1 בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
שְׁמֹ֣ר אֲמָרָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מִצְוֺתַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּצְפֹּ֥ן אִתָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you. [3]
2 שְׁמֹ֣ר מִצְוֺתַ֣י [3] VDechi
וֶחְיֵ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תוֹרָתִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּאִישׁ֥וֹן עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye. [3]
3 קָשְׁרֵ֥ם עַל־אֶצְבְּעֹתֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
כָּ֝תְבֵ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־ל֥וּחַ לִבֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 3 Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart. [2]
 
4 אֱמֹ֣ר לַֽ֭חָכְמָה [3] Dechi
אֲחֹ֣תִי אָ֑תְּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֹדָ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לַבִּינָ֥ה תִקְרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Tell wisdom, “You are my sister.” Call understanding your relative, [3]
5 לִ֭שְׁמָרְךָ [3] Dechi
מֵאִשָּׁ֣ה זָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝נָּכְרִיָּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ הֶחֱלִֽיקָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words. [3]
6 כִּ֭י [3] Dechi
בְּחַלּ֣וֹן בֵּיתִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
בְּעַ֖ד אֶשְׁנַבִּ֣י [2] VRevMug
נִשְׁקָֽפְתִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice. [3]
7 וָאֵ֤רֶא בַפְּתָאיִ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אָ֘בִ֤ינָה בַבָּנִ֗ים [3/2] Revi'i
נַ֣עַר חֲסַר־לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 7 I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding, [3]
8 עֹבֵ֣ר בַּ֭שּׁוּק [3] Dechi
אֵ֣צֶל פִּנָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְדֶ֖רֶךְ בֵּיתָ֣הּ [2] VRevMug
יִצְעָֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 passing through the street near her corner, he went the way to her house, [3]
9 בְּנֶֽשֶׁף־בְּעֶ֥רֶב י֑וֹם [2] Etnachta
 
בְּאִישׁ֥וֹן לַ֝֗יְלָה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַאֲפֵלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the middle of the night and in the darkness. [2]
 
10 וְהִנֵּ֣ה אִ֭שָּׁה [3] Dechi
לִקְרָאת֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
שִׁ֥ית ז֝וֹנָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּנְצֻ֥רַת לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute, and with crafty intent. [3]
11 הֹמִיָּ֣ה הִ֣יא [3] VDechi
וְסֹרָ֑רֶת [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝בֵיתָ֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־יִשְׁכְּנ֥וּ רַגְלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 She is loud and defiant. Her feet don’t stay in her house. [3]
12 פַּ֤עַם ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
בַּח֗וּץ [3] Revi'i
פַּ֥עַם בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֖צֶל כָּל־פִּנָּ֣ה [2] VRevMug
תֶאֱרֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner. [4]
13 וְהֶחֱזִ֣יקָה בּ֭וֹ [3] Dechi
וְנָ֣שְׁקָה־לּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
הֵעֵ֥זָה פָ֝נֶ֗יהָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַתֹּ֣אמַר לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him, [3]
14 זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֣ים [3] VDechi
עָלָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
הַ֝יּ֗וֹם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שִׁלַּ֥מְתִּי נְדָרָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows. [3]
15 עַל־כֵּ֭ן [3] Dechi
יָצָ֣אתִי לִקְרָאתֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
לְשַׁחֵ֥ר פָּ֝נֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וָאֶמְצָאֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you. [3]
16 מַ֭רְבַדִּים [3] Dechi
רָבַ֣דְתִּי עַרְשִׂ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
חֲ֝טֻב֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵט֥וּן מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt. [3]
17 נַ֥פְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
מֹ֥ר אֲ֝הָלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְקִנָּמֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. [2]
 
18 לְכָ֤ה נִרְוֶ֣ה דֹ֭דִים [3] Dechi
עַד־הַבֹּ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta
 
נִ֝תְעַלְּסָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בָּאֳהָבִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Come, let’s take our fill of loving until the morning. Let’s solace ourselves with loving. [3]
19 כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין הָאִ֣ישׁ [3] VDechi
בְּבֵית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
הָ֝לַ֗ךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ מֵרָחֽוֹק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 For my husband isn’t at home. He has gone on a long journey. [3]
20 צְֽרוֹר־הַ֭כֶּסֶף [3] Dechi
לָקַ֣ח בְּיָד֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
לְי֥וֹם הַ֝כֵּ֗סֶא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָבֹ֥א בֵיתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon.” [3]
21 הִ֭טַּתּוּ [3] Dechi
בְּרֹ֣ב לִקְחָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
בְּחֵ֥לֶק שְׂ֝פָתֶ֗יהָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּדִּיחֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him. [3]
22 ה֤וֹלֵ֥ךְ אַחֲרֶ֗יהָ [3] Revi'i
פִּ֫תְאֹ֥ם [2] Ole Veyored
 
כְּ֭שׁוֹר [3] Dechi
אֶל־טָ֣בַח יָב֑וֹא [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝כְעֶ֗כֶס [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶל־מוּסַ֥ר אֱוִֽיל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 22 He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool stepping into a noose. [3]
23 עַ֤ד יְפַלַּ֪ח חֵ֡ץ [4] Pazer
כְּֽבֵד֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
כְּמַהֵ֣ר צִפּ֣וֹר [3] VDechi
אֶל־פָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־יָ֝דַ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּֽי־בְנַפְשׁ֥וֹ הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 4 3 2 23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn’t know that it will cost his life. [4]
24 וְעַתָּ֣ה בָ֭נִים [3] Dechi
שִׁמְעוּ־לִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝הַקְשִׁ֗יבוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth. [3]
25 אַל־יֵ֣שְׂטְ אֶל־דְּרָכֶ֣יהָ [3] VDechi
לִבֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
אַל־תֵּ֝תַע [2] Geresh
בִּנְתִיבוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Don’t let your heart turn to her ways. Don’t go astray in her paths, [3]
26 כִּֽי־רַבִּ֣ים חֲלָלִ֣ים [3] VDechi
הִפִּ֑ילָה [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝עֲצֻמִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כָּל־הֲרֻגֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army. [3]
27 דַּרְכֵ֣י שְׁא֣וֹל [3] VDechi
בֵּיתָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta
 
יֹ֝רְד֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶל־חַדְרֵי־מָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq
