1 כִּ֤י יֵ֣שׁ לַכֶּ֣סֶף [3] VDechi מוֹצָ֑א [2] Etnachta לַזָּהָ֥ב יָזֹֽקּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 “Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine. [3] |

2 בַּ֭רְזֶל [3] Dechi מֵעָפָ֣ר יֻקָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta יָצ֥וּק נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore. [3] |

3 קֵ֤ץ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh שָׂ֤ם לַחֹ֗שֶׁךְ [3] Revi'i ה֣וּא חוֹקֵ֑ר [2] Etnachta וְצַלְמָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq |
3 Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness. [4] |

4 פָּ֤רַץ נַ֨חַל ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh מֵֽעִם־גָּ֗ר [3] Revi'i הַֽנִּשְׁכָּחִ֥ים מִנִּי־רָ֑גֶל [2] Etnachta נָֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth. [4] |

5 As for the earth, out of it comes bread. Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire. [3] |

6 מְקוֹם־סַפִּ֥יר אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold. [2] |

7 נָ֭תִיב [3] Dechi לֹֽא־יְדָ֣עוֹ עָ֑יִט [2] Etnachta עֵ֣ין אַיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
7 That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon’s eye seen it. [3] |

8 לֹֽא־הִדְרִיכֻ֥הוּ בְנֵי־שָׁ֑חַץ [2] Etnachta שָֽׁחַל׃ [1] Silluq |
8 The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there. [2] |

9 בַּֽ֭חַלָּמִישׁ [3] Dechi שָׁלַ֣ח יָד֑וֹ [2] Etnachta הָרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
9 He puts his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots. [3] |

10 בַּ֭צּוּרוֹת [3] Dechi יְאֹרִ֣ים בִּקֵּ֑עַ [2] Etnachta רָאֲתָ֥ה עֵינֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing. [3] |

11 מִ֭בְּכִי [3] Dechi נְהָר֣וֹת חִבֵּ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta יֹ֣צִא אֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq פ |
11 He binds the streams that they don’t trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings out to light. [3] |

12 וְֽ֭הַחָכְמָה [3] Dechi מֵאַ֣יִן תִּמָּצֵ֑א [2] Etnachta מְק֣וֹם בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
12 “But where will wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding? [3] |

13 לֹא־יָדַ֣ע אֱנ֣וֹשׁ [3] VDechi עֶרְכָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
13 Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living. [3] |

14 תְּה֣וֹם אָ֭מַר [3] Dechi לֹ֣א בִי־הִ֑יא [2] Etnachta אֵ֣ין עִמָּדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
14 The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’ [3] |

15 לֹא־יֻתַּ֣ן סְג֣וֹר [3] VDechi תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta כֶּ֣סֶף מְחִירָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price. [3] |

16 לֹֽא־תְ֭סֻלֶּה [3] Dechi בְּכֶ֣תֶם אוֹפִ֑יר [2] Etnachta וְסַפִּֽיר׃ [1] Silluq |
16 It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. [3] |

17 לֹא־יַעַרְכֶ֣נָּה זָ֭הָב [3] Dechi וּזְכוֹכִ֑ית [2] Etnachta כְּלִי־פָֽז׃ [1] Silluq |
17 Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. [3] |

18 רָאמ֣וֹת וְ֭גָבִישׁ [3] Dechi לֹ֣א יִזָּכֵ֑ר [2] Etnachta מִפְּנִינִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies. [3] |

19 לֹֽא־יַ֭עַרְכֶנָּה [3] Dechi פִּטְדַת־כּ֑וּשׁ [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א תְסֻלֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq פ |
19 The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it, nor will it be valued with pure gold. [3] |

20 וְֽ֭הַחָכְמָה [3] Dechi מֵאַ֣יִן תָּב֑וֹא [2] Etnachta מְק֣וֹם בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding? [3] |

21 וְֽ֭נֶעֶלְמָה [3] Dechi מֵעֵינֵ֣י כָל־חָ֑י [2] Etnachta נִסְתָּֽרָה׃ [1] Silluq |
21 Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky. [3] |

22 אֲבַדּ֣וֹן וָ֭מָוֶת [3] Dechi אָ֣מְר֑וּ [2] Etnachta שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ שִׁמְעָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’ [3] |

23 אֱ֭לֹהִים [3] Dechi הֵבִ֣ין דַּרְכָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta יָדַ֥ע אֶת־מְקוֹמָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 “God understands its way, and he knows its place. [3] |

24 כִּי־ה֭וּא [3] Dechi לִקְצוֹת־הָאָ֣רֶץ יַבִּ֑יט [2] Etnachta יִרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
24 For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky. [3] |

25 לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָר֣וּחַ [3] VDechi מִשְׁקָ֑ל [2] Etnachta תִּכֵּ֥ן בְּמִדָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
25 He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure. [3] |

26 בַּעֲשֹׂת֣וֹ לַמָּטָ֣ר [3] VDechi חֹ֑ק [2] Etnachta לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder, [3] |

27 אָ֣ז רָ֭אָהּ [3] Dechi וַֽיְסַפְּרָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta וְגַם־חֲקָרָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
27 then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out. [3] |

28 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh לָֽאָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i הִ֣יא חָכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq ס |
28 To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’ ” ¶ [4] |
