שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בֶן־דָּוִ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
מֶ֝֗לֶךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel, [3]
2 לָדַ֣עַת חָכְמָ֣ה [3] VDechi
וּמוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
לְ֝הָבִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אִמְרֵ֥י בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding, [3]
3 לָ֭קַחַת [3] Dechi
מוּסַ֣ר הַשְׂכֵּ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
צֶ֥דֶק וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity, [3]
4 לָתֵ֣ת לִפְתָאיִ֣ם [3] VDechi
עָרְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
לְ֝נַ֗עַר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דַּ֣עַת וּמְזִמָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man, [3]
5 יִשְׁמַ֣ע חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi
וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶ֑קַח [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝נָב֗וֹן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּחְבֻּל֥וֹת יִקְנֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel, [3]
6 לְהָבִ֣ין מָ֭שָׁל [3] Dechi
וּמְלִיצָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
דִּבְרֵ֥י חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְחִידֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 to understand a proverb, and parables, the words and riddles of the wise. [3]
7 יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה [3] Dechi
רֵאשִׁ֣ית דָּ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
חָכְמָ֥ה וּ֝מוּסָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֱוִילִ֥ים בָּֽזוּ׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. [3]
8 שְׁמַ֣ע בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
מוּסַ֣ר אָבִ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תּוֹרַ֥ת אִמֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching, [3]
9 כִּ֤י ׀ [4/3] Mahpakh Legarmeh
לִוְיַ֤ת חֵ֓ן הֵ֬ם לְרֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝עֲנָקִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְגַרְגְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck. [4/3]
10 בְּנִ֡י [4/3] Pazer
אִם־יְפַתּ֥וּךָ חַ֝טָּאִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַל־תֹּבֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 10 My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent. [4/3]
11 אִם־יֹאמְרוּ֮ [3] Sinnor
לְכָ֪ה אִ֫תָּ֥נוּ [2] Ole Veyored
 
נֶאֶרְבָ֥ה לְדָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
נִצְפְּנָ֖ה לְנָקִ֣י [2] VRevMug
חִנָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 11 If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lay in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause. [3]
12 נִ֭בְלָעֵם [3] Dechi
כִּשְׁא֣וֹל חַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּי֣וֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit. [3]
13 כָּל־ה֣וֹן יָקָ֣ר [3] VDechi
נִמְצָ֑א [2] Etnachta
 
נְמַלֵּ֖א בָתֵּ֣ינוּ [2] VRevMug
שָׁלָֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder. [3]
14 גּ֭וֹרָ֣לְךָ [3] Dechi
תַּפִּ֣יל בְּתוֹכֵ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥יס אֶ֝חָ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִהְיֶ֥ה לְכֻלָּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse.” [3]
15 בְּנִ֗י [3] Revi'i
אַל־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ [3] VDechi
אִתָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
מְנַ֥ע רַ֝גְלְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִנְּתִיבָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 15 My son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path, [3]
16 כִּ֣י רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם [3] Dechi
לָרַ֣ע יָר֑וּצוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וִֽ֝ימַהֲר֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִשְׁפָּךְ־דָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood. [3]
17 כִּֽי־חִ֭נָּם [3] Dechi
מְזֹרָ֣ה הָרָ֑שֶׁת [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝עֵינֵ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כָל־בַּ֥עַל כָּנָֽף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird, [3]
18 וְ֭הֵם [3] Dechi
לְדָמָ֣ם יֶאֱרֹ֑בוּ [2] Etnachta
 
יִ֝צְפְּנ֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְנַפְשֹׁתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives. [3]
19 כֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'i
אָ֭רְחוֹת [3] Dechi
כָּל־בֹּ֣צֵֽעַ בָּ֑צַע [2] Etnachta
 
אֶת־נֶ֖פֶשׁ בְּעָלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
יִקָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 3 2 19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners. [3]
20 חָ֭כְמוֹת [3] Dechi
בַּח֣וּץ תָּרֹ֑נָּה [2] Etnachta
 
בָּ֝רְחֹב֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּתֵּ֥ן קוֹלָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares. [3]
21 בְּרֹ֥אשׁ הֹמִיּ֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
תִּ֫קְרָ֥א [2] Ole Veyored
 
בְּפִתְחֵ֖י שְׁעָרִ֥ים בָּעִ֗יר [3/2] Revi'i
אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ תֹאמֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words, [3]
22 עַד־מָתַ֣י ׀ פְּתָיִם֮ [3] Sinnor
תְּֽאֵהֲב֫וּ פֶ֥תִי [2] Ole Veyored
 
וְלֵצִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
לָ֭צוֹן [3] Dechi
חָמְד֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִשְׂנְאוּ־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 3 2 22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge? [3]
23 תָּשׁ֗וּבוּ [3] Revi'i
לְֽת֫וֹכַחְתִּ֥י [2] Ole Veyored
 
הִנֵּ֤ה אַבִּ֣יעָה לָכֶ֣ם [3] VDechi
רוּחִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
אוֹדִ֖יעָה דְבָרַ֣י [2] VRevMug
אֶתְכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 23 Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. [3]
24 יַ֣עַן קָ֭רָאתִי [3] Dechi
וַתְּמָאֵ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta
 
נָטִ֥יתִי יָ֝דִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְאֵ֣ין מַקְשִֽׁיב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention, [3]
25 וַתִּפְרְע֥וּ כָל־עֲצָתִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תוֹכַחְתִּ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א אֲבִיתֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 25 but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof, [2]
 
26 גַּם־אֲ֭נִי [3] Dechi
בְּאֵידְכֶ֣ם אֶשְׂחָ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
אֶ֝לְעַ֗ג [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּבֹ֣א פַחְדְּכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you, [3]
27 בְּבֹ֤א *כשאוה **כְשׁוֹאָ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
פַּחְדְּכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
וְֽ֭אֵידְכֶם [3] Dechi
כְּסוּפָ֣ה יֶאֱתֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
בְּבֹ֥א עֲ֝לֵיכֶ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
צָרָ֥ה וְצוּקָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you. [4]
28 אָ֣ז יִ֭קְרָאֻנְנִי [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝שַׁחֲרֻ֗נְנִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָאֻֽנְנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me, [3]
29 תַּ֭חַת [3] Dechi
כִּי־שָׂ֣נְאוּ דָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
וְיִרְאַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א בָחָֽרוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD. [3]
30 לֹא־אָב֥וּ לַעֲצָתִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
נָ֝אֲצ֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כָּל־תּוֹכַחְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 30 They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. [2]
 
31 וְֽ֭יֹאכְלוּ [3] Dechi
מִפְּרִ֣י דַרְכָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּֽמִמֹּעֲצֹ֖תֵיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
יִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes. [3]
32 כִּ֤י מְשׁוּבַ֣ת פְּתָיִ֣ם [3] VDechi
תַּֽהַרְגֵ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְשַׁלְוַ֖ת כְּסִילִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
תְּאַבְּדֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 32 For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them. [3]
33 וְשֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֭י [3] Dechi
יִשְׁכָּן־בֶּ֑טַח [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝שַׁאֲנַ֗ן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִפַּ֥חַד רָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 33 But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.” ¶ [3]
