1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, [3] |

2 מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין [3/2] Revi'i בְּֽלִי־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq |
2 “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? [4] |

3 אֱזָר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר [3] VDechi חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
3 Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me! [3] |

4 אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ [3] Dechi בְּיָסְדִי־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. [3] |

5 מִי־שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ [3] Dechi כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע [2] Etnachta עָלֶ֣יהָ [2] VRevMug~ קָּֽו׃ [1] Silluq |
5 Who determined its measures, [3] if you know; [2] on it, [2] the line? [1] |

6 עַל־מָ֭ה [3] Dechi אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הָטְבָּ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 What were its foundations fastened on? Or who laid its cornerstone, [3] |

7 בְּרָן־יַ֭חַד [3] Dechi כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? [3] |

8 וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם [3] VDechi יָ֑ם [2] Etnachta מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
8 “Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke out of the womb, [3] |

9 בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן [3] VDechi לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
9 when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness, [3] |
|||
10 וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו [3] VDechi חֻקִּ֑י [2] Etnachta בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq |
10 marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors, [3] |
|||
11 וָאֹמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i עַד־פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף [2] Etnachta בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 and said, ‘You may come here, but no further. Your proud waves shall be stopped here’? [3] |

12 הְֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ [3] Dechi צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 “Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place, [3] |
|||
13 לֶ֭אֱחֹז [3] Dechi בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it? [3] |
|||
14 תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ [3] Dechi כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם [2] Etnachta כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 It is changed as clay under the seal, and presented as a garment. [3] |

15 וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים [3] VDechi אוֹרָ֑ם [2] Etnachta תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
15 From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken. [3] |
|||
16 הֲ֭בָאתָ [3] Dechi עַד־נִבְכֵי־יָ֑ם [2] Etnachta הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 “Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep? [3] |
|||
17 הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ [3] Dechi שַׁעֲרֵי־מָ֑וֶת [2] Etnachta תִּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death? [3] |

18 הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ [3] Dechi עַד־רַחֲבֵי־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Have you comprehended the earth in its width? Declare, if you know it all. [3] |

19 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ [3] Dechi יִשְׁכָּן־א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta אֵי־זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
19 “What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is its place, [3] |

20 כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ [3] Dechi אֶל־גְּבוּל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 that you should take it to its bound, that you should discern the paths to its house? [3] |

21 יָ֭דַעְתָּ [3] Dechi כִּי־אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד [2] Etnachta רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
21 Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great! [3] |

22 הֲ֭בָאתָ [3] Dechi אֶל־אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג [2] Etnachta תִּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
22 Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail, [3] |

23 אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־צָ֑ר [2] Etnachta וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
23 which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? [2] |

24 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ [3] Dechi יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
24 By what way is the lightning distributed, or the east wind scattered on the earth? [3] |

25 מִֽי־פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף [3] VDechi תְּעָלָ֑ה [2] Etnachta לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
25 Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunder storm, [3] |

26 לְ֭הַמְטִיר [3] Dechi עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta לֹא־אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 to cause it to rain on a land where there is no man, on the wilderness, in which there is no man, [3] |

27 לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה [3] Dechi וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה [2] Etnachta מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃ [1] Silluq |
27 to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to grow? [3] |

28 הֲיֵשׁ־לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב [2] Etnachta אֶגְלֵי־טָֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
28 Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew? [2] |
|||
29 מִבֶּ֣טֶן מִ֭י [3] Dechi יָצָ֣א הַקָּ֑רַח [2] Etnachta מִ֣י יְלָדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
29 Whose womb did the ice come out of? Who has given birth to the gray frost of the sky? [3] |

30 כָּ֭אֶבֶן [3] Dechi מַ֣יִם יִתְחַבָּ֑אוּ [2] Etnachta יִתְלַכָּֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
30 The waters become hard like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen. [3] |
|||
31 הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר [3] Dechi מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה [2] Etnachta תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq |
31 “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion? [3] |

32 הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת [3] VDechi בְּעִתּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta עַל־בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
32 Can you lead the constellations out in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with her cubs? [3] |

33 הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ [3] Dechi חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם [2] Etnachta בָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish its dominion over the earth? [3] |
|||
34 הֲתָרִ֣ים לָעָ֣ב [3] VDechi קוֹלֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta |
34 “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you? [3] |
|||
35 הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח בְּרָקִ֣ים [3] VDechi וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ [2] Etnachta הִנֵּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
35 Can you send out lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’? [3] |

36 מִי־שָׁ֭ת [3] Dechi בַּטֻּח֣וֹת חָכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta לַשֶּׂ֣כְוִי [2] VRevMug~ בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
36 Who has put [3] wisdom in the inward parts; [2] to the heart, [2] understanding? [1] |

37 מִֽי־יְסַפֵּ֣ר שְׁחָקִ֣ים [3] VDechi בְּחָכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta מִ֣י יַשְׁכִּֽיב׃ [1] Silluq |
37 Who can count the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the containers of the sky, [3] |

38 בְּצֶ֣קֶת עָ֭פָר [3] Dechi לַמּוּצָ֑ק [2] Etnachta |
38 when the dust runs into a mass, and the clods of earth stick together? [3] |
|||
39 הֲתָצ֣וּד לְלָבִ֣יא [3] VDechi טָ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta תְּמַלֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
39 “Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, [3] |
|||
40 כִּי־יָשֹׁ֥חוּ בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta לְמוֹ־אָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq |
40 when they crouch in their dens, and lie in wait in the thicket? [2] |
|||
41 מִ֤י יָכִ֥ין לָעֹרֵ֗ב [3] Revi'i צֵ֫יד֥וֹ [2] Ole Veyored אֶל־אֵ֣ל יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta לִבְלִי־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq |
41 Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food? ¶ [3] |
