת וְצָבָ֣א [2] VRevMug
עִמִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 17 You renew your witnesses against me, and increase your indignation on me. Changes and warfare are with me. [4]
18 וְלָ֣מָּה מֵ֭רֶחֶם [3] Dechi
הֹצֵאתָ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
אֶ֝גְוַ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְעַ֣יִן לֹא־תִרְאֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 “ ‘Why, then, have you brought me out of the womb? I wish I had given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me. [3]
19 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־הָיִ֣יתִי [3] VDechi
אֶהְיֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝בֶּ֗טֶן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לַקֶּ֥בֶר אוּבָֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 I should have been as though I had not been. I should have been carried from the womb to the grave. [3]
20 הֲלֹא־מְעַ֣ט יָמַ֣י [3] VDechi
*יחדל **וַחֲדָ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
*ישית **וְשִׁ֥ית מִ֝מֶּ֗נִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְאַבְלִ֥יגָה מְּעָֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Aren’t my days few? Stop! Leave me alone, that I may find a little comfort, [3]
21 בְּטֶ֣רֶם אֵ֭לֵךְ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א אָשׁ֑וּב [2] Etnachta
 
אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ חֹ֣שֶׁךְ [2] VRevMug
וְצַלְמָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 before I go where I will not return from, to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death, [3]
22 אֶ֤רֶץ עֵיפָ֨תָה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
כְּמ֥וֹ אֹ֗פֶל [3] Revi'i
 
צַ֭לְמָוֶת [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֥א סְדָרִ֗ים [3/2] Revi'i
 
וַתֹּ֥פַע כְּמוֹ־אֹֽפֶל׃ [1] Silluq
