1 My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you, [3] |

| 2 לְהַקְשִׁ֣יב לַֽחָכְמָ֣ה [3] VDechi אָזְנֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta לַתְּבוּנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding, [3] |

| 3 כִּ֤י אִ֣ם לַבִּינָ֣ה [3] VDechi תִקְרָ֑א [2] Etnachta תִּתֵּ֥ן קוֹלֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, [3] |

| 4 אִם־תְּבַקְשֶׁ֥נָּה כַכָּ֑סֶף [2] Etnachta |
4 if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, [2] |

| 5 אָ֗ז [3] Revi'i תָּ֭בִין [3] Dechi יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta תִּמְצָֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. [3] |

| 6 כִּֽי־יְ֭הוָה [3] Dechi יִתֵּ֣ן חָכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta דַּ֣עַת וּתְבוּנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
6 For the LORD gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. [3] |

| 7 *וצפן **יִצְפֹּ֣ן לַ֭יְשָׁרִים [3] Dechi תּוּשִׁיָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta לְהֹ֣לְכֵי תֹֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
7 He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, [3] |

| 8 לִ֭נְצֹר [3] Dechi אָרְח֣וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta יִשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
8 that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his holy ones. [3] |

| 9 אָ֗ז [3] Revi'i תָּ֭בִין [3] Dechi צֶ֣דֶק וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta כָּל־מַעְגַּל־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq |
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. [3] |

| 10 כִּֽי־תָב֣וֹא חָכְמָ֣ה [3] VDechi בְלִבֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta לְֽנַפְשְׁךָ֥ יִנְעָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
10 For wisdom will enter into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. [3] |

11 Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will keep you, [3] |

| 12 לְ֭הַצִּ֣ילְךָ [3] Dechi מִדֶּ֣רֶךְ רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta מְדַבֵּ֥ר תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
12 to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things, [3] |

| 13 הַ֭עֹ֣זְבִים [3] Dechi אָרְח֣וֹת יֹ֑שֶׁר [2] Etnachta בְּדַרְכֵי־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
13 who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness, [3] |

| 14 הַ֭שְּׂמֵחִים [3] Dechi לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta בְּֽתַהְפֻּכ֥וֹת רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq |
14 who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of evil, [3] |

| 15 אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָרְחֹתֵיהֶ֣ם [3] VDechi עִקְּשִׁ֑ים [2] Etnachta בְּמַעְגְּלוֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
15 who are crooked in their ways, and wayward in their paths, [3] |

| 16 לְ֭הַצִּ֣ילְךָ [3] Dechi מֵאִשָּׁ֣ה זָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ הֶחֱלִֽיקָה׃ [1] Silluq |
16 to deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words, [3] |

| 17 הַ֭עֹזֶבֶת [3] Dechi אַלּ֣וּף נְעוּרֶ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta שָׁכֵֽחָה׃ [1] Silluq |
17 who forsakes the friend of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God, [3] |

| 18 כִּ֤י שָׁ֣חָה אֶל־מָ֣וֶת [3] VDechi בֵּיתָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta מַעְגְּלֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
18 for her house leads down to death, her paths to the departed spirits. [3] |

| 19 כָּל־בָּ֭אֶיהָ [3] Dechi לֹ֣א יְשׁוּב֑וּן [2] Etnachta אָרְח֥וֹת חַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
19 None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life. [3] |
|||
| 20 לְמַ֗עַן [3] Revi'i תֵּ֭לֵךְ [3] Dechi בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ טוֹבִ֑ים [2] Etnachta תִּשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
20 So you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. [3] |

| 21 כִּֽי־יְשָׁרִ֥ים יִשְׁכְּנוּ אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta יִוָּ֥תְרוּ בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
21 For the upright will dwell in the land. The perfect will remain in it. [2] |

| 22 וּ֭רְשָׁעִים [3] Dechi מֵאֶ֣רֶץ יִכָּרֵ֑תוּ [2] Etnachta יִסְּח֥וּ מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq פ |
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the land. The treacherous will be rooted out of it. ¶ [3] |
