1 וְעַתָּ֤ה ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
שָֽׂחֲק֣וּ עָלַי֮ [3] Sinnor
 
צְעִירִ֥ים מִמֶּ֗נִּי [3] Revi'i
לְיָ֫מִ֥ים [2] Ole Veyored
 
אֲשֶׁר־מָאַ֥סְתִּי אֲבוֹתָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
לָ֝שִׁ֗ית [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עִם־כַּלְבֵ֥י צֹאנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 2 1 “But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I considered unworthy to put with my sheep dogs. [4]
2 גַּם־כֹּ֣חַ יְ֭דֵיהֶם [3] Dechi
לָ֣מָּה לִּ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָ֣בַד כָּֽלַח׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, men in whom ripe age has perished? [3]
3 בְּחֶ֥סֶר וּבְכָפָ֗ן [3] Revi'i
גַּ֫לְמ֥וּד [2] Ole Veyored
 
הַֽעֹרְקִ֥ים צִיָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
אֶ֝֗מֶשׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שׁוֹאָ֥ה וּמְשֹׁאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 3 They are gaunt from lack and famine. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of waste and desolation. [3]
4 הַקֹּטְפִ֣ים מַלּ֣וּחַ [3] VDechi
עֲלֵי־שִׂ֑יחַ [2] Etnachta
 
וְשֹׁ֖רֶשׁ רְתָמִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
לַחְמָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 They pluck salt herbs by the bushes. The roots of the broom tree are their food. [3]
5 מִן־גֵּ֥ו יְגֹרָ֑שׁוּ [2] Etnachta
 
יָרִ֥יעוּ עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כַּגַּנָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 5 They are driven out from among men. They cry after them as after a thief, [2]
 
6 בַּעֲר֣וּץ נְחָלִ֣ים [3] VDechi
לִשְׁכֹּ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
חֹרֵ֖י עָפָ֣ר [2] VRevMug
וְכֵפִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 So that they dwell in frightful valleys, and in holes of the earth and of the rocks. [3]
7 בֵּין־שִׂיחִ֥ים יִנְהָ֑קוּ [2] Etnachta
 
תַּ֖חַת חָר֣וּל [2] VRevMug
יְסֻפָּֽחוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 7 They bray among the bushes. They are gathered together under the nettles. [2]
 
8 בְּֽנֵי־נָ֭בָל [3] Dechi
גַּם־בְּנֵ֣י בְלִי־שֵׁ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
נִ֝כְּא֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 They are children of fools, yes, children of wicked men. They were flogged out of the land. [3]
9 וְ֭עַתָּה [3] Dechi
נְגִינָתָ֣ם הָיִ֑יתִי [2] Etnachta
 
וָאֱהִ֖י לָהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
לְמִלָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 “Now I have become their song. Yes, I am a byword to them. [3]
10 תִּֽ֭עֲבוּנִי [3] Dechi
רָ֣חֲקוּ מֶ֑נִּי [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־חָ֥שְׂכוּ רֹֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, and don’t hesitate to spit in my face. [3]
11 כִּֽי־*יתרו **יִתְרִ֣י פִ֭תַּח [3] Dechi
וַיְעַנֵּ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רֶ֗סֶן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִפָּנַ֥י שִׁלֵּֽחוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 For he has untied his cord, and afflicted me; and they have thrown off restraint before me. [3]
12 עַל־יָמִין֮ [3] Sinnor
פִּרְחַ֪ח יָ֫ק֥וּמוּ [2] Ole Veyored
 
רַגְלַ֥י שִׁלֵּ֑חוּ [2] Etnachta
וַיָּסֹ֥לּוּ עָ֝לַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָרְח֥וֹת אֵידָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 12 On my right hand rise the rabble. They thrust aside my feet, They cast up against me their ways of destruction. [3]
13 נָתְס֗וּ [3] Revi'i
נְֽתִיבָ֫תִ֥י [2] Ole Veyored
 
לְהַוָּתִ֥י יֹעִ֑ילוּ [2] Etnachta
לֹ֖א עֹזֵ֣ר [2] VRevMug
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 13 They mar my path. They promote my destruction without anyone’s help. [3]
14 כְּפֶ֣רֶץ רָחָ֣ב [3] VDechi
יֶאֱתָ֑יוּ [2] Etnachta
 
תַּ֥חַת שֹׁ֝אָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הִתְגַּלְגָּֽלוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 As through a wide breach they come. They roll themselves in amid the ruin. [3]
15 הָהְפַּ֥ךְ עָלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
בַּלָּ֫ה֥וֹת [2] Ole Veyored
 
