1 וַ֭יַּעַן [3] Dechi
אֱלִיפַ֥ז הַֽתֵּמָנִ֗י [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, [3]
2 הַלְאֵ֥ל יִסְכָּן־גָּ֑בֶר [2] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־יִסְכֹּ֖ן עָלֵ֣ימוֹ [2] VRevMug
מַשְׂכִּֽיל׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 2 “Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself. [2]
 
3 הַחֵ֣פֶץ לְ֭שַׁדַּי [3] Dechi
כִּ֣י תִצְדָּ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־בֶּ֝֗צַע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּֽי־תַתֵּ֥ם דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him that you make your ways perfect? [3]
4 הֲ‌ֽ֭מִיִּרְאָ֣תְךָ [3] Dechi
יֹכִיחֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
יָב֥וֹא עִ֝מְּךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment? [3]
5 הֲלֹ֣א רָעָֽתְךָ֣ [3] VDechi
רַבָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֵֽין־קֵ֝֗ץ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לַעֲוֺנֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Isn’t your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities. [3]
6 כִּֽי־תַחְבֹּ֣ל אַחֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
חִנָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּבִגְדֵ֖י עֲרוּמִּ֣ים [2] VRevMug
תַּפְשִֽׁיט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing. [3]
7 לֹא־מַ֭יִם [3] Dechi
עָיֵ֣ף תַּשְׁקֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֵרָעֵ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּֽמְנַֽע־לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry. [3]
8 וְאִ֣ישׁ זְ֭רוֹעַ [3] Dechi
ל֣וֹ הָאָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
וּנְשׂ֥וּא פָ֝נִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יֵ֣שֶׁב בָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it. [3]
9 אַ֭לְמָנוֹת [3] Dechi
שִׁלַּ֣חְתָּ רֵיקָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּזְרֹע֖וֹת יְתֹמִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יְדֻכָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. [3]
10 עַל־כֵּ֭ן [3] Dechi
סְבִיבוֹתֶ֣יךָ פַחִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וִֽ֝יבַהֶלְךָ [2] Geresh
פַּ֣חַד פִּתְאֹֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you, [3]
11 אוֹ־חֹ֥שֶׁךְ לֹֽא־תִרְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽשִׁפְעַת־מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 11 or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you. [2]
 
12 הֲ‍ֽלֹא־אֱ֭לוֹהַּ [3] Dechi
גֹּ֣בַהּ שָׁמָ֑יִם [2] Etnachta
 
וּרְאֵ֤ה רֹ֖אשׁ [3] VDechi~
כּוֹכָבִ֣ים [2] VRevMug~
כִּי־רָֽמּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 12 “Isn’t God [3]
in the heights of heaven? [2]
 
Look at the height [3]
of the stars, [2]
how high they are! [1]
13 וְֽ֭אָמַרְתָּ [3] Dechi
מַה־יָּ֣דַֽע אֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
הַבְעַ֖ד עֲרָפֶ֣ל [2] VRevMug
יִשְׁפּֽוֹט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? [3]
14 עָבִ֣ים סֵֽתֶר־ל֭וֹ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יִרְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְח֥וּג שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְהַלָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’ [3]
15 הַאֹ֣רַח עוֹלָ֣ם [3] VDechi
תִּשְׁמֹ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר דָּרְכ֣וּ [2] VRevMug
מְתֵי־אָֽוֶן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden, [3]
16 אֲשֶֽׁר־קֻמְּט֥וּ וְלֹא־עֵ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
נָ֝הָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יוּצַ֥ק יְסוֹדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 16 who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream, [2]
 
17 הָאֹמְרִ֣ים לָ֭אֵל [3] Dechi
ס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַה־יִּפְעַ֖ל שַׁדַּ֣י [2] VRevMug
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 who said to God, ‘Depart from us,’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’ [3]
18 וְה֤וּא מִלֵּ֣א בָתֵּיהֶ֣ם [3] VDechi
ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וַעֲצַ֥ת רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רָ֣חֲקָה מֶֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. [3]
19 יִרְא֣וּ צַדִּיקִ֣ים [3] VDechi
וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝נָקִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִלְעַג־לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them, [3]
20 אִם־לֹ֣א נִכְחַ֣ד [3] VDechi
קִימָ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִתְרָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָ֣כְלָה אֵֽשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’ [3]
21 הַסְכֶּן־נָ֣א עִמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וּשְׁלם בָּ֝הֶ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תְּֽבוֹאַתְךָ֥ טוֹבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 21 “Acquaint yourself with him, now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you. [2]
 
22 קַח־נָ֣א מִפִּ֣יו [3] VDechi
תּוֹרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְשִׂ֥ים אֲ֝מָרָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בִּלְבָבֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart. [3]
23 אִם־תָּשׁ֣וּב עַד־שַׁ֭דַּי [3] Dechi
תִּבָּנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
תַּרְחִ֥יק עַ֝וְלָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאָהֳלֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents. [3]
24 וְשִׁית־עַל־עָפָ֥ר בָּ֑צֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְצ֖וּר נְחָלִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
אוֹפִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 24 Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. [2]
 
25 וְהָיָ֣ה שַׁדַּ֣י [3] VDechi
בְּצָרֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְכֶ֖סֶף תּוֹעָפ֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you. [3]
26 כִּי־אָ֭ז [3] Dechi
עַל־שַׁדַּ֣י תִּתְעַנָּ֑ג [2] Etnachta
 
וְתִשָּׂ֖א אֶל־אֱל֣וֹהַּ [2] VRevMug
פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God. [3]
27 תַּעְתִּ֣יר אֵ֭לָיו [3] Dechi
וְיִשְׁמָעֶ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּנְדָרֶ֥יךָ תְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 27 You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows. [3]
28 וְֽתִגְזַר־א֭וֹמֶר [3] Dechi
וְיָ֣קָם לָ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־דְּ֝רָכֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נָ֣גַֽהּ אֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways. [3]
29 כִּֽי־הִ֭שְׁפִּילוּ [3] Dechi
וַתֹּ֣אמֶר גֵּוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְשַׁ֖ח עֵינַ֣יִם [2] VRevMug
יוֹשִֽׁעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 When they cast down, you will say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person. [3]
30 יְֽמַלֵּ֥ט אִֽי־נָקִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝נִמְלַ֗ט [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּבֹ֣ר כַּפֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

2 2 30 He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.” ¶ [2]
