1 וַיַּ֥עַן אֱלִיה֗וּ [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 Moreover Elihu answered, [3/2]
2 הֲ֭זֹאת [3] Dechi
חָשַׁ֣בְתָּ לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta
 
אָ֝מַ֗רְתָּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
צִדְקִ֥י מֵאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’ [3]
3 כִּֽי־תֹ֭אמַר [3] Dechi
מַה־יִּסְכָּן־לָ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
מָֽה־אֹ֝עִ֗יל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵֽחַטָּאתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 that you ask, ‘What advantage will it be to you? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?’ [3]
4 אֲ֭נִי [3] Dechi
אֲשִֽׁיבְךָ֣ מִלִּ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽאֶת־רֵעֶ֥יךָ עִמָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 I will answer you, and your companions with you. [3]
5 הַבֵּ֣ט שָׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi
וּרְאֵ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְשׁ֥וּר שְׁ֝חָקִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גָּבְה֥וּ מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Look to the skies, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you. [3]
6 אִם־חָ֭טָאתָ [3] Dechi
מַה־תִּפְעָל־בּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְרַבּ֥וּ פְ֝שָׁעֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַה־תַּעֲשֶׂה־לּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him? [3]
7 אִם־צָ֭דַקְתָּ [3] Dechi
מַה־תִּתֶּן־ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
א֥וֹ מַה־מִיָּדְךָ֥ יִקָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 7 If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand? [3]
8 לְאִישׁ־כָּמ֥וֹךָ רִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וּלְבֶן־אָ֝דָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
צִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 8 Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man. [2]
 
9 מֵ֭רֹב [3] Dechi
עֲשׁוּקִ֣ים יַזְעִ֑יקוּ [2] Etnachta
 
יְשַׁוְּע֖וּ מִזְּר֣וֹעַ [2] VRevMug
רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 “By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty. [3]
10 וְֽלֹא־אָמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i
אַ֭יֵּה [3] Dechi
אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֹשָׂ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
נֹתֵ֖ן זְמִר֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
בַּלָּֽיְלָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 10 But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night, [3]
11 מַ֭לְּפֵנוּ [3] Dechi
מִבַּהֲמ֣וֹת אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֵע֖וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם [2] VRevMug
יְחַכְּמֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?’ [3]
12 שָׁ֣ם יִ֭צְעֲקוּ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גְּא֣וֹן רָעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 There they cry, but no one answers, because of the pride of evil men. [3]
13 אַךְ־שָׁ֭וְא [3] Dechi
לֹא־יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀ אֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יְשׁוּרֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Surely God will not hear an empty cry, neither will the Almighty regard it. [3]
14 אַ֣ף כִּֽי־תֹ֭אמַר [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א תְשׁוּרֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
דִּ֥ין לְ֝פָנָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּתְח֥וֹלֵֽל לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 How much less when you say you don’t see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him! [3]
15 וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
כִּי־אַ֭יִן [3] Dechi
פָּקַ֣ד אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־יָדַ֖ע בַּפַּ֣שׁ [2] VRevMug
מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 15 But now, because he has not visited in his anger, neither does he greatly regard arrogance, [3]
16 וְ֭אִיּוֹב [3] Dechi
הֶ֣בֶל יִפְצֶה־פִּ֑יהוּ [2] Etnachta
 
בִּבְלִי־דַ֝֗עַת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִלִּ֥ין יַכְבִּֽר׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 16 therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, and he multiplies words without knowledge.” ¶ [3]