תִּרְדֹּ֣ף כָּ֭רוּחַ [3] Dechi
נְדִבָתִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝כְעָ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עָבְרָ֥ה יְשֻׁעָתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 15 Terrors have turned on me. They chase my honor as the wind. My welfare has passed away as a cloud. [3]
16 וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
עָ֭לַי [3] Dechi
תִּשְׁתַּפֵּ֣ךְ נַפְשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
יֹ֖אחֲז֣וּנִי [2] VRevMug
יְמֵי־עֹֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 16 “And now, [3]
within me [3]
my soul is poured out; [2]
 
they have taken hold of me, [2]
days of affliction. [1]
17 לַ֗יְלָה [3] Revi'i
עֲ֭צָמַי [3] Dechi
נִקַּ֣ר מֵעָלָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עֹרְקַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִשְׁכָּבֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 17 In the night season my bones are pierced in me, and the pains that gnaw me take no rest. [3]
18 בְּרָב־כֹּ֭חַ [3] Dechi
יִתְחַפֵּ֣שׂ לְבוּשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
כְּפִ֖י כֻתָּנְתִּ֣י [2] VRevMug
יַֽאַזְרֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 My garment is disfigured by great force. It binds me about as the collar of my tunic. [3]
19 הֹרָ֥נִי לַחֹ֑מֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וָ֝אֶתְמַשֵּׁ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כֶּעָפָ֥ר וָאֵֽפֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 19 He has cast me into the mire. I have become like dust and ashes. [2]
 
20 אֲשַׁוַּ֣ע אֵ֭לֶיךָ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א תַעֲנֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
עָ֝מַ֗דְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַתִּתְבֹּ֥נֶן בִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me. [3]
21 תֵּהָפֵ֣ךְ לְאַכְזָ֣ר [3] VDechi
לִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
בְּעֹ֖צֶם יָדְךָ֣ [2] VRevMug
תִשְׂטְמֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 You have turned to be cruel to me. With the might of your hand you persecute me. [3]
22 תִּשָּׂאֵ֣נִי אֶל־ר֭וּחַ [3] Dechi
תַּרְכִּיבֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝תְמֹגְגֵ֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
*תשוה **תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 You lift me up to the wind, and drive me with it. You dissolve me in the storm. [3]
23 כִּֽי־יָ֭דַעְתִּי [3] Dechi
מָ֣וֶת תְּשִׁיבֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וּבֵ֖ית מוֹעֵ֣ד [2] VRevMug
לְכָל־חָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 For I know that you will bring me to death, To the house appointed for all living. [3]
24 אַ֣ךְ לֹא־בְ֭עִי [3] Dechi
יִשְׁלַח־יָ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־בְּ֝פִיד֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָהֶ֥ן שֽׁוּעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 “However doesn’t one stretch out a hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help? [3]
25 אִם־לֹ֣א בָ֭כִיתִי [3] Dechi
לִקְשֵׁה־י֑וֹם [2] Etnachta
 
עָֽגְמָ֥ה נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָאֶבְיֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Didn’t I weep for him who was in trouble? Wasn’t my soul grieved for the needy? [3]
26 כִּ֤י ט֣וֹב קִ֭וִּיתִי [3] Dechi
וַיָּ֣בֹא רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וַֽאֲיַחֲלָ֥ה לְ֝א֗וֹר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַיָּ֥בֹא אֹֽפֶל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 When I looked for good, then evil came. When I waited for light, darkness came. [3]
27 מֵעַ֖י רֻתְּח֥וּ וְלֹא־דָ֗מּוּ [3/2] Revi'i
קִדְּמֻ֥נִי יְמֵי־עֹֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 27 My heart is troubled, and doesn’t rest. Days of affliction have come on me. [3/2]
28 קֹדֵ֣ר הִ֭לַּכְתִּי [3] Dechi
בְּלֹ֣א חַמָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
קַ֖מְתִּי בַקָּהָ֣ל [2] VRevMug
אֲשַׁוֵּֽעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 I go mourning without the sun. I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help. [3]
29 אָ֭ח [3] Dechi
הָיִ֣יתִי לְתַנִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רֵ֗עַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִבְנ֥וֹת יַעֲנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 I am a brother to jackals, and a companion to ostriches. [3]
30 ע֭וֹרִי [3] Dechi
שָׁחַ֣ר מֵעָלָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַצְמִי־חָ֝֗רָה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִנִּי־חֹֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 30 My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat. [3]
31 וַיְהִ֣י לְ֭אֵבֶל [3] Dechi
כִּנֹּרִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עֻגָבִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְק֣וֹל בֹּכִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 Therefore my harp has turned to mourning, and my pipe into the voice of those who weep. ¶ [3]
