1 הֲיָדַ֗עְתָּ [3] Revi'i
עֵ֭ת [3] Dechi
לֶ֣דֶת יַעֲלֵי־סָ֑לַע [2] Etnachta
 
חֹלֵ֖ל אַיָּל֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
תִּשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 1 “Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns? [3]
2 תִּסְפֹּ֣ר יְרָחִ֣ים [3] VDechi
תְּמַלֶּ֑אנָה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יָדַ֗עְתָּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֵ֣ת לִדְתָּֽנָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 Can you count the months that they fulfill? Or do you know the time when they give birth? [3]
3 תִּ֭כְרַעְנָה [3] Dechi
יַלְדֵיהֶ֣ן תְּפַלַּ֑חְנָה [2] Etnachta
 
חֶבְלֵיהֶ֥ם תְּשַׁלַּֽחְנָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 They bow themselves. They bear their young. They end their labor pains. [3]
4 יַחְלְמ֣וּ בְ֭נֵיהֶם [3] Dechi
יִרְבּ֣וּ בַבָּ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝צְא֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹא־שָׁ֥בוּ לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Their young ones become strong. They grow up in the open field. They go out, and don’t return again. [3]
5 מִֽי־שִׁלַּ֣ח פֶּ֣רֶא [3] VDechi
חָפְשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֹסְר֥וֹת עָ֝ר֗וֹד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י פִתֵּֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 “Who has set the wild donkey free? Or who has loosened the bonds of the swift donkey, [3]
6 אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֣מְתִּי עֲרָבָ֣ה [3] VDechi
בֵית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וּֽמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֥יו מְלֵֽחָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 6 whose home I have made the wilderness, and the salt land his dwelling place? [3]
7 יִ֭שְׂחַק [3] Dechi
לַהֲמ֣וֹן קִרְיָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
תְּשֻׁא֥וֹת נ֝וֹגֵ֗שׂ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִשְׁמָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 He scorns the tumult of the city, neither does he hear the shouting of the driver. [3]
8 יְת֣וּר הָרִ֣ים [3] VDechi
מִרְעֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַחַ֖ר כָּל־יָר֣וֹק [2] VRevMug
יִדְרֽוֹשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 The range of the mountains is his pasture, He searches after every green thing. [3]
9 הֲיֹ֣אבֶה רֵּ֣ים [3] VDechi
עָבְדֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־יָ֝לִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־אֲבוּסֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 “Will the wild ox be content to serve you? Or will he stay by your feeding trough? [3]
10 הֲ‍ֽתִקְשָׁר־רֵ֭ים [3] Dechi
בְּתֶ֣לֶם עֲבֹת֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־יְשַׂדֵּ֖ד עֲמָקִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
אַחֲרֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you? [3]
11 הֲ‌ֽתִבְטַח־בּ֭וֹ [3] Dechi
כִּי־רַ֣ב כֹּח֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְתַעֲזֹ֖ב אֵלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
יְגִיעֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Will you trust him, because his strength is great? Or will you leave to him your labor? [3]
12 הֲתַאֲמִ֣ין בּ֭וֹ [3] Dechi
כִּי־*ישוב **יָשִׁ֣יב זַרְעֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽגָרְנְךָ֥ יֶאֱסֹֽף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 12 Will you confide in him, that he will bring home your seed, and gather the grain of your threshing floor? [3]
13 כְּנַף־רְנָנִ֥ים נֶעֱלָ֑סָה [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־אֶ֝בְרָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֲסִידָ֥ה וְנֹצָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 13 “The wings of the ostrich wave proudly; but are they the feathers and plumage of love? [2]
 
14 כִּֽי־תַעֲזֹ֣ב לָאָ֣רֶץ [3] VDechi
בֵּצֶ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽעַל־עָפָ֥ר תְּחַמֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 14 For she leaves her eggs on the earth, warms them in the dust, [3]
15 וַ֭תִּשְׁכַּח [3] Dechi
כִּי־רֶ֣גֶל תְּזוּרֶ֑הָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְחַיַּ֖ת הַשָּׂדֶ֣ה [2] VRevMug
תְּדוּשֶֽׁהָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 and forgets that the foot may crush them, or that the wild animal may trample them. [3]
16 הִקְשִׁ֣יחַ בָּנֶ֣יהָ [3] VDechi
לְּלֹא־לָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
לְרִ֖יק יְגִיעָ֣הּ [2] VRevMug
בְּלִי־פָֽחַד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 She deals harshly with her young ones, as if they were not hers. Though her labor is in vain, she is without fear, [3]
17 כִּֽי־הִשָּׁ֣הּ אֱל֣וֹהַּ [3] VDechi
חָכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־חָ֥לַק לָ֝֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּבִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 because God has deprived her of wisdom, neither has he imparted to her understanding. [3]
18 כָּ֭עֵת [3] Dechi
בַּמָּר֣וֹם תַּמְרִ֑יא [2] Etnachta
 
