1 הֵן־תֹּחַלְתּ֥וֹ נִכְזָ֑בָה [2] Etnachta יֻטָֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain. Won’t one be cast down even at the sight of him? [2] |

2 לֹֽא־אַ֭כְזָר [3] Dechi כִּ֣י יְעוּרֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta לְפָנַ֥י יִתְיַצָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
10 None is so fierce that he dare stir him up. Who then is he who can stand before me? [3] |

3 מִ֣י הִ֭קְדִּימַנִי [3] Dechi וַאֲשַׁלֵּ֑ם [2] Etnachta לִי־הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq |
11 Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Everything under the heavens is mine. [3] |

12 “I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his goodly frame. [2] |

13 Who can strip off his outer garment? Who will come within his jaws? [3] |

6 דַּלְתֵ֣י פָ֭נָיו [3] Dechi מִ֣י פִתֵּ֑חַ [2] Etnachta אֵימָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
14 Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth is terror. [3] |

7 גַּ֭אֲוָה [3] Dechi אֲפִיקֵ֣י מָֽגִנִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta חוֹתָ֥ם צָֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Strong scales are his pride, shut up together with a close seal. [3] |

16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. [3] |

9 אִישׁ־בְּאָחִ֥יהוּ יְדֻבָּ֑קוּ [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יִתְפָּרָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
17 They are joined to one another. They stick together, so that they can’t be pulled apart. [2] |

18 His sneezing flashes out light. His eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. [3] |

19 Out of his mouth go burning torches. Sparks of fire leap out. [3] |

20 Out of his nostrils a smoke goes, as of a boiling pot over a fire of reeds. [3] |

13 נַ֭פְשׁוֹ [3] Dechi גֶּחָלִ֣ים תְּלַהֵ֑ט [2] Etnachta מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
21 His breath kindles coals. A flame goes out of his mouth. [3] |

14 בְּֽ֭צַוָּארוֹ [3] Dechi יָלִ֣ין עֹ֑ז [2] Etnachta תָּד֥וּץ דְּאָבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
22 There is strength in his neck. Terror dances before him. [3] |

15 מַפְּלֵ֣י בְשָׂר֣וֹ [3] VDechi דָבֵ֑קוּ [2] Etnachta בַּל־יִמּֽוֹט׃ [1] Silluq |
23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together. They are firm on him. They can’t be moved. [3] |

24 His heart is as firm as a stone, yes, firm as the lower millstone. [3] |

25 When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing. [3] |

18 מַשִּׂיגֵ֣הוּ חֶ֭רֶב [3] Dechi בְּלִ֣י תָק֑וּם [2] Etnachta וְשִׁרְיָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
26 If one attacks him with the sword, it can’t prevail; nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft. [3] |

19 יַחְשֹׁ֣ב לְתֶ֣בֶן [3] VDechi בַּרְזֶ֑ל [2] Etnachta נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq |
27 He counts iron as straw; and bronze as rotten wood. [3] |

20 לֹֽא־יַבְרִיחֶ֥נּוּ בֶן־קָ֑שֶׁת [2] Etnachta נֶהְפְּכוּ־ל֥וֹ אַבְנֵי־קָֽלַע׃ [1] Silluq |
28 The arrow can’t make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him. [2] |

29 Clubs are counted as stubble. He laughs at the rushing of the javelin. [3] |

30 His undersides are like sharp potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge. [3] |

31 He makes the deep to boil like a pot. He makes the sea like a pot of ointment. [3] |

32 He makes a path shine after him. One would think the deep had white hair. [3] |

25 אֵֽין־עַל־עָפָ֥ר מָשְׁל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta לִבְלִי־חָֽת׃ [1] Silluq |
33 On earth there is not his equal, that is made without fear. [2] |

26 אֵֽת־כָּל־גָּבֹ֥הַּ יִרְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta מֶ֣לֶךְ עַל־כָּל־בְּנֵי־שָֽׁחַץ׃ [1] Silluq ס |
34 He sees everything that is high. He is king over all the sons of pride.” ¶ [2] |