תִּֽשְׂחַ֥ק לַ֝סּ֗וּס [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּלְרֹֽכְבֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 When she lifts up herself on high, she scorns the horse and his rider. [3]
19 הֲתִתֵּ֣ן לַסּ֣וּס [3] VDechi
גְּבוּרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
הֲתַלְבִּ֖ישׁ צַוָּאר֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
רַעְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 “Have you given the horse might? Have you clothed his neck with a quivering mane? [3]
20 הְֽ֭תַרְעִישֶׁנּוּ [3] Dechi
כָּאַרְבֶּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
ה֖וֹד נַחְר֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
אֵימָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Have you made him to leap as a locust? The glory of his snorting is awesome. [3]
21 יַחְפְּר֣וּ בָ֭עֵמֶק [3] Dechi
וְיָשִׂ֣ישׂ בְּכֹ֑חַ [2] Etnachta
 
יֵ֝צֵ֗א [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִקְרַאת־נָֽשֶׁק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength. He goes out to meet the armed men. [3]
22 יִשְׂחַ֣ק לְ֭פַחַד [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יֵחָ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־יָ֝שׁ֗וּב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִפְּנֵי־חָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 He mocks at fear, and is not dismayed, neither does he turn back from the sword. [3]
23 עָ֭לָיו [3] Dechi
תִּרְנֶ֣ה אַשְׁפָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
לַ֖הַב חֲנִ֣ית [2] VRevMug
וְכִידֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 The quiver rattles against him, the flashing spear and the javelin. [3]
24 בְּרַ֣עַשׁ וְ֭רֹגֶז [3] Dechi
יְגַמֶּא־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־יַ֝אֲמִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־ק֥וֹל שׁוֹפָֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 He eats up the ground with fierceness and rage, neither does he stand still at the sound of the shofar. [3]
25 בְּדֵ֤י שֹׁפָ֨ר ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
יֹ֘אמַ֤ר הֶאָ֗ח [3] Revi'i
 
וּֽ֭מֵרָחוֹק [3] Dechi
יָרִ֣יחַ מִלְחָמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
רַ֥עַם שָׂ֝רִים [2] Geresh
וּתְרוּעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 25 As often as the shofar sounds he snorts, ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting. [4]
26 הֲ‍ֽ֭מִבִּינָ֣תְךָ [3] Dechi
יַֽאֲבֶר־נֵ֑ץ [2] Etnachta
 
יִפְרֹ֖שׂ *כנפו **כְּנָפָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
לְתֵימָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 “Is it by your wisdom that the hawk soars, and stretches her wings toward the south? [3]
27 אִם־עַל־פִּ֭יךָ [3] Dechi
יַגְבִּ֣יהַּ נָ֑שֶׁר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝כִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָרִ֥ים קִנּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up, and makes his nest on high? [3]
28 סֶ֣לַע יִ֭שְׁכֹּן [3] Dechi
וְיִתְלֹנָ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
עַֽל־שֶׁן־סֶ֝֗לַע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּמְצוּדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 On the cliff he dwells, and makes his home, on the point of the cliff, and the stronghold. [3]
29 מִשָּׁ֥ם חָֽפַר־אֹ֑כֶל [2] Etnachta
 
לְ֝מֵרָח֗וֹק [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֵינָ֥יו יַבִּֽיטוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 29 From there he spies out the prey. His eyes see it afar off. [2]
 
30 *ואפרחו **וְאֶפְרֹחָ֥יו יְעַלְעוּ־דָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּבַאֲשֶׁ֥ר חֲ֝לָלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שָׁ֣ם הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq

2 2 30 His young ones also suck up blood. Where the slain are, there he is.” ¶ [2]
